Tasteless and Artosis' explanation of why SC is more popular is why i don't like SC2. The amount of effects in SC2 distracts from the gameplay and the inability to easily distinguish units as easy as SC makes it a difficult spectator sport.

But yeah, like Entaro said, Sc2 is pretty hard to follow whats going on. I'm kind of worried that it may have the 'wc3 syndrome' in that there is just simply too much. Do all units really need a special ability? I mean... think about SC1, most the units dont actually have something that you 'use'. It mostly came down to how you utilized its firing animation.
Of course there are casters and such in SC1, just SC2 seems to have wayyyyyyyyy more.
Also, the pathing on SC2 might be a little TOO good. Apparently if you tell a group of units to attack one guy they spread out and attack whatever is closest. Stuff like that has the potential of ruining sc2.
Either way, great interview. I'm looking forward to seeing them at Blizzcon as well as getting my hands on SC2 to find out for myself. Hopefully it turns out better than wc3

lol what, Tasteless and Artosis never mentioned effects or clutter. Their reasons were:
Creeping
Leveling
High Hitpoint units
Hard to focus on action (coutnerstrike)
Anti-climatic fights
Items
I don't know how you drew your conclusion..

^Mystlord has some of their Heritage games on-demand in his livestream channel (www.livestream.com/mystlord) but I don't know of a place that has all the games.
