Thanks for this!
how does Yarnc have the most ZvP wins? Seriously, how does that happen?
EDIT: Also, this is total wins, not win-loss ratio or wins minus losses or anything like that, right?

Yea, this is just the raw total of wins

Lol at Flash Bisu and Jaedong being so far ahead
Those three need some sort of name
|
Wow luxury isn't in a single zerg category

Amazing how bad Flash's TvZ has been this Proleague. He is the only one who is #1 in two of the three match ups to not appear on the third's top 5

The Top 3 are ridiculous.
The matchup lists are somewhat biased by luck.
I,e Flash has definitely had the best TvZ over the course of all 4 rounds but he simply has not been matched up against Zergs very often. Free is #1 PvT despite having by far the worst PvT on that list. Yarnc's ZvP is worse than every single person below him (somewhat debatable with calm/hyvaa who are unproven whereas Yarnc is just proven to be bad) but he's played a lot of crappy P's, etc.
In certain matchups it does show some things though. Flash, Hiya, and Fantasy are so far above everyone else in TvP and the latter simply didn't do well in proleague for awhile.

Yeah, his terrible, terrible 0-2 record really raises a few eyebrows,

Just for comparison, here are your top fives by Proleague winning percentage.
* I realize these cut-offs are somewhat arbitrary, but a) they seem to reflect reality best and b) there is some thought behind them. 25 games represents just over 6 games a round (so far), making it a good barometer for "does this guy really matter to the team?". 8 wins represents 1/3 of 6 games a round.

Geez, Bisu has a crazy winning percentage, topping all categories he's in, and only one matchup below 80%, and its a 79%

Absolutely. I think that Flash was put out on maps like Medusa and other T-weighted maps that put him in a lot of TvPs and TvTs, but not so many TvZs.
Bisu is not going to be put on maps that incur PvTs (although it perhaps be a weak matchup of his) because they have several viable options to beat T players, like Best, Fantasy, pretty much everyone's good against T on SKT1.
Probably more telling is the percentages, but those are equally biased because of how people haven't played very many leagues.
But 42 wins is more wins that I've gotten on Iccup since I came back, haha.
Thnaks for translation Smix.

Great to see HiyA (woot Oz pride) ranked up 3rd there, his recent showing and in the round before have really helped him. Also nice to see ZerO & free up there.
Thanks for the translations Mr. Smix!

I know you guys are saying that flash has great TvZ and the reason that he isn't in the top 5 for wins is just that he hasn't played that many TvZs, but look at his win rate compared to the other Ts...

Look at his opponents. The only weak zerg player that Flash has even faced in this entire PL season is Hyuk, who he beat. One third of his TvZs in this proleague season have been against Jaedong.

It's not like Flash's TvZ is in any way, shape, or form bad. But this is intriguing, because if we pare down the record a little bit:
vs. Jaedong: 1-2 (1-3 counting the WL Playoffs). vs. all other Zergs: 5-3.
Compared to his ranking in the other matchups, this is a huge dropoff, even if it is due to the "luck" of not playing many TvZs.
To make a point about why this doesn't really matter: You can make the same point for Jaedong's ZvP... now, is Jaedong's ZvP a weak matchup? Nooo. Whatever the stats say, Jaedong is still favored against any Protoss except Bisu (maybe) in a best-of, and against anyone except Bisu, free, and Kal (let's say) in a single game, and there are how many better ZvPers? July, maybe.
Similarly, Flash may have odd-looking results, but he's still favored against any Zerg except Jaedong in a best-of, and while the list of Zergs who could maybe be favored to take him in a single game is a little longer than Jaedong's list of Protosses, there really aren't many better TvZers - maybe Leta and UpMagic?

Flash, Jaedong and Bisu are really proving that they're the masters of their respective races. The only one who is doing a somewhat decent job of trailing behind them is Leta.

1. (P)Bisu - 42 Wins 2. (P)free - 29 Wins
Wow, look at the differences in wins. 13!!!!
That is just insane.
This is like, the craziest time in starcraft. Because Jaedong Flash and Bisu are so closely matched that its like they are THE guys to watch. If you want to get better at the game or watch the highest level matchups. Watch those guys. They are probably hunted down more than anyone in the game, and it would take everything you have to beat them.
Flash isn't on the tvz list, but that is okay, he is still a monster nonetheless in that matchup. His Mirror matchup is unparalleled.
Hurray for july 100%!!!!
|
I think we can safely assume that the current King/Emperor/Master of each respective race is Flash, Bisu and Jaedong, and the fact that they are doing so ridiculously well compared to other players is why this generations od pro-gamers are my personal favorite to watch, its not like just 1 guy dominating and wtfpwns everything, we got 3 heavenly kings right up there at the seemingly untouchable peaks...
Although Leta the miracle boy is doing 1 hell of a job catching up to them! speaking of personalities, Bisu is my current favorite, he has this prince esque aura around him, one can see it as class or confidence... or arrogance, while jaedong has those murderous aura, a killer presence!, while flash... kinda lacks of a personality really, all those facial twitching just made him look..... mechanical
Great work of these analysis, must have spent quite some time working on them
and btw... whatever happened to all the samsung players? -.-||

Iris only CJ there, and only one matchup =(
Perhaps this is a good thing since it shows CJ doesn't always have to depend on one player =D

I really can't figure out what makes July's ZvP so amazing. I don't mean that in a bad way, it's just that when I watch his VODs I can't really see any major things he does differently. I'm also pretty confused why what ever he's doing is so inapplicable to his TvZ.
I'm a barely C Terran and I don't really play Zerg at all, so I'm sure I'm just missing something. I've been really curious about this lately though, so if anyone could explain it to me I would appreciate it.

That is the beauty of the game, in numbers.
