Luxury
The MSL finals are almost here. -I’m still not on the stage yet, so for now, I don’t really feel anything…it’s just like usual…
This is the first time you’re entering the finals, you seem excited. -This is the first time, so I need to win it, and get a good beginning…when you see all the second-place finishers, it’s really depressing…[laugh]
Your opponent is Jangbi. -He is a very strong opponent, but I think as long as I prepare, I can beat him.
Thoughts on the maps? -Whatever. Seems like they’re advantageous to me. I personally didn’t like Sin Chupung-Ryeong, even though there’s a Zerg advantage…so during the preparation process, I guess I grew to like it…I haven’t really practiced that map a lot, but after practicing, I discovered that the map’s pretty good as Zerg. There are 2 or 3 other maps that have a Zerg advantage, so from the map standpoint, I have an edge.
You’ve had great momentum lately. -Recently I’ve got in the zone and wanted to work harder than everyone else, so I often practice until very late, and I believe that hard work will pay off.
What’s the most important part of this final? -The first match might determine it…in most Bo5’s, whoever wins the first game tends to win the series. If I win the first game, I would have confidence for maybe even a sweep…
Your game has been steadily improving in BoX’s lately. -Before, when I failed twice in these BoX’s, I was put on the same team as Nada for an All-Star game, and learned a lot from him about techniques for BoX’s. He gave me a lot of suggestions that have helped me a lot. Back then, I played the game with naivety. Now, I’ve been thinking a lot more, and improved a lot in terms of mindgames, so I’ve been having good results.
Your team has high expectations for you. -I don’t view these kind of expectations as pressure, because it’s not only for the team, I myself also want to win.
After the MSL finals you’ll have Winner’s League Playoffs, do you feel pressured? -I’ve been preparing for both. I reduced my downtime to practice more…ForGG has some pressure I think, but he is very capable of winning, and he came from Oz. I think he will put up a good fight.
Word before the games? -I’ve never been able to stand on the finals stage before, and messed up a lot…now that I’m finally here, I will practice hard and show everyone the face of a champion.
Anything to say to Jangbi? -I heard you’ve been practicing hard, but I want to say, if you want to give me a good fight, you need to practice at least 2-3 times more than me, so I hope you practice hard. [laugh]
---
Jangbi
You’re almost at the finals, how do you feel? -Because of prior experience, it’s nothing new. The feeling’s the same as preparing for the Ro8 and the Ro4.
Unfortunately, you got second last season. -It’s very regretful…I’m really curious to what it feels like to win, and now that the opportunity’s in front of me again, I want it more than ever.
You don’t believe that mindgames are very important in Bo3’s and Bo5s. -I never really took note of stuff like that. Even though I have a lot of room to improve, I personally believe that if you lost in a BoX, it’s just because your opponent prepared better than you.
People say you did well in terms of mindgames in the match against Stork. -To be honest, I cracked. I usually play very safely, but I gambled a lot, and prepared all-in strategies. Good thing it had a good result…
Thoughts on Luxury? -Even though I haven’t faced him, I can tell that he’s an offensive player. I will take note of all-in strategies and prepare accordingly.
Stork played against Luxury a lot. -After the Ro4 ended, I took Stork hyung out for a drink. The awkward situation diffused itself completely, he said he would help me with everything he has. [laugh] Even though I won, I’m really sorry, and, thank him.
You’re labeled as one of the Kings of Second Place. -I’ve seen those opinions, I view them as jokes. I think a lot of people probably wish that I was one of those players [laugh] But honestly, I definitely will not be. Winning is the way to go.
Thoughts on the map order? -The maps are Zerg favored, so I need to win the first game. Stork hyung says that the second map, Carthage, is way too difficult. If you can’t win the first game, you’ll be even more disadvantaged in the second game.
Last thoughts? -Recently, at various finals, I’ve gotten all seconds. Now that I have experience, I hope this time I can win. I want to hear someone say “You’re the champion.”

Jeez, Stork seems to hate a lot of maps.

I think this is the first series since I've been paying attention to progaming that I actually don't care who wins. I like both players, so either way I'll be happy for the winner and sad for the loser.
and of course thanks to CSheep for the translation =]

Both seem pretty calm so it should be a high quality finals, hopefully. Go Lux 3-0!~

Lux sounds prepared. I expect him to pull through here

Luxury is so full of himself it's ridiculous, I hope you go down the drain 0-3 you filthy zerg scum

and of course thanks to CSheep for the translation =] I feel the same way. It would be cool for an unorthodox Zerg to take it, but I also like Jangbi and don't want him to become Stork v2.

I feel bad for jangbi lol, he deserves a win!

I sense another 5 pool on Destination, perfectly viable and Lux always pulls off his 5 pools

Polar opposites in meta game.

I like Lux. Seeing him in the finals still feels kinda wierd but i'll cheer for him. Kid has character.
|
Lol@ the all in question.
I'd interpret that as "please please don't all in me". Who would say something like that when they are a ctually truly preparing to counter all ins. No one
Lux! Open with an all in!
Thanks for the translation.

I thought the map pool was
Game 1 - Neo Harmony Game 2 - Carthage Game 3 - Destination Game 4 - Byzantium 2 Game 5 - Neo Harmony
but luxury talks about sin chupung ryeong? Are you sure he's not talking about neo harmony (I assume it also begins with "sin" in korean)?
|
I hope that's gonna be one of the best finals. They are both so different and might offer so interesting games, I'm so hyped.
Or Lux can deliver some crap like vs Best when he had the 2:0 lead and still lost 2:3...
Anyway, I really hope Jangbi wins this time!
|
Go Jangbi! Seriously, seeing silver jokes would be lame.

Why JangBi is one scary motherfucker, illustrated in verse: + Show Spoiler +From The Way of Chuang Tzu, by Thomas Merton
The Fighting Cock
Chi Hsing Tzu was a trainer of fighting cocks For King Hsuan. He was training a fine bird.
The King kept asking if the bird was Ready for combat.
"Not yet," said the trainer. "He is full of fire. He is ready to pick a fight With every other bird. He is vain and confident Of his own strength."
After ten days, he answered again: "Not yet. He flares up When he hears another bird crow."
After ten more days: "Not yet. He still gets That angry look And ruffles his feathers."
Again ten days: The trainer said, "Now he is nearly ready. When another bird crows, his eye Does not even flicker. He stands immobile Like a cock of wood.
He is a mature fighter. Other birds Will take one look at him And run."
Luxury's posturing at the end just sounds silly juxtaposed with JangBi's completely cold badass-ness.

Jangbi just make sure he doesn't get pwned by some 2-hatch cheese. He's obviously the better player late game.

Yes. It's Neo Harmony. Those two map names actually have quite a bit in common. So easy mistake to make.

luxury's cock is ready for the rape

both of these players are awesome, but i think jangbi's lack of appreciation for the metagame in a box will hurt him. lux has become an awesome box player (thanks to nada =). i'll be happy no matter who wins, so long as there are some good games
|
I really think that Jangbi is going to pay the price for disregarding mind games. I think BeSt disregarded mind games going up to his OSL finals vs July, and we all know how that turned out.
|
Jangbi really looks like a shaolin monk of some sort.

haha Luxury = badass
Luxury definitely deserves the gold.. and hell win it...

whoever wins i wont be disappointed, lux and jb are both great players. even though my bet is with luxury, think he puts more pressure on himself.

JangBi is worlds away from Best in terms of intelligence in a BoX. There's a reason JangBi's been to 3 finals already, whereas Best has been to none. JangBi might claim he doesn't care about mind games, but he's well aware of when other players are trying to play them. He probably just means he doesn't dedicate his own BoX strategy around cheeses or manipulating the other player. A guy who doesn't know how to analyze mind games would not have scouted Stork's play in game 3.

lol I was about to call that as well.
I have no idea who to root for. If it weren't Jangbi's third final, I would definitely root for Luxury; but I would feel so bad for Jangbi if he got his third silver in a row. But Luxury seems so confident that I would be sad for him too if he lost. I guess I'll just have to hope for 5 good games and leave it at that.
It's kind of an amazing final because + Show Spoiler ++ Show Spoiler [OSL spoiler] + with the possible exception of FANTASY (WTF WHERE DID THAT COME FROM) these are probably the best two players right now who haven't yet won a title.

LUXURY PLZ Yes Hot_Bid.
Lux should be taking this. Let's just hope he doesn't show his streaky side in this. Lux for the 3-0!

Luxury's comment makes me wish I could see a chart of every Bo5 and the winning percentage of first-game winners.
|
Luxury is such a funny guy. I love his interviews. They always make me laugh
I am really excited about the final. Jangbi is a monster (3 finals in a row; 2xMSL + GOM) but Luxury has been on fire lately. Let's see if Luxury can beat Jangbi with a little help of maps

"most" as in not-jaedong Bo5s
Hoping Luxury, but thinking Jangbi here
