This plugin tells noobs like me when they are messing up again. It is scriptable with lua, so you can set you own triggers, supply thresholds, etc.
Features: * Warns if your free supply gets low * Warns if your minerals/gas get to high and no unit is being build/you have larva * Notifies you if a depot/pylon is ready Feel free to create your own scripts and share them here.
Yes I know that it gives you a slight advantage, but it is only relevant on the lowest ranks. Icc has been told how to detect it, so I advise against using it there. http://winner.cspsx.de/Starcraft/Tool/Chaoscoach.zip

can u maybe add a tool that reveals whole map? id like to use such thing to learn timing attacks properly, thanks in advance.

tyvm MoC Now, a BWCoach-esque thing for BOs... just dreaming

you could include a small message at the start of the game that informs the opponent, although i haven't tried it i think it gives quite an advantage. Even the best players forget supplys from time to time in an action packed game.

It's not really a hack, I tried playing a game vs a computer (albeit with my sound turned down) and it just basically makes an annoying noise when your supply is low, minerals are high etc.
Just only use it when sparring with friends.

Also an upgrade that gets these tedious macro stuff off your shoulders. Like, enhancing the script's power so that it can even decide what unit to produce on it's own, etc. I would love to focus on my micro, to produce better quality games.
On a second thought, maybe we could upgrade the script so that it does micro for us, too, so we just watch over the battle like a true commander. I mean, commanding each individual unit real time? Have you ever heard of someone responsible for armies doing that? Where's the strategy, the greater concept, the underlying genius?!

Thanks a ton MoC, I was really looking for something like this
and lol @ the sarcasm ...and at the broken detectors;0

I don't think this is a hack, simply because it doesn't tell you/do anything you can't normally do. You can check your supply/buildings in a second, all it does is check automatically (basically like progamers brains are trained to ^^)
|
Oh hey cool
Hey MoC, can I make a request?
I would REALLY REALLY like an addition to help with color blindness. If you had an option set that would change what shift>tab sets colors to, so that I can manually choose what color I show up as and what color my opponent shows up as, that would help me so much.
Of course this would only help if it is something that's possible to be used on iccup.
|
I don't see what's wrong with this as a trainer to help you get better...
Granted, if you run it in an actual competitive game (in a tourney or something), there'd be problems...but as long as you're just practicing, there's nothing wrong with it.
|
good for training but same as hack
|
Nice but it seems a little unfair .
|
Does this include a clock?, if not, it should. Should also have like a configurable ideal supply counter or something, if thats possible. I dont know anything about coding so..
|
This is very useful for new players but for normal player, this may cause problems, at least for me...
|

Well congratulations on not using it, here I think I big reward is in the offing for someone that turns down graciously provided tools and fails to read the OP, and then bitches about being nagged by sounds which is exactly their intended purpose, to nag you into playing better. Nice job And yeah, I think adding a message to opponents at the beginning of a game would definitely be a good idea (If you don't hook into SC, I can give you some code I have for the RWA plugins that allows you to call SC functions from other processes)

well, I'm sure (not sure, becuase I haven't figured out how to write scripts for it yet), but it's possible that you could have it use the chat function to put allied chat only that it's on. That would store it in the replay.
The fact that iccup admins can detect it though means that it's not *that* big of a deal- the competitive ladder will be just fine. Since Iccup can detect it, it's a training tool- nothing more, nothing less. They'll probably toss it into their antihack launcher, so that you can't play games with this on as well as ah on.
|
of course this is a hack that gives an unfair advantage. Also I don't see how anyone gets better if they don't learn to check psi-count or mineralcount by theirselves. I hope this hack tells your opponent that its on.. and in the very beginning of the game before the hacker switches "to all" off..

Having very similar thoughts. This surely is helpful, but I think it could have an opposite effect. Once this tool is on you dont have to think about minerals/supply and without being forced to focus on it you won't create a habbit of doing so. Makes sense?

Cool, but this is only for that map, yes? So if I play on iccup on someone else's map (since i can't host I always have to) the colors will go back to normal?

And (going along with your thought process here, not necessarily agreeing) so what if it is a hack? ICC has been notified of how to detect it, there is a disclaimer not to use on ICC (and implies any type of competitive match), and was created with the intention of not using it later on (I'm sure B level players don't actively use the live APM tool). Stop bashing MoC. He's the man. And he's staff.

It's like setting an alarm every day for a week to go off at 5am. If you turn it off on the 8th day you'll still probably wake up because your body is used to the timing. I think this has the potential to be a good macro training tool if people use it the right way.

Make sure you've extracted all the files in the zip file, because lualib5.dll is included (and therefore should be found by the plugin).

I just downloaded the latest chaoslauncher and there was no lualib5.dll in there. I'm gonna try an earlier version...

ok, so i extract this inside the chaoslauncher folder. Am I suppose to be able to config it inside the launcher?

If this is a hack, then so is playing with a friend next to you mentioning these type of things.
|
I don't see how people can consider this a hack. All the info this program provides is available in the UI. Supply, minerals, and building completion sounds are all in the game already. You can't be better off than someone who doesn't have it... annoying sounds going off every x seconds, as compared to looking at the top-right corner every x seconds. What's the difference?
If anything, it might make you reliant on these sound alerts rather than looking up the resource counter or developing your own internal clocks or whatever. Which can be worse in the long run. Being depedant on third party applications is never a good thing.
The idea is OK, though. If you could have alerts guiding through a BO, that may be cool, like BWCoach I think, for practice. Past practice it would be useless as well - once you got everything memorized, you don't need sound alerts at all. You know when you screw up, no need for buzzers.

So you would not mind if I made a plugin that warns you from incomming dropships into your vision? Because thats also availiable from the GUI.
btw. I consider this no unfair advantage, because as already said someone could stand behind you and tell you about all that stuff (includeing incomming dropships). This is just for the poor lonely fuckers who have noone to stand behind them and teach them. This is like KeyCraft, APM-Live, BWChart and such, sure it gives you an advantage but its so little its still a very fair game. Its not like you suddenly win 90% of the games vs an opponent you lost 90% of the games before such tools.

you cant, because its using code manipulation and that would be detected as hack by the AntiHack of ICC.

Seconding the color-blindness plugin to changing the shift-tab colors to something specific. It is such an unfair advantage that I cant really see when someone is on my mini-map due to not being able to tell colors apart. This would help me (and others im sure) so much. It would be really greatly appreciated if you could look into it
|
haha this is sick man. thanks
|
I want to see someone use this on fastest... lets see how many alerts they get.
Basically this is someone standing over your shoulder and watching the game... Which does give an unfair advantage up to the point where people's macros start getting to be really good.
Now if he added an alert to tell you when an opponent's unit shows up in the minimap... then I'll consider it a hack because even progamers have a delay in seeing drops.

with this you can change the minimap-colors of the players. values from 0 to 255 are possible. the color number relation can change with the map, this is just a simple cheat engine trainer so dont expect to much.
