tbh, I'd consider FFVII the best game ever. I figure the main game of starcraft, the campaign mode, is alot weaker than the campaign in age of empires, settlers or Rome total war.
And its really only got such a great multiplayer because it got played to destruction.

Wh can't I compare an FPS to an RPG? Which one do I want to play tonight/for weeks/for years? The one I like the best. How the hell do I know that without comparing them?
There's just this strange cult of not comparing things that runs rampant on the internet. Back in the day during the Winamp/Sonique debates people were saying you can't compare them they are too different - and we are talking about two audio playing apps.
I'd rather spend my time/money on what's better (for me) and I do that by comparing things.
tl;dr - "you can't compare apples and oranges" is a shitty truism.

You can try, but it won't make much of a difference.
GFAQs is one big FFVII and Link fanbase. Nothing will ever beat the two on that website :\
