ORIGINAL INTERVIEW IN KOREAN

BeSt ain't no thang for the Dino Toss.

-Thoughts and feelings on advancing to the finals.
▲ There's something I said before moving on to the Bacchus finals. I said that if I didn't win the title, I would probably never make it to the finals ever again. My performance slowed down following the loss to Flash, and therefore, I honestly didn't expect to be in finals this season. Of course I wanted to, but I had to face some very tough players on the way. I was especially stressed for this semifinal match against BeSt. For the first time I actually got angry at my teammates while practicing. I want to say thank you to all of my teammates who helped me tremendously.

-You are the fourth person to make the OSL finals at least three times.
▲ I am happy I achieved that record, but I am embarrassed I am the only one without a title. Hearing that fuels my desire to win even more.

- You lost the first game, but you easily won the second.
▲Somebody actually recommended me the build that BeSt used to beat me in the first game. But I wanted play a management based game. I think Best gained an edge in the mental game before the match even began. It was difficult to prepare for five games with such limited time, and I ended up resting for an entire day, too. I practiced some all-in builds without much success. I finally decided to look through some VODs of SKT1 Protoss players on Medusa, and realized that they all used only one build in PvP. So I concentrated on the four-gate build and perfected it this very morning by practicing it countless times. I thought even a 3:0 victory could possibly happen because I spent a lot of time on preparing for game one as well, but the loss made things much more difficult.

- Your Reaver drops were very efficient in the third game.
▲There's a crucial element to remember when using builds like that. Opponents react to Reaver drops by transferring their probes to the natural minerals, so it's important to drop the reaver on the pathway that the Probes will be clumped. It doesn't matter how well the scarabs explode, but rather how clumped the Probes are. It's close to impossible to avoid significant Probe damage.

- The strategy you used in game 4 seemed very good.
▲ I didn't decide on a specific build while initially preparing for Plasma. Different players from different teams have extremely varying play styles and strategies. Through more practice, however, I found out that proxy Gates caused serious trouble - I took full advantage of that. If I managed to find his base right away, I was planning on doing the proxy Gates in base. I would have just done manner pylons if I hadn't. I was really hoping to scout him first. Best delayed my first pylon with nice Probe micro, but his reaction to the proxy Gates was slow because he was completely caught off guard.

I'll take you to school, BeSt.

- Thoughts on the maps that will be used in the finals.
▲ I was hoping Plasma would be used twice, but the finals map selection ended up being pretty hard, similar to my past experiences. But I think I will be able to win if I prepare like how I did for the semifinals.

- It's an excellent chance to win the title.
▲ The results have not been good in the finals because I underestimated my opponents. Both Flash and Jaedong were the players I had beaten earlier in the Round of 16. I was definitely overconfident. But not this time. I practiced against Fantasy while preparing for Round of 32, and he seemed very good.

- Isn't Fantasy a relatively easy opponent?
▲ No, I don't think so. I have lost to Fantasy a lot in the past practice games. I think I beat him in the Round of 16 because I prepared heavily. Data suggests I have an advantage, but that's certainly not the case. I will not think of him lighthly; I am fully focused on winning my first title.

- Coach Choi (iloveoov) probably helps Fantasy quite a bit.
▲ I think it will be either strategies based on the metal game, like Flash, or just well-prepared builds. But worrying about that too much might mess up my game. Teammates told me that Coach Choi mentioned my name in his interview so I went to go look at it myself. It worked as a strong motivation to win today. I will think of the finals as a match not only against Fantasy but also Coach Choi, which will push me to prepare even harder.

- You have to play in the Round of 16 MSL.
▲ ForGG warned me twice I better show up to the match hundred percent ready. Teammates cautioned me because they could feel the "force" in his interview. I think ForGG said that so he could win fashionably, knowing that I wouldn't be able prepare very much. MSL has not even been on my mind yet...I don't even know the map order for sure. I think I will go home, buy my teammates some good food, and go to sleep. I will be playing tomorrow without much pressure.

- Any last words.
▲ I want to say special thanks to my teammates yoOn[s.g], Brave, JangBi, Endless, and TT. KTF Violet, Lecaf BackHo, CJ Jjonga, Free and Guemchi from Wstars, and MBC Jaehoon all gave me wonderful support. I also wanna thank CJ Much and WeMade Pure for providing me with tips on builds and strategies. eStro Tester and STX Kal helped me out as well. I am thankful for all these players who made practice that much easier.

I was even thinking about writing a list of all of them, but decided not to because it might disrupt my game. Teams have different schedules, and most of them have much earlier bed time than we do, but none of players refused to practice with me.

I felt the exact way today that I had felt at Bacchus Starleague. The number of fans who came out to support me was similar, and my seat felt nearly the same, too. I advanced from the Round of 16 with three wins, and won 2:1 in Round of 8. I also faced Best and Bisu in the Round of 8 and the semifinals. The loud roar of the fans sounded the similar. But it was the loudest tonight by far - I could feel my heart tremble.

I almost teared up hearing my fans even after losing Game 1. I was amazed at all my fans who were willing to support me no matter what. I think that that provided the energy and the focus needed to win Game 2, Game 3, and Game 4. I hope you could all come out and cheer for me at the finals too. Something unusual and different seems to happen when I hear my fans.

GO GET EM STORK!
[This translation is dedicated to my boy Stork]

Beating Flash and LJD a few times "earlier" as basis of underestimating them? I like Stork less and less each passing moment

That's some many big practise partners he got there no wonder he won . Much always has great strategys in mind , but can't execute them perfectly and Pure has been raping for Wemade for some times now .

Edit: lol

I have to say, slowly my hate of Stork has kind of died. It's like I don't even care if he gets silver anymore, you have to figure it's almost inevitable he gets a gold eventually if he keeps playing like he does, right? I kind of hope he faces Bisu in the MSL finals and Bisu lays the smack down though.

Great translation. I'm surprised he's gotten so much advice from non-Khan players. I wonder how much practice Best got from others. Even more strange that Much helped him out, considering the history between Samsung and CJ.

I think he'll still roll over ForGG in the MSL though. ForGG's mechanics isn't at the same level as Best. So Stork could probably just play standard, which is harass into 2-base carriers FTW. :D

Excluding BeSt and Bisu (who for obvious reasons wouldn't practice w/him) that's 5 of the next 6 highest ELO rated Protoss players that he practiced with (JangBi, free, Much, Pure, Kal). Talk about a brain trust. The only one he didn't practice with? Anytime, who couldn't practice with Stork if he wanted to. (he's in basic)

Wow man, this was an excellent pvp! Im so glad stork won, I wanted him to win. The first game was insane! Best won an uphill battle basically! They both lost so many reavers, it was awesome how they kept trading armies. best certainly showed his skill.

The second game was like a complete shut down, I don't know much about pvp, but when I saw the expo obs, I knew best was in trouble. But he did well against the manner pylons, didn't really lose probes.

The third game. Holy crap was that sick. Stork had some effin HERO drops, those things killed sooo many probes, it almost looked too good to be true seeing all of best's probes die. But he obviously worked like a madman on those drops. And then best started harrassing storks 3 bases, I don't know how stork pulled through, but it was really crazy.

That last game was like the most brain dead abnormal play I had ever seen, I thought only nalra and garimto would be able to summon up that kind of ridiculous play, but the gates IN HIS MAIN!? I can't even describe how awesome it was when he was manner pylon-ing him and even that pylon powered his gates too and kept a flow of zealots. And then he just pushed in and kicked some trash.

Stork looked so happy, he really needed this win for alot of reasons, and I wouldn't be suprised if he takes the finals from fantasy. Who I actually wanted to win from the start, but this will be one heck of a finals, Boxer Jr is gonna slay that old Dinosaur and give him a hundred more silver medals. KACKOW!

Best probably practiced verses similar players. Much and Pure are the only ones who actually gave advice and helped Stork (excluding teammates), the rest just agreed to play games vs him. They could have done the same with BeSt, which is highly likely.

Stork this is it take what belongs to you. You have been more consistent than anyone and you have worked too hard to just let it slip by again. You got this homie!

imo Best was really ahead all game long. He killed what like 7-8 probes in the zealot rush?

Oh yeah, he did, but at one point stork had alot more units on a ramp and somehow best climbed up and kicked storks trash. it was pretty amazing. I guess I should of been more specific. Pretty crazy micro.

That's human nature.

Anyways, I rooted for Bisu against stork in that epic OSL finals, but I'm starting to come around to Stork. I've certainly never liked Best, and I have no clue whom this Fantasy kid is. I don't want another one time Starleague winner that fades into oblivion like Mind, Anytime, and so many others and I think that Stork has worked insanely hard to get here. I think he deserves a gold and if he can't get that he should still deserve our respect as one of the greatest Starcraft players of all time much like NC-Yellow.

So that is why I'm rooting for Stork in this final. But if it were to come to it, I would still take Bisu > Stork any day of the week.

If you like someone you like him always not only when he does cool stuff, noobs

Shit you liked him before it was cool to like him? Sorry all the new fans will go away now.

I like Stork but Bisu is way too underrated for someone who has the best PvZ and I saw a lot of potential in Best. I think Best has the potential to reclaim the Protoss throne if he can be mentally stronger during games

You don't get tips like that very often guys.

Someone (Fakesteve? Nony?) said that Best was "patient" in his reaction. I thought it was slow. I thought that BeSt could have also thrown down a pylon or two in such a way that Stork couldn't have thrown down a gateway.

Yea, seriously. The only PvP players he didn't grab were like, Pusan and Bisu. Oh, and Anytime and Reach, but they're military now.

He had a lot of commentary about how all the players from the same teams played the same style. Interesting.

Nice interview OneOther!

LOL. Did they really ask him that? The interviewer is basically saying his opponent is weak.

Jesus I can't help but to respect Stork for some reason.
It's like it always has been.
You think Stork is super fucking hot right now because he beats someone super gosu.
Then he enters the finals...
For fuck sake if Stork doesn't take this finals, he'll never take 'em.
The way he beat Best just makes you want him to win this... Fantasy is good, but he's not on the level of either Best or Stork..
I really really hope that Stork wins, but I wouldn't even be close to surprised if he actually chokes once again... it's just like you cannot really trust this guy.
And that's probably what makes him so easy to dislike.

"In many portal sites, his name popped up in the rankings. Also, after the 24th and 25th where he victoriously finished his Bo5 and Bo3, many in the Starcraft community are saying that Stork has the possibility of entering the ranks of Bonjwa."

Stork for president Bonjwa!.

stork will lose this final not because he choked like last times but because fantasy will simply outplay him like stork outplayed best here.

and it'll be a nice ending with some life truths to be learned etc

the only thing more beautiful than winning by trying your best is losing even though you tried your best but still going on
