- It's your 4th consecutive 16th Round. Hwasin - I thought I was getting eliminated. After losing game 2 to FBH I was 80% sure I was going out.
- You played 2 matches against FBH to make it through. Hwasin - I think the battle cruiser switch was a mistake in game 1. I wanted to fill up my 200 pop but the result was a failure. In the final match I was able to drop at 6 where there was little defense and so I took the spot easily. I knew I would win if I just focused. During Jangbi and FBH's match I was rooting for Jangbi.
- You should a lot of determination in today's matches. Hwasin - I saw an FBH interview awhile ago and he gave the expression that he was a level above me. Reading the interview I was determined to win and entered the match with that. Today's score was 1-1 but in the end I survived so I am the winner.
- Why were you so focused on playing with FBH Hwasin - At the Group selection ceremony I couldn't stand watching FBH diss Savior. Savior is a champion and has a high name value. He was once considered the bonjwa by the eSports community and to look down upon him like that is disrespectful. Listening to FBH talk at the ceremony pissed me off. I consider Savior someone I have to catch up to but FBH just disses him and that pissed me off.
- You are 0-7 on Katrina. Hwasin - I wish Katrina disappeared. During practice I have no problem on it but when I go on stage I lose confidence. I'm not sure why myself.
- On the other hand you have a good record on Blue Storm. Hwasin - It's the opposite. During practice I struggle on it but on stage things just turn out well.
- You will play against someone from the Free, Oov, OriOn, Flash group. Hwasin - I haven't played many TvZ's lately so I want to play a Zerg. But it doesn't really matter who I play.
- I hear your team is on break. Hwasin - After Proleague ended everyone went home. Only me and Kal and a few practice students were left behind to practice. Calling other teams and getting practice partners, and asking teammates who are on break to help was difficult. Kal who's already passed the MSL stayed until today to help me practice. I'm very thankful to everyone who helped.
- Your goal this tournament. Hwasin - I looked at my fan cafe and they say this tournament's my best chance. Because Bisu and Savior, the players who usually stood in my way are all eliminated. I want to win too but this time I plan to be calm and focus one step at a time. Each game I will do my best.
He seems so "no-bullshit" about his interview. While other players try to make themselves seem nice and give rehearsed answers, it seems like Hwasin's like "I don't care, this is how I feel, and I'd be cheating you guys if I said anything different." I like that.
Maybe he does have some personality. He just needs to show it some more.
Great! Thanks for the translation. I watched the games without knowing the results before hand, when I saw fbh's damn smile after the first game I prayed for the heavens that hwasin would come back and finish him later on!
I feel love towards HwaSin when reading this interview, way to go. Now only say that you love BoxeR, too, and you got yourself almost all of TL.net as fans :D
edit: Thank you for the translation obviously, kudos!
Great interview . Thank you very much, Live2Win. I like how he respects Ma Jae Yoon and what he is accomplished. And at the most I like that this gave him motivation to beat fbh. I will watch closely Hwasin's games in Ro16 . Go, go, Hwasin - your new fans are supporting you.
Meh, Hwasin is still a boring generic Terran but props for taking action against FBH disrespecting Savior. What would be much better though, is that if someone on Khan talked to FBH to try to understand why he does these things and talk him out of making himself and his team look like immature kids.
By the way, if Hwasin advances to the ro 8, he will face off with the winner of Jaedong/E2 (most likely JD) so we will finally get a chance to see a Jaedong/Hwasin bo 5 which was so anticipated in Ever OSL. Hwasing is probably going to end up getting raped granted that Jaedong is on fire and that Hwasin choaks.
it was during the msl selection. I cant find it on youtube
FBH said something like I want savior because he is easy to beat. Savior responded by saying that FBH was just trying to get the PSP. Hwasin moved FBH and said:

Agreed. It's nice to see he hates FBH, but I'm still not (and I never will be) over the shit he pulled.

I've been a Hwasin fan for quite awhile and rooted for him up until his loss in the last OSL but I think Hwasin may have a very good chance to take this MSL... we haven't seen his pro TvZ in awhile and honestly he's a good candidate to take on Jaedong. I'm gonna root for him once again and hope he makes it.

HwaSin, I forgive you for IEST. I forgive you for raping my liquibet in your group and giving me 1/4 I forgive because you give sAviOr the respect he deserves <3
after hearing that Kal stayed at the practice house during their little break to help Hwasin practice even though he's already in MSL ROund of 16 himself...
I wasn't too happy with Hwasin after IEST either but I hate FBH more and Hwasin's comments about Savior I thought were really cool. Disrespecting bonjwas, old or new, isn't good.
Besides, the enemy of my enemy is my friend right?

yep and honestly i just read hwasin's rage against FBH as just more arrogance... like the best BW players should be treated as gods just cuz of their skill
Great interview thanks. Hwasin definitely earned more respect and so has Kal. I voted Kal for the best newcomer 2008 and now I'm glad to know not only is he good, he's also not a douchebag.
^_^ that's my Hwasin, really like him from the beginning. I love his playstyle, his personality as well as his habit of wearing glasses when playing and taking them out when done.
very good interview. this makes me like him more. i didn't know who to root for in MSL as sav/bisu were eliminated, so maybe i'll be rooting for him a little now

Why do you say that?
PS: I've heard hwasin's voice on youtube videos, and it doesn't fit his face xD. I was honestly expecting some sort of high pitched sound as he opened his mouth, but i was wrong.
obviously I'm new here so I'm going to speak carefully... but I've been reading and watching for about a year...
I kind of think the amount of flak FBH gets on here is ridiculous...if anything he's one of the better Terrans, and he never fails to entertain (which makes him one of my favorite players). About his disrespect to Savior - yeah its excessive and unnecessary, but obviously he knows his strengths. Obviously knocking on savior isn't going to gain you any popularity, but I dont see anything wrong with having a mental lock on someone and using that as an advantage. If he beats him consistently, then he's not just a big mouth. His numerous ceremonies might be seen as a diss to the other player, but as an impression of a well-known Korean comedian, it doesn't seem that way to me. It just seems to me that he takes the game more lightly and doesn't mind making it interesting for the audience. I don't see his behavior as any more immature than football players who celebrate after their touchdowns. If anything he's just an entertainer in a sea of reserved and uptight peers. Whereas here is Hwasin getting a bunch of new fans, after he and another player blatently rigged games in another tournament (don't know too many details about that so I'm not driving it home).
Either way, surely FBH knows he's going to have notoriety but I think people 'screaming' "FUCK FBH" on the forums constantly is a lot more disrespectful than anything he says or does to his opponents with a light heart. that said, best of luck to fbh (and hwasin) in the future.

After IEST, and Hwasins attitude (and how he fucking cheated pusan from an msl thnx to abusing a gay spot in desert fox) i will never like him Infact, i don't even hate FBH

I've strangely come to dislike FBH less and less as people have continued to come down on him for his douchebaggery.
The kid is having fun and messing with people. His personality keeps things interesting and stirs up controversy.
Hwasin on the other hand, shits on foreign tournaments (why he would play at all if he's going to have that attitude is disrespectful in itself) and then turns around and plays high and mighty about a couple of comments said during a hype show for group selection.
I'm joining the "Fuck Hwasin" group without hesitation.

This man speaks the truth.
The FBH hate is ridiculous. He's a great player for keeping things lively and interesting.
On January 14 2008 15:17 Live2Win wrote: FBH deserves the hate he gets. You can't go around talking smack about someone and not expect to get hated on.
FBH dances because he's happy he won, not because he disrespects or hate savior... Indeed, the anti-FBH sentiments in this forum is ridiculous, but its just proportional to the amount of savior fanboys in here. IMO FBH deserves more love for making the SC professional stage more interesting to watch with his crappy moves, but sadly some people take such shit too seriously.
Its disgusting for me to see how Hwasin thinks he has avenged Savior with his 1 victory over FBH. His performance has nowhere been as good as FBH yet he sounds like he pwned the guy with his eyes closed. So yeah, till Hwasin can pull off steady wins, Im joining the "fuck Hwasin" group too. Although i truly believe he should quit SC and join the Savior fanclub as a full time fanboy, there he can lick savior's ass as much as he wants without people complaining how bad most of his games are.
And btw, hwasin should realize Savior is cool to fight his own battle and defend his own honor. He doesnt need fanboys doing his revenge for him.
I don't dislike FBH because he's a douche. I dislike him because he's a bad sport. Acting like an ass is all well and good... But acting like an ass in the face of a worthy opponent just makes you a jerk.
Hwasin... I dunno. If he was really in cahoots with Calm in that tournament than I won't like him either, but it's hard to tell. Personally, I don't believe it was just trash talk if things went down *exactly* as the /tell said. Plus he doesn't seem to have any kind of interesting style or anything... I guess I'll reserve judgement on Hwasin for now.
really the only douchey thing fbh did was that one dance around savior... the rest of his dances seems to be pretty much just for the amusement of his fans.
great interview though... I feel like too often we foreigners never really get the inside scoop on how the players themselves are actually thinking about the games and other players.

So steve how you doing on liquibet this season?
Kal doesn't suck. He's a solid protoss.
Honestly I'm indifferent to FBH and Hwasin. I'm a fan of Savior though, so I like this interview for that
FBH acts like an immature kid because he IS an immature kid , as are a lot of the young progamers. Remember, a lot of them aren't even upper classmen in highschool.
FBH's dances are alright, however I think the incident that Hwasin is talking about is some comments FBH made about savior recently on television. Perhaps L2W could provide some more solid details.
Nice interview thanks for translation. However I really don't like Hwasin, probably never will. Not to mention that his games are the worst kind of Terran boredom.
I agree with VioleTAK, I would pick someone like GoodFriend over Hwasin in terms of which player is more fun to watch any day. But props to Hwasin for bringing it to FBH
I kinda like FBH:s playstyle though and don't really care about his persona but I dislike his arrogance.
Some of you Savior fanboys screaming for FBH's head (specifically those going on about "disrespecting the Maestro" or some such) are really sounding like what you are really screaming for is for Savior to shove his dick down your throats.
Yes, Savior used to a fantastic player, and I do like him, too, but he's only human like the rest of us, and just like the rest of us making fun of him is perfectly legit. People have the right to insult other people. You can agree with FBH's personality on principle or not and it's a perfectly fine opinion to think such behaviour is out of place/over-the-top/unsportsmanlike, but a lot of you sounding like you'd be perfectly okay if FBH danced around anyone other than Savior have some self-reflecting to do.
HWASIN FIGHTING, THANK U FOR OWNING FBH AT THE END THANK U. Yes, I highly agree with hwasin that FBH is very bad mannered and someone should make him cry. plz someone make him cry.
Savior has earned respect and should be treated differently than other people in this matter imo.
Ofcourse its our right to pick on people, although it doesnt mean that its ok to do so.
I dont like hwasins play but i like his personality, also i dont give a fuck about IEST, it was a korean who won so its the same thing, they were probably going to split the money anyway. they can't help foreigners suck:/
I wonder how people would feel if players started to disrespect Boxer, would that also be perfectly ok?
also nony, savior doesnt have to be treated as a GOD, but a little more respect wouldnt hurt. I dont hate FBH but i dont like his style, too immature for me...
Haha no love for fbh but some people here need to calm down. Maybe FBH is an immature kid. Maybe he is disrespectfull to savior. But that's the ketchup for my fries man. After all it's just a game/sport and the only thing savior has to do is beat FBH. That's all it takes for him to shut up. Because his whole ignorance is based on the fact that he beat the maestro.
The problem is that we all know what savior was in his prime, and we don't wan't to accept that such a guy won and then used the upset repeatedly to do his little dances and disses. You might hate him for that, but what you really hate is that the maestro somehow can't overcome fbh. And that gives the guy more fuel for the fire, unintendet or not.
Fact is now savior and fbh are out. And all the little talk was for nothing. Hwasin can try to backup (or dicksuck) savior all he want's, but in saviors prime a player like hwasin was nothing more than a terran to walk over. Savior gave Nada some respect for obvious reasons even in his prime, but hwasin is and was nothing more than fbh. One of many terrans. They might be good at certain areas of the game, but that's the fuck it.
So i give hwasin some props to speak of his mind wich is good and nice. But the only one who has to speak here should be savior. And he should do it trough his games by beating fbh. That's all there is to do. Until that happens, fbh can do the fuck he want's. I'm not mad at him, i'm dissapointed in savior.

Word. Kid wears rid lipstick also. FBH actually has some personality.. Watching him nuke rush in semi-won games really shows his style. Whereas Hwasin is pretty much boring all the time in a sea(shield lol) of already boring Terran players.

Amen. You guys do realize that these players get coached on how to do an interview as well as what to say? A few comments and everyone jumps onto the Hwasin bandwagon (ROFL!). You are worse than Leafs fans.
FBH is very different from the other stereotypical pro gamers and Korean culture in general. He's an entertainer. I see nothing wrong in that. There are no rules against what FBH does. He's got Savior's number like Bisu and few players can say that. It's a mental block and all FBH is doing is adding to it. Nothing wrong in saying Savior is easy when he beats on him all the time because it is simple fact until Savior proves otherwise and right now it looks like he is turning into the IPXzerg of old.
More on Savior. yes he deserves respect for winning several tournaments but he is also pretty stuck up on himself as well in case you forgot. There is a thin line between cocky arrogance and confidence la.

Hwasin just dropped 2 tanks in a small spot blocked by a doodad on the map. I don't get why anyone even brought this up, it's a map and he exploited an area like pro's have been doing to all other maps...

The situation is simple. I like Savior. If someone targets Savior, his fans (like me) will target him back. FBH targetted Savior and humiliated him. Therefor I hate FBH.
Is that such a difficult thing to comprehend? Am I not allowed to dislike someone who wants to humiliate someone I look up to?

He's got Savior's number like Bisu and few players can say that. It's a mental block and all FBH is doing is adding to it. Nothing wrong in saying Savior is easy when he beats on him all the time because it is simple fact until Savior proves otherwise and right now it looks like he is turning into the IPXzerg of old.
More on Savior. yes he deserves respect for winning several tournaments but he is also pretty stuck up on himself as well in case you forgot. There is a thin line between cocky arrogance and confidence la.
You guys are all saying the same shit over and over again.
What's the big problem here. If you like FBH, then fine. I hate FBH, for everthing he does. Get the fuck over it.
Heh this got my forgiveness for the IEST incident. But then again, FBH pissed me off cause no one remembers when he cried his eyes out for getting pwned in semis at OSL that time. Plus he looks like a doofus.
Also how could anyone say Hwasin is "just another Terran"? Hwasin was the one who managed to take both Bisu and Savior to their limits DURING their peak era.
I like FBH because he actually has some personality , not like a mechanical robot a lot of these other guys seem to be.
He's like the dark horse / badass of progaming , he makes things fun and interesting, and he's good for the spot. On top of that, he was in [LighT], so he's fucking awesome ^_^

it was during the msl selection. I cant find it on youtube
FBH said something like I want savior because he is easy to beat. Savior responded by saying that FBH was just trying to get the PSP. Hwasin moved FBH and said:

FBH fans, read the sign that made national TV, then cry online.
I like Hwasin now.
Wow. Did you even think before writing up this sign? I cannot believe you would bring a sign humiliating, and disrespecting a progamer and have it shown on TV. How does that make foreigners look? What if you wrote, FBH = FAG, TL represent. How would that make our forum look? It's fine for FBH haters to talk shit on the forums, but what you did is unacceptible.
I wholeheartedly agree with this. He's giving TL.net a bad image as well.
After that, you don't deserve to represent us at all, even more so, I frankly believe you derserve a ban. Such a disgraceful attitude.
You can hate FBH all you want and its not wrong, just like how some people hate hwasin or savior, but insulting him like that on national television is just plain wrong. If the person who put up that sign is a member of this forum, than he deserves a ban.

Hwasin is Savior's no. 1 fanboy, and he's not ashamed about it. XD

I guess a more accurate translation is "did not make me feel good" or "made me feel angry" or "made me feel bad".
But when I translate things I prefer to translate it so that it makes more sence in English. "기분 나빴다" makes sence in Korean, but I felt "pissed me off" translated the meaning more closely... perhaps it over-exaggerates what he means though.

기분 나빴다 translates better into something like "I felt irritated" or "it irritated me."
i don't think "I felt pissed off" fits the context very well at all. I mean, he wasn't pissed lol.

Wtf why does he deserve a ban? Don't get the impression he's representing the whole foreigner community/TL.Net because of the word "fag."
It does say TL.net on this one, but that's another banner. But writing "FBH = fag" was still a very stupid thing to do IMO. You were lucky they didn't understand what it said.
Not only stupid but disrespectful. I understand the hate, whatever, but please know the LIMITS. What if they have people who translate the english signs seen at the games. What if they do figure out that FBH was called a homosexual. What are the Koreans going to think of foreigners then? This guy gets a low salary, has to practice 10+ hours a day. He is just trying to be different. Who the hell wants to be just another terran. Yes he does stupid shit, but don't get so worked up over it and bring signs publically disrespecting the player, and making a bad image for yourself.
Also, I thing we have to be content with the fact that Savior CAN'T beat FBH.
I just realized no one here knows what the Korean forums are like.
If you could read Korean and read FiFo forums, it would disgust you. Of course no one would do that on Korean TV, since Korean TV is censered so much and they wouldn't catch u on camera, but the FiFo forums are like garbage.
i actually really like both hwasin and fbh, but im when i clicked this thread lil surprised it wasnt an anytime interview i very much want to hear how the sashin the proleague mvp feels about his chances personally

They probably visit family and friends during the break period (that is, if they didn't qualify).
man, can you imagine the flaming fbh would recieve if he did that shit to boxer, reach, nal_ra or any of the old school pros that EVERYONE on this forum would follow to their demise? seriously, its just opinions of fans on hating fbh or not. all the ppl getting so worked up about how hwasin has no credibility, that picture of fbh=fag and wahtever need to loosen up.
lol I like how some of Savior's fanboys absolutely freak the fuck out about shit like this, then turn around and tell other people that they need to chill. It's one thing to be a fan of a guy, it's another to be completely obnoxious about it and repeat shit like "DIE FBH FUCK YOU FAG DIE DIE" all the time. Then it's just annoying. And pretty ironic when accompanied by accusations that someone else is being immature.

Lucky? I'm positive they wouldn't. 2nd, I had to post it here for anybody to even notice it, that's over a week old. 3rd, almost 99% of anything on that sign was a complete joke, because for one, the US is a joke compared to Korean bw; and two, FBH wasn't even playing the game that sign appeared.
Next, FBH's half best is better than I or most people on here will ever be so in all seriousness, it's far from serious.
Eh i dont like fbh's attitude but that sign seemed sort of... Hes still a good player Nothing bannable but still.
gogo hwasin im rooting for you since savior fell T.T i like his baby face
TERRANS ARENT BORING WE'RE AWESOME Its because of people like you that i played only 1 tvt so far on iccup out of like 20 games ;; Discouraging the newcomers from playing terran.
This whole controversy about the FBH = fag sign is ridiculous. I can't even believe a ban was recommended--for something done outside of the TL.net borders? For calling FBH a fagqueef?
1.) Everyone knows it's true. FBH is a fag. 2.) Even if that was only one person's opinion, why the heck would you take it so seriously? Keep in mind that you are watching a televised VIDEO GAME. There is definitely a limit to how seriously you can take esports, and I think that limit stops somewhere short of getting offended when someone flames a korean progamer. 3.) Trash talk is something that comes naturally with sports.
I thought the sign was awesome. Actually, the sign itself was an indicator that the foreign community cares enough about starcraft to actually follow certain players and like some, dislike others.
I find it funny that FBH is teasing Savior due to the fact that it gets to Savior shown as he literally ran out of the booth after losing to him last time they met. FBH takes advantage of having a psychological edge on Savior, and given how good Savior is who wouldnt use it to their adventage ? Its like Boxer teasing JinNam and JinSu because they would always lose to him. Savior being superior skillwise is something Im quite sure FBH knows deep inside. Calling it disrespect is to take it abit far. More tongue-in-cheek teasing. But thats my opinion.
I also find it amusing because Savior himself used to be cocky as hell in his prime with his yawn rapes, and the OGN thing during a MSL group selection. Smart players would just ignore FBH because thats the wisest thing to do. Getting pissed only fuels the fire, and now FBH knows he can abuse this to his adventage until Savior actually wins against him.
I enjoy FBH and Chalrenges ceremonies as they spice things up, same shit with rivalries, and trashtalk. Its all fun, and not serious. Hell I even had a laugh when Rock(a player I hate with passion) did the "By.BaBy-lift" after his victory against Best in PL.
That being said, I was never a fan of Savior, but I respect him alot as a player. Savior fans being pissed is only a natural thing. It gets serious when your hate for one player outmatches your love for your favorite player though.
Oh and the "fag-sign" is taking it too far. "Hasu", "Babo" or something like that would be more appropriate.
You know, if FBH were a more accomplished player who produced some results, I might feel differently. But as it stands, he just comes off as a douche with nothing better to celebrate about because beating sAviOr is basically the best thing he's done in his career.
Just look at the TLPD achievements section. sAviOr - 8 achievements firebathero - 0 achievements
This is why I give sAviOr respect, and why I don't care for FBH at all.

People like FBH and Chalrenge gives SC some personality, sorta like the McEnroe's did with tennis. Here on teamliquid we care a whole lot about how good each pro player plays. In korea they care about the same thing too, the difference being that SC is entertainment for them vs the gameplay value most of us care about. Plus FBH is someone you love to hate. So back to HwaSIn, he really felt that he wanted to give FBH a new one for being a disrepectful douche, which would fuel the hype of their match. For people who complain about the "fixed" match between him and Calm (and I honestly can't figure out why they people a problem with this)
1. Did Calm and HwaSIn cheat their way into the finals by hacking/use of other cheating methods against the people they had to play prior to getting there? Probably not... I think they got there due to their own skill, and HwaSIn had to go through Sheis too. Testie, LeiLei, and others couldn't beat them. Since both Calm and HwaSIn got to the final by owning everyone in their path, can they not do whatever they want in the final?
2. If they were afraid of HwaSIn and Calm splitting the money they shouldnt have allowed more than two people from the professional team. But they did. As a matter of fact that probably wouldn't have mattered anyways.
and finally, 3. Who played in the final of that IEST? You wanted a good game from them? In their minds they did what they wanted to achieve in owning every non-Korean and getting rewarded for it. And they got to that final match legitamately, so from there on they have every right to do what they wanted legally.
If it happened in the WCG what could someone do about it? They have to beat the Korean players right? But they couldn't, so you or anybody can't do crap about it so why waste time bickering over something that really isn't a bad act? FBH haters, I can understand that. Hating HwaSIn for that one thing, are you serious?
On January 18 2008 06:22 MorningMusume11 wrote: People like FBH and Chalrenge gives SC some personality, sorta like the McEnroe's did with tennis.
There are key differences between FBH/Chalrenge and McEnroe that I find extremely important to mention.
First of all, McEnroe has seven Grand Slam singles titles and is former #1 in the world. FBH may have the skills, but he hasn't produced a single win or runner up in a major event yet.
Second of all, even McEnroe showed some class in his epic Wimbledon match against Bjorn Borg, because he had respect for the man's skills, and for the game. FBH so far has not shown his capacity to give respect to Savior, and until he does, he does not deserve any respect.
McEnroe got a lot of negative press for his shenanigans, and if it weren't for the fact that he backed it up with results, he probably would have been shrugged off as a bad-mouthing little prick. FBH, as it stands now, it just a bad-mouthing little prick.

And to add on,
Progamers are known by their names. Only few are known by their IDs too. Obviously most korean fans know the famous ones like BoxeR and YellOw, but only serious fans know the IDs of the semi-popular ones. Now FBH's ID is known by the fans more than other regular progamers are, but not as Firebathero. He's known as braQ (브라끄), the ID he's been using. On top of that, for the very few who would relate Firebathero to him, even less would realize FBH is an abbreviation of FireBatHero. Which means connecting "FBH" to "Lee Sung-eun" is nearly next to none.
And, the word "fag" is not a word known by most Koreans.

that's completely wrong, he bowed to boxer twice
hes not that bad then ^^ I dont care for his ceremonies the only thing i didnt like was when he beat savior in msl and than ran behind him
I would say that the best person to bring into comparison would be Terrell Owens. When he was still playing on the 49ers/Eagle he was pretty much an attention magnet. Why? Because of what he did. Sure, he made the touchdowns and brought many viewers....but he had a history of showboating. Whether those were excessive or not depends solely on each individual. Personally, I thought that the spike on the star logo in that Dallas game was a bit too much....you're in the stadium of the opposing team and you actually disrespect their logo? Of course that's going to generate hate from others. Still, karma has a funny way with things....guess which team TO's playing for now?
As for the Hwasin hate, oh please. Whether he did converse with his partner about what strategies to use, what does it matter if he even did? They're getting the prize winnings from it, they did their part. They're getting paid to win, not to entertain. It's just the hosts of the tournament usually put winning and entertaining in the same category. All you people who say about Hwasin having a boring play style, well he does what needs to be done. Does he win? Of course and that's all that should matter to him. Personally I thought the so called "rigging" was the right thing to do on his part. He had to fly back to Korea that night for....what was it, an MSL series or something? Forgot what it was, but he had a much more important game that night and it's really rather exhausing having to play seriously AND fly afterwards just to play some more. Apologies on all the NFL references, but that's really the only other thing I watch on TV nowadays. Teams that are winding down in the season and have an excellent record, they're guaranteed a playoff spot. Whether they lose the rest of the games, it doesn't matter. They all bring out their sub-par players, the B team if you will. It just makes no sense to play their best players in a situation where nothing is gained from winning or losing....why should this be any different? Of course the fans who paid for their tickets want to see the better players, but the teams choose to send out the lesser ones. THEY don't get any heat for it as it is a safe move. Why should this one?
i agree. i used not like hwasin so much, the whole stx team in general, but after this interview, i think i can giv hwasin (and kal) a chance =) people forget that hwasin's ace matchup is tvz, i think he's a favorite for the championship.
Hwasin is definitely not the favourite in the MSL. Hwasin is facing Flash in the MSL ro16 and possibly Jaedong in ro8. Also don't forget that he is a choaker. I think (and hope) that Flash will defeat Hwasin, once again cutting his path short. Flash is a newer and far more exciting player than Hwasin. The only thing Hwasin has going for him in the excitement department is TvZ. I wouldn't actually mind Hwaisn beating Flash as long as he faces Jaedong. I hope he pushes Jaedong's ZvT to the limit (but looses 0-3, just to dissapoint you new Hwasin fanboys :p) in very close and exciting games.

lol Terrell Owens is so bad-mannered it's off the charts. It definitely works to get attention.
This actually reminds me of a big issue I have regarding the whole FBH topic. A lot of people mention that this brings more attention and gets people more "interested". But there's an important difference between good attention and bad attention. IMO the kind of stuff that FBH does creates a negative image of gamers and the progaming scene in general. In the struggle for e-sports to be taken seriously and more accepted, it really doesn't help to have a guy like FBH running around shirtless and with a pool tube no less. His antics run the risk of making the progaming scene look like a joke, which I would hate to see happen.
