1500 would be three times the current ladder pool ( roughly).
Finding 1000 bw players between korea, china, vietnam, mexico and peru is completely realistic.
I have never run a bot on bnet, but if it needs to be done on the korea and american servers, I could. Although, it seems like it would be kind of begging the Corpo to fuck with us, so it could be a bad idea to shit on their shit on their shit.
WDYM? Like advertising? I think people are aware of SB by now.
MMR bot been running for at least 6 years btw:

On 11 there is actually a playable casual player pool. (For what casual can mean on bw) I'm not sure there is so much more "bottom of the ladder" on bnet
I think the problem lies more in 1800+ mmr where having someone close to their level is more important to them

What I meant to say was that there are a lot of smaller bw communities around the world, that haven't played together since iccup, and I imagine that we can (overtime) get 1000~ or more additional players.
Knowing about shieldbattery now is not the same as before. This is the best internet experience since game launch. I have never seen MMR bot or heard of it, but it's dope that work has already been done.
Maybe I'm wrong, I just feel like opening up China could populate the server for years. They had alot of bw players. And that's the biggest boom I have been finger crossing over, I want the hard work that went into this project to result in a place people enjoy for years.
Edit: Just finished reading an old thread from 2017. Are we sure that Chinese people can access SB?

there are low rank players on sb. i usually find games in about the same amount of queue time as on bnet tbh.
i'm pretty low mmr (idk how to make sense of the sb rank but in recent times been hovering in E rank on bnet though a few years ago when i was more active i used to oscillate between D and C)
not sure what casual players look like for bw, the distinction is kind of false. but idk, like, fighting game players found services like ggpo/fightcade back in the day pretty easily

We've seen a few Chinese users although I don't know how they're accessing the service. We're working on securing a better route to Russia and China anyway, just to make connections smoother.

VPN? Seems to be a common thing for them to access western websites like YT anyway
