hate to be all negative, but i'm not too hyped about this. i mean come on. his gameplay is pure boring 99% of the time. very rarely do we see an exciting/entertaining style from him (game 5 osl finals excluded). if someone had to return from the proverbial grave, i think everyone would have prefered "HIM."

rofl wtf, that's just wrong.
Boring players are Hwasin, Goodfriend etc but Nada has a certain flare, and style and control like no other. Besides his multitasking is inhuman at times and he has made so much pimp micro stuff I can't even begin to count them.
I'm all for this, if that poem was a true story, then he will always be remembered by me. He will come back in shape. This isn't athletic, he still has high APM, and he just needs mass practice!

I wouldn't call him back yet, he made msl and osl this season and fucked up horribly, and July just didn't seem to be doing very very well in the game they played.
I'd say he's back if he actually makes it to a single elim round in a league.

That is actually not nearly as bad, because while Bisu, Stork and all recent champs are all about gameplay, we all know NaDa is beyond it. He can beat anyone, we all know that, so his games don't even consist of strategy and execution, they are all about will, determination, rises and falls. NaDa's wins and losses have nothing to do with his skill and game understanding just because of how long he plays SC for. His games are all about his psyche, his own fight against himself. That makes progaming kinda very exciting when you start seeing psychological aspects of the game. NaDa's struggle, Savior's badass-ness, Boxer's and Ra's "old gentlemen are having fun remembering the days of old" ("next game I will nuke you!" (c) Ra), Iris'es "NO YOU WON'T", even FBH's retarded kiddish fun. After some point watching progaming you hardly care about strategies, micro or macro, the players themselves are much more interesting. NaDa is one of those players. He is a personality, that's why I kinda love him.
As much as I'd love to see him back in shape, I fear it's still too early to say he's up there again. Remember, a top shape NaDa 3:1ed Iris and Savior in the Shinhan Masters last year! We'll at least have to wait until he proves himself winning a bo3 against Bisu or Jaedong or so before we can be sure.

So true so true. Btw. speaking of determination i tought his girlfriend was the reason he slumped again. He wrote that letter last year before the finals wasn't it?
The game against july was kinda mediocre from both if you ask me. I'm a die hard nada fan but i'm not convinced he's back. There'd be no better thing but i believe he does not have a real reason to fight again besides beeing a progamer.
I believe he can raise his game as soon as he believes there's something on the line for him. Be it the respect from his family, the golden mouse, or beeing the most succesfull progamer.
His multitasking and micro can be fearsome but even when he lost against savior he was better than against july. He hardly moved in time out of the swarms (sometimes stayed in it) had some un-nada-like holes in his macro and his drops were completly half assed. He didn't even used them as a decoy.
I mean this guy is able to multidrop someone and still manage to micro all his marines out of danger zones. Remember when savior dropped him with lurkers and he killed em all with a ridiculous low amount of marines? Why did he hesitate for so long after july fucked up his attack?Just because some things didn't work against savior last year doesn't mean he can steamroll other zergs with his multitasking. He should just play his game again and not hesitate.
Not only did he win against Pusan, Hwasin, and July, he also alllllmost won his game against Jaedong. He had it in the bag, and then just randomly left his ramp unguarded and that lost it all for him.
Eh... I didn't watch any of the games but Pusan isn't that great, and Hwasin and July aren't exactly consistent. Although it's a step up from losing every game, I somehow doubt he's magically in top form now.
so is he qualifed for the next msl or osl. either way he's definitely the most consistant terran ever I think. I've never liked him that much since he's a 400 apm terran totally different from the style i'm used to but despite his fast hands he's extremely smart and have adapted to many generations of strategic trends to be able to succeed at the highest level. props to him for that.

Yeah, but I'm rooting for him because I remember when he just exploded my whole concept of TvP. It was balls out, none of the slow pushing shit. He harassed like Loki and then rolled out with an army mightier than Zeus that shit-stomped whatever pastiche of units the Protoss had cobbled together.

I don't think he really fell as far as some people were saying. Even in his "slump" getting out of Starleagues he went 12-12 in Shinhan Proleague 2007 R1, being Pantech's workhorse. And I don't think a 4-0 streak, albeit against a couple good players, is enough to say much one way or another either. 5-4 this Proleague season looks pretty much the same as last--it's just a 2-0 Survivor group against Mr. Name Recognition yet not that good anymore (July) and a weakish newbie in Violet. Admittedly, I didn't watch the games, so I can't say all this with confidence.

After boxer, I think Nada is the holder of most pimpest moves... Barracks hop, spire/ultra cavern wall, medic wall, etc... comon, this guy is a genius.

NaDa is everything but standard. Guys stop making fales statements please. He is a very special gamer. Just because he is a monster in terms of multitasking doesnt mean his play is standard. Seriously. His play isnt standard and ordinary, at all.
The thing about NaDa is : For him people define slump in a different way.. No wonder.. with 3 OSL's and 3 MSL's won and playing at the top for 3 years and near the top for all together something like 5 or 6 years now.. well.. for sure people call it slump if u dont do it anymore.. but what NaDa did, does and hopefully will do is simply unmatched and i highly doubt anyone will come close. And to all the guys who are anti NaDa and ect.. : For sure right now there ARE better players. But just look for how long they do as good as right now.. thats exactly what NaDa is outstanding at. Even more so : He is just keeping up with the new gamers.. No matter how much u like NaDa as a person or a gamer. U can simply not deny what he did .. He's just the most accomplished player we've ever seen and if u ask me we will ever see..

The amount of micro required for TvZ is a joke compared to ZvT, as well as unit prepping and unit combo. Zergs practically go through their entire arsenal to vT, AND their best combinations don't kill expo CCs when they overpower the defenses. Not to mention it's taken years for the maps to final catch on and not be completely range-biased and expo-biased.
So yea, unless a T plans to blaze some new trails like UpMagiC, it's already been done.

It's funny you'd mention defiler when it's tier-3 and requires 150 gas a pop + 50 min every swarm, 3 gas to terran's two.
What about irradiate? Do you have any idea how much gestation time and attention it takes to make/use a lurker? 75 nrg from a vessel and it's dead.

Nada when he is in shape is like the best sc player in the world. He accomplished so much and seeing his execution is so awesome. His macro during his game vs Up on arkanoid still makes surprises me.
Hate to kill this but this letter NaDa wrote was a couple years ago after he slumped terribly after his father's death iirc. He got out of that slump back at the end of 2006 but dropped off the map again after Shinhan Masters.
I think it's awesome to see him amp his game up... yet again. NaDa I think is a very up and down player. Sometimes you see him freaking own and dominate for an extended period of time. Then you see him slump like no other for an extended period of time.
What's so cool with NaDa is that hes been in the domination zone at so many points in the starcraft history. His MSL run topped by the Panasonic OSL victory in 2003(Not to mention his KT-KTF#1 victory), then the IOPS OSL, YATGK MSL final, and KT-KTF#2 domination until the semifinals in 2005, and now most recently back to back OSL finalist and the Shinhan Masters in 2007.
And it's not like he was lucky getting only a certain matchup(well in IOPS he only faced Zergs+Oov, but thats an exception). When I first saw him in 2003 I was most impressed by his TvP. In 2005 his SKTerran was revolutionary most notably on Luna, and his TvZ seemed to only get competition from July and GoRush(who btw were as good as they've ever been at that time). Even in his offperiod at the end of that year he played one of the most impressive games Ive seen against July on R-Point playing pure SKTerran. Then finally he removed any doubts about his TvT by raping good Terran players back and forth in Shinhan2&3 OSLs. His rivalries with players such as ChoJJa, GoRush and most recently Savior(if you can call it a rivalry) have all been distinctive as those rivals were never again able to reach the same impressive state(note that Savior isnt invincble any longer). I do regard his rivalry with GoRush as one of the best, and the series they played against each other had everything: incredible display of skills, atmosphere, style, tricks but most importantly drama.
I don't think we can call NaDa back quite yet. He has been playing pretty well lately, but he keeps barely getting knocked out of the early stages of the starleagues. Of course, he just beat his MSL Survivor group, but we'll have to wait and see how he does in the actual MSL. He got out of the Ro32 (or something like that) in both leagues last season, for instance.
I dunno.. I guess I just don't want to get my hopes up too much, is the thing. I love NaDa because he's got a great playing spirit... whoever said his play is boring apparently hasn't watched any of his games, because he's always trying cool stuff and has the balls to do stuff like run through swarm into an enemy base. But he keeps letting me down... He has won some good games lately, but he hasn't been owning them in his old style. They've been just good, standard wins, not really "back" NaDa wins.
I probably sound pessimistic, but I am hopeful. He stands a good chance in the next MSL..
Nada is an exotic phenomenon of Korean genetic combination patterns. He is one of the most inspiring personalities of the modern world in my personal view. I believe. I will ALWAYS believe.
Wow, that is one of the most well made SC highlight videos I've ever seen. Especially the composite screens giving a larger picture of the battlefield.
NaDa was basically giving an analysis of his gameplay when he was very behind in the game vs foru. foru had 50 gateways and NaDa never gave up hope and said he was gonna keep on fighting til the end and he ended up winning.
Wemade has a solid core of players now: NaDa, Casy, Mind, Rock. Expect them to make a big splash next season. :O
Casy is in the tank and Rock hasn't been spectacular recently but mind will definitely take a lot of pressure off NaDa if he continues to play at a high level.
