the only reason this thread was made was problably his losing some games in tlt. Those games mean shit. YOu think he plays seriously every game? C'mon I don't even play half of my games seriously. Point is; Elky is good but nada/boxer/xellos are better. Does that make him a bad player. No.

If we hit that bull's eye, the rest of the dominoes will fall like a house of cards. Checkmate.

ElkY is this good

- Ranked #8 among terran players of all time.
- Ranked #15 vZ player of all time. Over is the likes of Garimto, HOT, Nada and Yellow.
- Ranked #18 TvP of all time
- Ranked #8 TvT of all time.
- Ranked #10 TvZ of all time.

Now, these are in no way accurate uip-to-date statistics as pgr21.com record every tv broadcasted game. But it is still impressive as hell.

(btw, boxer has an all-time tvz win % of 70%. How scary is that)

As far as I remember, ElkY made a streak of 8 straight wins in SKY starleague, defeating Jinnam, GARIMTO, Oddysay, Sync and Chojja before losing to Reach. He also had some wins from the duel and challenge league I think.

Even more impressive was Boxer himself in the same tourney, going 10-0 and finally beating TheBoy's old record of 8 straight. Raped ElkY 3-0 in the semi's as well.

There's no much point of having a discussion about it... seems to me that you guys think it is hard for foreigners to beat korean "progamers" and you get excited about elky winning some games vs them. Well guess what they can play 24 hours a day 5 years straight and still only the talented ones will be better than talented players of other countries. Only if two almost equally gifted players have different ammount of practice this would make a difference

If you think Koreans have some special genes that help in gaming you are complete dorks. Just look at wcg it was in their fucking home and still half of them didn't make it through the groups the first time around, and we all know it didn't run smooth at all the second time around. All of a sudden they looked like casual gamers when they faced foreigners, but you guys only needed to see them in their stupid space suits next week to restart praising the godly skills of each single one of them.

There are probably 30-50 non-korean players in the course of bw history that would do as good or better than Elky in Korea if they had the opportunity to go there and wanted to remain there ;(.

No he wasn't. Did he suddenly get stupid? Did he suddenly forget how to do things he's done for years beforehand? no.

Comparatively, he hasn't been increasing in skill at the speed that other progamers are but he hasn't gotten worse. ;(

Yea yea yea, cut the bullshit. There is no way pro-gamers from Ktec can get that much better than much faster than Elky.

Also, if Grrr.. can get worse, anyone can get worse.

WCG isn't exactly a theory. Every time when foreigners meet the 'top 4' Koreans at WCG the Koreans suffer losses and yet everyone thinks they're godly or something. Why?

(though there's not 30-50 people who could do as good as Elky)

Well why don't you look at how many of Veg's games are on Bifrost and then you'll understand? Veg is good yes, but he is master on Bifrost and pwns everyone.

Still the Koreans usually go 5-2 or 6-1, which is a VERY good winning percentage against some top players from around the world. Expecting all 4 koreans to go 7-0 and win the top 4 spots is unreasonable. Plus, the competition for this year's WCG will probably be a lot tougher than previous years

Uhh I think it'll be easier to win this year's WCG than last years. Why? One word: Boxer.

NaDa?

Altho I would think NaDa is less scary than boxer (for non-koreans) because of his style of play..

hee hee i think its funny how people are saying how gosu veg is over elky because of stats.

have a look at the last 14 ppl veg played. They ALL have WORSE then a 2-1 win ratio. Else just look at madcows account and you will understand that stats mean very little
My hope is one day stupid people will feel the same pain when they talk, as the pain the rest of us feel when we hear them. Twitter: @Legionnaire_au
