<vs Free>
Q. Did you check zealot first opening vs Free with SCV scout?
I don't miss stuff like that.
Q. Why he decided to do a timing attack
Saw free's adun with dropship. Because of this, I knew there wasn't any possibility of Reaver tech. Since I already got complete map vision with mines, skipped even getting siege mode.
Held making up to 5 facts until latest time possible. I had easy time getting 3rd due to mines. I also thought I was not disadvantaged at all at that point, but when I checked replay, i was a bit behind.
There were mines at Free's 3rd, and thanks to that, I was able to get good engagement when attacked with timing.
It didn't matter even if it was blocked. To block that attack I did, Free was forced to put all his focus into macro and fighting, while I was able to tech up while pushing out and keeping up macro at the same time.
I baited out and forced out the multi-tasking battle.
<G1 vs Snow>
I didn't know Snow would be so greedy in PvP with 1gate FE when it was against random me.
I was bit stumped there. My original plan was to do ninja expo with speed shuttle. If i didnt find out him going FE at natural, even if my ninja base was operation, I would not be in good position.
From this point, I began to have upper hand, and began to do fake out so that I prevent opponent from finding out my natural timing.
To hide fact that I skipped dragoon range, I avoided attacking with dragoons as well
<G2 vs Snow>
As soon as I saw Snow's nexus first, I thought "this guy is freaking crazy". I felt like he sucker punched me. But my unit control was really good today. So I won.

Those comments vs Free really shows the depth of thought that goes into games at pro level. Absolutely nuts

Did you mean micro and fighting?

Thanks so much jinjin!
Would love to hear Snow's thoughts vs Flash as well. Seems like Snow may have mind-gamed himself. Going FFE against Flash's random means he expects Flash to macro cheese, regardless of race. Also, as evident in G2, Snow probably underestimated Flash's ballsy-ness to fight head-on in a mirror match.
Snow may have just unwittingly scared the shit out of the rest. Sure, Flash's micro as Z and P may not be as good as theirs. But his fearlessness and flexibility will definitely stress them out even more.
Flash definitely scored a huge psychological win last night.

I’m thinking the match ups Odds at this point look like this:
TvZ/P/T: 80/20
PvT: 60/40 PvZ/P: 50/50
ZvT: 40/60 ZvZ/P: 20/80
The only reason I think his ZvT is that high is his unique understanding of the matchup. Similarly for PvT.
Only ZvZ/P Is his Biggest weakneas. But sense there is only 1 Terran left, it’s very likely he will have to play a series where 33% of the time, this will be the case

I feel that Flash's ZvP will be quite strong. He excels in early game when he's able to exert map control and pressure. Flash "'hydra good unit" swarm mode will terrorise any Protoss going FFE (or force them to play more conservatively).
That said, with Best and Snow still around, his odds will be lower this particular ASL.

I doubt anyone's going to FFE against him: it'd be blindly choosing a build that's not even that advantageous against flash's worst race at the cost of instantly losing the game if he gets terran or protoss.

Thank you very much for this jinjin.
Any chance you can share with us what the reaction from the korean netizens was to Flash quali in first? Did they expected it or were amazed? Or did they blame Snow?
Thank you once again

Perhaps it exists and I haven’t seen it, but man what I wouldn’t give for guys like Flash and other top pros breaking down a series or a set in real detail on stream.
Happy birthday oh drone of the flying variety!

gosh , flash is such a genius

He needs to write StarCraft Bible when he retires. But hell no, I wanna see him squashing noobs even when he hits 40.

While that would be awesome, I worry that if he wins an ASL with random he will just retire. He's done everything up to this point and now this is the ultimate challenge, if he wins this challenge what's left for him?

well, i guess losing to effort doesnt even bother him, thats not a challenge, the last time they faced flash didnt even show much passion about it and moments later he retired for a year bc of arm issues. the real challenge was the best zerg in the world (jaedong) and flash surpassed that one. effort is just some unimportant homework to do.
