Let's hope this thing takes on a life of its own so that I could step away and return to my own life while those more qualified than me take over. Yesterday we had the following 2v2s: dandy+babo vs scan+depleted dandy+babo vs scan+terror dandy+babo vs depleted+terror

However, the matches would have to be preapproved, so get in touch with me beforehand. They could also be 2v2. I would need to know all the names of the players (preferrably S rank or high A please). We also need the players not to stream those games, or to share the replays with anyone. Doing so would affect their participation in our future events. Small requirement in my opinion. As an aside, it is my sincere hope that if we are able to continue these events on a daily basis, that it becomes a collectively run organization within the SC community, with people contributing by way of participation, casting, offering feedback suggestions, etc. so that no single individual or group has 100% control over it or solely financially benefits from it. A sort of (Robert) Owenian cooperative sc event run by and for the wonderful BW community, provided egos, petty disputes, compensation discrepancies, etc. do not get in the way. I would expect most of any revenue generated to go straight back into financing show matches so that wiggly and I do not pay (as much) out of pocket. Of course I understand some people may need partial compensation such as observer, casters, key organizers of events who work on it day to day. I am looking forward to stepping away and allowing others who genuinely care about the community to help maintain and build whatever this is. Just some thoughts of mine any way.

I watched some of the series yesterday. Some feedback on lag, battle.net. SC:R still lags when it's across continents. At least to korea for most europeans, americans. So the days when we pressed savegame to see the lagscreen, then typed "Stop porn dl!" In caps lock to the playername we saw is over. The Distance itself just increases lag. So the southamerican or the korean is not more at fault than the other for laggy games. Having multiple observers in that kind of game adds to the lag. So I'd keep that for when all players, observers are from the same continent. If it's cross continent players, the others can commentate from the stream. I liked the chill vibe, the actuall chilling in a channel between games. So casting from replays might take away that live feel and sitting in a lobby together. For higher quality games, less risk of "drama" about lag it's better. But if the players agree to this set up they should just be mature about it, play under some lag. And I value the spontaneuous chill vibe. Brings something extra as most foreigner events cast replays. I can't think of another chill showmatch channel with livegames, good players. Also, the one with the best connection should create. Of one of yall sit on a good connection then let that one host. It helps a little at least afaik. Turnrate is a thing to. If you're creating a game for them to play, the players are from south america and korea then there'll be lag, Blizzards dynamic turnrate setup works worse. From my experience and from what I've seen players do is that they play with a set Turnrate, usually 14-16 as pre-set(people pretty much hunch on which TR it likely should be stable on based on experience of different distances). The top players have all played eachother, know these things better than I do, so I'd suggest asking em before a game about set TR(if they're from different continents). And if they only want ro play without obs first then sure but yeah I liked this as a viewer. It could make running it a bit smoother, perhaps stop some unnecessary "drama", like yesterdays. (Correct me on these Turnrate, lag things if I'm wrong. ) And np about the commercials. Imo most BW streamers could do more of it. If it's to help the scene a 30 sec break between games is no big deal. Keep it up! Step by step we make Brood War great again ![]()

Please consider supporting, financially above all! 40 individuals donate $1 each = $40 show matches for four 1v1s or two 2v2s 400 donations of $1 = 40 show matches etc. The money goes strictly to players, as our transparent donation system shows. For now we are financing these events, but it would be nice if BW community members started to support their own players a little bit more. Read more about our collective enterprise on our (i.e., YOUR) discord channel. A platform for and by the BW community.

With this initiative, we are testing to see whether there really is a unified and supportive BW community to speak of, which is devoid of segmentation (along ethnic/regional lines) and proprietory elements looking to benefit for themselves in some shape or form.

We will be streaming tQ $ show matches three times a week now, on fridays and saturdays (and the third day is still under discussion, to be announced very soon). Advance notice of actual show matches to take place on a particular streaming event will be provided (hopefully) on this discord and other places to hype up the events and players more. But this really depends on us getting those matches done in advance. We are now looking to organize the best show matches possible, with a focus on balanced and anticipated match ups. Please help us by getting involved in the matchmaking process with suggestions or if you're a player, coordinate with your opponent to set one up but remember to get approval from me first please. No lopsided match ups. We are looking for GGs. We need to make the show matches as entertaining and exciting as possible. Foreigners will be paired up with foreigners and koreans will be paired up with koreans. We would like to include both types of players, but we are looking to do more foreign matches to support the community outside the mecca of sc (korea). Most of our streamed events will be of replay $ matches (I imagine) but we will try to do live games as well where possible. I think our streaming time on fridays and saturdays plus another day to be announced will remain the same for the foreseeable future since we have other commitments. All of you talented and interested players on here, please help me set up a good $ show match with you and a formidable opponent to help this platform grow. It's here to support you all. Thanks for reading.
