I think the most important point is early game build optimizations. If your foundation for your play isn’t perfect, then everything will be thrown off and you’ll start making more and more mistakes and relying on control to make up for simple shortcomings in economy. So yea...early game optimizations and scouting/adapting are the most lacking.

Great interview. Her point about scouting and early game optimizations really goes to show how much of the game is memory and akin to playing a music score and nailing it perfectly. Too bad getting to do everything perfect is so tedious for the average player, probably because much of it is you vs the game, more than you vs your opponent.

I'd like to have more examples of stuff like foreigner replay analysis where she goes "this foreigner made this mistake" to illustrate the point better. When pros say "early game mistake throws the whole foundation of the build off" it's hard for me to figure out concrete examples of this.
