Not trying to complain but the grammar in the JD vs Rain portion was pretty iffy. Perhaps get an editor to proof read these?

I don't know who to root for in Rain vs JD, I'll be happy no matter who wins but I guess I'll predict Rain 4 - 3 Jaedong.

In game 1 of (P)

Best vs

Rain,

Best made the Critical mistake in PvP of letting a Probe get into his base, this lead to a full scout from (P)

Rain that after confirming that (P)

Best went for Robo 1st made the correct call of going to take his ramp, if this Probe didnt get into (P)

Best's base, this series would have went to game 5, 100%.

Also in the same game, (P)

Best could have easily won if he didnt lose his shuttle + reaver for no reason (he didn't unload his Shuttle) he was in a super strong position with reavers + goon defending an all in attack, but his nerves betrayed him.

After this huge blunder in game 1 (P)

Best lost his cool, and keept making silly micro mistakes game after game.

Also game 2 was super unlucky for (P)

Best literally a 1 hp DT got into his main and from that point the game was unwinnable (had later Nexus, was mining of 1 base, and killed his own probes trying to storm the dt). This kind of risky play (diving 2 dts into 2 cannons "whatifigetlucky" move) is what makes champions when skill is too close between players.

When (P)

Rain said in the post game interview that he got extremely lucky this series, he wasnt lying or being modest.

Best of luck to (P)

Rain i really want to see him win this tournament vs 3 of the strongest players in the world, even tho i wanted Best to win, i think Rain is a better protoss candidate because his PvZ is phenomenal compared to Best's.

Predicting Rain 4-2 Jaedong and Soulkey 4-1 Last. I feel Rain will that this tournament as well. Would love to see JD win though.

I think Soulkey would beat Rain in the finals. Even Last vs Rain would be epic.

Nah, SK wouldn't beat Rain. Rain's vZ is too good for SK. Regardless, Rain won't make it that far. Let's go Jaedong and Last! A TvZ finals between these two would be sweet and whoever wins will have finally taken a finals win in the post-kespa era.

Excellent write-up as usual! Proud to be part of the broodwar community.

My heart roots for JD, but I predict a clean 4-1 win from rain. He will push out at just as he has 3-4 hts and together with the zealot/dragoon/corsair ball - he will crush jd's hydra/ling + mutalisk army w/ minimal lurker support. JD will probably win skne game from his aggressive style.

As for Last vs Soulkey, I hope last mixes things up with mech transition play with valkeries or something. If not, I for see a 4-2 in favour of soulkey.

Thanks for another great write-up. This is imo one of the best semifinal brackets we could have hoped for in this tournament. Will be happy with any result as long as we can get good games. That being said, Jaedong fighting! I irrationally believe!

When Soulkey played Rain in the ASL4 group stages it just looked like Rain was a nervous wreck and fell apart. He kept making sloppy micro mistakes all that game. But maybe he was out of shape then? A rematch would be epic.

Man you can clearly still see the passion in the starcraft writeups on TL. It's not as big a scene for dollars or viewers as some other esports but the effort put in by the writers on this site is still fantastic
