Game 1 - WCG2010 match played on 8/22, Grand Line SE+ Show Spoiler +
Game 3 - WCG2010 match played on 8/22, the site google translates the map name into Soul of Fighter, so I think it might be Fighting Spirit, but according to the calendar and thread it should be Match Point.+ Show Spoiler +
Very good play from Jaedong, pretty much 1 sided but really good execution. Really shows why a few valks few vults few mm few gols few tanks build is hard to execute...
Set 3 is a crappy game but if you don't know results and watch first 2 its a good game to watch.+ Show Spoiler +
They try to mindfuck each other by going 14cc and 3 hat before pool in the first 2 games to open up with super aggro builds (9 pool/2 rax) and the oopsies!
WCG 2010 Grand finals are also up on youtube under the username "WorldCyberGames"...Might be useful if WFBrood or Youku buffers you for a LOOOONG time...
(I uploaded the WCG Grand finals + 3rd place to the VOD tracker...stupidly I forgot to refresh the page to make sure it hadn't been done by somebody else...S2Love uploaded the grand finals just before me, but my torrent also includes the third place match?
I don't want to duplicate anybody's work, but also don't want to not seed it so if any mods see this and care, perhaps take a look and see what should be done about that)
When it doesn't seem like a recommendation means as much as it used to, and when SC2 is now becoming overexposed compared to the BW scene, I think we could use a bit of old-fashioned hype here.
The recent MSL semifinal matches (already recommended here) deserve even more attention than they've received. If these games don't reinvigorate your love for BW, I honestly don't know what will. When you feel the excitement of the commentators and crowd, you can't help but get into it, and when you realize the skill and perseverance of the players involved it really makes you respect the game so much more. While I enjoyed the entirety of both series enough to want to watch them all again just writing this, these specific games are must-sees:
Game 1 Game 3 These aren't your usual epic TvTs. These are not only epic in length, they're completely action-packed games where you won't know who is going to win until it's over.

Game 2 Game 4 - This is literally unprecedented. Insane.
I agree JD vs Light was a good series, but i fail to see how that game was "literally unprecedented."
... it was literally unprecedented in the sense that it was literally unprecedented... Did you watch the game? That had NEVER happened before. + Show Spoiler +
To my knowledge, ZerO once managed to infest a Neutral command center, but that is not the same.

To be fair: there have definitely been infestations of enemy commands before (for example see sAviOr v FBH, their famous long-ass game on Python (?)). However to my knowledge nobody has done it so early in the game, as a follow-up to muta harass. It's always been a late-game tactic, and usually a celebration. JD made it look like it had a legit midgame application

Yes, exactly. There have been a few infests over the years (and even some infested terran usage), but two things made this a big deal:
- Infesting 2 out of 3 CCs. Usually if a CC is infested, it's happening because the game is near-over and the zerg has broken the terran's natural anyway, which in case is only one CC infested. Whenever there have been multiple CC infests (very very few games), it has never been two CCs right after each other that were so meaningful. Usually it happens at some outlying bases that would have been shut down anyway. Furthermore, Jaedong effectively shut down two thirds of Light's bases, and those were bases that were in such close proximity of his main that you'd figure such a play impossible.
- The infests actually achieved something Jaedong could not have through other means. The first CC could have been killed by mutas, but the second was being repaired and goliaths and a valk were shooting at the mutas. If you watch the health of the CC closely it's clear that he could have not killed it. Infesting it was the only way to take it out. And actually, you can make a case that the first infest saved enough time that Jaedong was able to mutas down to the other CC fast enough to take it out as well. Usually an infestation is sealing an already done deal, but in this case it was actually a valid strategy as well.
I am almost certain that an infestation with the same tactical purpose & that early has been done before, but only to one CC. But maybe my memory is playing tricks on me. It just looks way too familiar. But anyway, Jaedong is just fucking brutal. What an extreme baller.

I thought there was a game in the TSL or some other foreigner event where a queen infest was done deliberately after an early zergling harass that somehow brought the CC down in hp. All I remember was the game being on bluestorm, but I don't have the details.

Wasn´t that Mondragon, that promised some friend to infest a CC if the opportunity arised? Not on blue storm though, i dont remember that being in the map pool during the TSL 2.
yeah sorry, I guess I just figured the dong has raped with packs of mutas before, i didnt realize how flawlessly he pulled that off, clearly part of his plan from the getgo and using the semi-island nature of that back expo to take advantage. although he could have just left his mutas there for another 6 seconds and the cc would have been dead anyways, not like the CC did anything after it got infested.

The whole point was that he saved time and damage on his units, as well as made it impossible to recover it beyond a doubt.
