The community at large is still figuring out how to position SC2 and BW. It would send a message if a pro ditched one game for another and they are probably not 100% sure yet on the optimal strategy for communicating changes without damaging their bottom line.

Yeah i don't understand this part of the equation either, the whole still being contracted by EG thing is so weird.

They just want to have his cute face on the EG website.

He's a big face for EG and if they think he's still playing SC2 they won't cut his contract. He's probably saving up and even arranging something with Afreeca so he continues to have a steady income.
BW overall has more money but if you're not streaming it you may as well be playing Hello Kitty Island Adventure

Now their budget is what, 3 times as much?

The last time he officially played sc2 was in code a in february. Not entirely sure about his contract length etc though, but iirc i read somewhere that he actually extended it by half a year or something. Weird situation imo

But nobody thinks hes still playing SC2. There is literally nothing for him to compete in for the rest of the year, it makes no sense to keep him on contract. He used to stream SC2 when he was still playing, I don't think he has streamed it in aaaages.

Same for Idra as mentioned a couple of posts before this one. Who has the donger? Evil Geniuses owns the man, the myth, the legend Lee Jae Dong. Shit looks good on paper whether he's playing or not.

I read the same thing on Jaedong's contract extension. I wonder why EG signed him for another 6 months when he isn't playing. Unless EG is planning on keeping him on the team when he plays BW (which would be weird).
I am guessing we'll find out in November, but it sucks I just want to see him play. I don't care if it's BW or SC2, just want to see him play again damnit!

Maybe Jaedong initially wanted to continue SC2 when he got his contract extended, but then he changed his mind afterwards. It definitely would be weird for EG to expand into BW considering its sponsors have the most relevance in North America.
At least Jaedong's twitters aren't completely inactive.

iNcontroL is a really cool guy, it would be unexpected yet unsurprising to see EG expand into Brood War. Aside from Afreeca BW pros lack a steady income and there's a lot of demand for BW progamers in Korea right now.
I know iNcontroL isn't the owner of EG but he's a big piece of it

But there have already been pros that ditched one for another. Heaps did when SC2 came out, and heaps have switched back.

I know iNcontroL isn't the owner of EG but he's a big piece of it As much as I love Geoff and agree with your statement of him being a big piece, I sure do doubt he has anything to do with Jaedong's contract and/or his recent situation.

Maybe we can petition EG to let Jaedong stream BW? I doubt he could get the best training by having a new account all the time

What has the quality of the training to do with the amount of accounts he is going through?

You have to get the account ranked up which can take a couple dozen games, then you have to get the proper people to play you. At Jaedong's level everybody knows everybody and people will dodge nonames because they could be cheaters or something.

I thought Savior has been playing for a while. Is he playing more actively or something right now?

No. Since he was prohibited from streaming Overwatch,BW,SC2, etc. he won`t stream anything related with esports.
