This is a very effective way to get the most factories on the least amount of screens possible. That way you don't have to move the screen too many times to macro from a lot of factories. As long as one side is clear, then units can spawn. (Machine shops don't block your units from spawning) | ||

I think what is important in that setup is that there are 2 squares between machine shops and factories, otherwise units spawning from factories with machine shops could not rally properly. | ||
