You need 6 dragoons to one shot an SCV, and you'll only achieve this number before tank is out when going 2 gate. Still, terran can hide the SCV into the bunker (avoiding the shot) or just pull back the SCV so dragoon take dmg from marines. Trying to run into a base is a risk of getting caught by a bunch of scv and losing all dragons. Losing too many dragoons or taking too much dmg (especially if you are 1 gate expaning), can resutl in an immediate counter attack from terran when he brings f.ex. 3 tanks, bunch of marines and rally vultures behind it.

I'm watching and wondering why don't Z pros go 2H muta more often. On wiki it says 2H muta counters 5 Rax +1 because low marine count before 5 rax. It's too economically punishing and not versatile enough?

You never play 5 rax vs 2 hath muta. 90% of terrans would go 2rax instead of that.

Does 2h counter +1 5rax? I always feel like it's an autowin for T, I only need to cut SCV-s and rine production just when the mutas are hatching to get the turrets up, and afterwards I can resume SCV and unit production. With lots of turrets and a control group of MnM, +1 and range finishing quite soon and 5raxes producing, it's an easy win. Of course, I play on FS almost exclusively, on a c- / c level, so it could be that I'm just not facing proper muta micro :D

You can't afford 5 rax vs 2 hath muta.. You would have to cut on infrastructure or scv's, each way being in big trouble. I can play 2hath vs your 5 rax for illustration. :-)

I would love that! I do cut SCV-s, but on low levels it doesn't seem to get me in trouble. Add me as fazek[PaiN] and smash me a few times, and then teach me how to do 2rax acad vs 2h :D
