In Korea, marriage couples would often buy out a house/condo/apartment to move into as soon as they marry which cost A LOT of money (think at least 1 million dollars or more). Unlike other countries where married couples either live off rent and then buy house later stages of life or settle down on a mortgage to slowly pay off the house they purchased, Korea does not have that same system. Instead of a mortgage system, they would basically buy out the house/condo/apartment they would move into by spending it all in one-go (meaning pay all $1 million at once if that's what it cost). When they want to move to another place afterwards, they get that money they paid from the house they're moving out to use that same money for the next place. More like a loan/lease system than a mortgage system. The problem with this is that you need that sum of money to start it off to move somewhere. And one of the requirements for married couples in Korea, especially as the male/husband is to provide housing for the family. This is also why couples often don't marry until years and years (even as far as 10+ years) into relationship because the guy don't have the money to buy out/lease/loan out housing yet. I suspect NaDa falls into this common Korean couple scenario where he failed to provide housing for him and his wife which delays the wedding/marriage. | ||
