this is an article titled "why savior won't be boxer" I'm going to summarize it, I thought it was pretty interesting.

스타가 스타가 아닌 사람과의 차이는 뭘까. 팬들이 나쁜 일이든 좋은 일이든 빠지지 않고 알고 싶은 사람이 있다면 그는 스타다. 그저 연기를 잘 하거나 연주와 노래를 잘 하는 것으로 기억되는 사람은 실력이 있는 사람의 다른 의미일 뿐이다.

팬들은 오랜만에 탄생한 <스타크래프트>의 지존 마재윤에 대해 단지 ‘게임을 잘하는 프로게이머’가 아니라 임요환 같은 대스타가 되기를 기대하고 있다. 그러려면 미디어 트레이닝은 물론 저그 종족이라는 한계는 있지만 병력을 몰아쳐 ‘쌈싸먹기’를 하는 박성준(MBC게임)이나 뛰어난 운영 능력으로 팬을 사로잡는 박태민(SKT) 같은 개성적인 플레이로 자신의 트레이드 마크를 개발할 필요가 있다.
Fans are not just waiting for a player to be very skilled, they want a great star like boxer. To be a star you need a trademark like july, who controls and fights with few units, or gorush a master of management.

마재윤은 팀내 랜덤 경기에서 테란을 잡아도 결코 지지 않는다고 할 만큼 <스타크래프트>의 최고 실력자다. 그의 전성기가 활짝 열린 가운데 그가 ‘단지 플레이만 잘하는 선수’로만 기억된다면 이것은 분명 2007년 한국 e스포츠의 대재앙이 될 것이다.

Savior shows zerg what it can be when it reaches it's full potential. I was at the finals, and nada fans outnumbered us, and I can't understand how. Zerg lives on the edge vs terran. We are always 1 battle mismanaged away from losing to terran. Especially on these ridiculous maps, I hope we see a new generation of zerg users ready to murder the fast expand to marine-tank-vessel producing, no creativity terran robots.

In team random games, if Savior gets terran, his teammates say he never loses.He is the most skilled starcraft player. However in 2007 e-sports, we will see if he will be known as just a very skilled player or a very memorable star player.

Really? He can never lose if he plays terran? For the amount of money he could win, why doesn't he just use terran then?

when boxer was at his peak he said he would focus more on giving fans interesting games to watch, and he did, i wonder if savior can do the same thing... At the moment he is just a bore to watch

Thanks for the translation.. I highly disagree, he is the most interesting player I have seen. I am a terran player and always liked mostly terran players., never a z. But he is fighting so beautifully its just brilliant.
And saying he never fights against unbelivable odds... If the maps are normal than it's usually true but on this season's maps how can they say that? (ehem... 5th game vs Iris?)

I have read this post and stayed shocked with the money savior earned but I have a bad news 4 him.

1# Taxes: around 20% pure neto and 5% on other shit..
2# Managers: Like ever other football, basketball players SC players got managers and they take 50%

Now lets do some math:
200k - 25% = 50k - 50%= 25k now savior has earned 25k of pure cash! not 200k like the you saw in first post

um, even if your stupid claims are true, you did the math wrong idiot

25% tax on 200k makes it 150k, then half of that is 75k

and that's assuming your "managers take 50%!!!" and assumptions about korean taxes are all correct
