If savior wins remaining tourneys in which he is scheduled to appear for the 2006 season, he wins almost 200K in pure prize money. o_o with his current winnings, he has the record for highest earnings for a single year, and if he wins the remaining two events, would almost double the past record.

Personally, I fucking love savior. It makes me so sad to see all of the savior-haters, but for me he is so awesome ^^
uhjoo would you happen to know if there's ever been a progamer with a more successful year? I would imagine not, seeing as how Progaming's been getting bigger and bigger, which obviously means more and more money.
How about career? Though Savior hasn't been around terribly long (afaik), and certainly hasn't been this huge for very long, I'm curious how his success so far in his career stacks up to other players who have been around longer. Players like BoxeR may have (theoretically, because I don't believe it's true) won more events, but made less in prize money because Progaming wasn't quite so developed. Got any statistics off hand for the viewers?

i have no statistics offhand, but i'm 99.9% positive that savior's prize earnings are a record
however other players probably have made more in pure earnings, from salary + endorsements, etc. (although i'm not positive about that either)
i believe savior's salary is ~ 70,000 USD, with incentives from CJ for doubling that for player of the year. i haven't confirmed this, however, but if true, he is going to make ~ 340,000USD this year, which has to be up there in pure earnings.
edit: the CJ incentive for doubling may apply not to salary, but to prize earnings, which would mean that he will make upwards of 470,000 USD. Half a mil o_o
he will, i'm sure, get a spanking new contract from CJ soon which will put him at or above the highest salary earners in the league.

i'm pretty sure for one year those earnings are damn near setting a record
for overall i would really think someone that has been around longer + bigger yearly contracts would have definitely made more like boxer, nada, reach etc.
i think also there's still a few players that have placed more in tourneys (boxer, nada, yellow, oov would all be contenders for this)
if you look on the lifetime achievement ranks savior is still like 7th isn't he
well of course winning OSL+MSL would bump him up significantly... i wonder what it will look like after

T.T That's a lot of prize money lol. It didn't come easy though, he had to win quite a lot of tourneys, but thats a pretty nice amount of cash lying around aside from his own salary.

as much as that is, it still pales in comparison to prizes for many other sports/semi-sports
he definitely deserves a higher salary if its only $70k, aren't some other players getting paid nearly three times that much?
