Well you need insanely good reflexes and though high apm for very few quarter of seconds. You can fuck up real hard. Definitely more demanding than SC2, though not as BW

Different skill sets. LoL has more to learn in regards to game mechanics, different champion interactions, team based strategy and co-ordination but doesn't need the same requirements in multitasking and general APM compared to BW or Sc2. One could argue that getting to the top in LoL is harder than either game however due to the larger playerbase and competition in LoL, but I wouldn't like to say for sure.

Your argument for LoL being harder would work if the foreigners are in the level of Koreans neck to neck. Otherwise it's still Koreans competing against Koreans for Top place like in BW.

I`m not saying that self-excuse is an old Korean tradition. Rather, it`s a common courtesy regardless of the nation.

I mentioned Victorian times because it`s a byword for the age of courtesy.

Not about Blizzard, but about the new lifestyle was really my impression of the interview. Staying in bed till 12, drinking a lot. I hope that it's a short phase before he moves on to the next thing. Of course it has not been long since his retirement, so no need to go too crazy.

I rewatched the Christmas game. It's the famous 7rax that made everyone think a lot harder about making sure overlords have a safe place to run. It's fair to be proud of that one Very subtle but far reaching change.

No, against Jaedong. On Heartbreak Ridge, Flash builds a Barracks at 7 supply in order to get a Marine out early enough to snipe an Overlord, which was traveling along the same path every initial Overlord on HBR traveled up to that point. It pretty much decided the result of the game, since Jaedong couldn't stop the subsequent early Marine and Bunker rush having been unexpectedly supply blocked so early. This game also eliminated Jaedong from OSL after he'd won the previous two OSLs.

After that, Zerg players became more careful about Overlord scout paths, since a predictable scout path over open terrain could be studied and exploited in a big game. Similarly, Terran players became more aggressive about sending small groups of Marines to seek out Overlord kills during the early game.

Great interview, Flash keeps his sense of humor during all of it haha

I'm looking forward to finding out whatever his next steps are, be it playing BW, opening a restaurant or doing whatever else he wants to do.

It is known that you`ve earned quite a lot.

"No.1 in BW. I think I can afford my marriage, house and future business (he said restraurant for instance.) without my parent`s help.

It is always sad to hear that a famous Broodwar player is retiring, especially a player of FlaSh's caliber. It reminds me that life moves on, and that nothing is forever.

I would call it one of the seminal games: Games that may not be known to be exciting, but induces a change in the meta. Similar to that, the Bisu vs Savior series were seminal as well.

What Flash didn't say was that the persons vods he's watching is his own.

Why would he need to watch anyone elses? He's perfection already.

It's a game that's exciting at the time, and people watching it will feel it's going to change things, but that watching in retrospect needs context to understand why it's so cool.

Brood War is lucky to have had many seminal moments pretty much every year of its professional play, and several more close to seminal moments (like upMagic's m&m vs Protoss, which only ever worked for him, or Hive tech ZvZ which was only understood by a very small number of top zergs). Mech vs Zerg, and then Zerg's broodling response months later. Those kinds of things made SC so fun to follow.
