It has been several months since the first TLC was run back in July. Despite facing many unforeseen difficulties including but not limited to stream delays, caster disappearances and strong community backlash over various organizational decisions, the TLC was run with the utmost care to details. Through 20 iterations which involved many map changes, including a unique iteration due to sponsor preferences, the TLC managed to provide a battleground for the foreign community as well as entertainment for the hundreds of viewers that tuned in weekly. Though this is the end for TeamLiquid's latest BW tournament, lots of memories were made in the process of trying to show the world our love and passion for the greatest RTS game of all time. Several weeks have passed since the last TLC was casted so now is the best time to look at the overall numbers. The infograph presented below provides details about TLC as a whole from race distributions to viewer count and maps casted among other things. As a special treat, we have also managed to find a caster for TLC15. Cats_paw will be casting TLC15 on Sunday at 19:00 GMT (+00:00) so make sure not to miss it! In closing, we would like to thank the players, the viewers and everyone who made TLC successful and part of their daily Saturday routine. Stay tuned for news about the upcoming TLS which will be posted soon!

And I saw all of them! (Well, except TLC15)
By the way, did anyone find out yet what happened to Sayle? I hope he is just vacationing or needed a break or something. It would be a shame if something bad happened to him.

In terms of viewers, I think the initial excitement over TLC waned after the first couple were done and coupled with Scan's departure from TLC, there was a rather large hit in viewer count. Still, about 200 weekly viewers is great for how long TLC ran for.

ah thanks. There was huge lag. Hence the high apm

some good games but after scan leave no more terran win and trutacz won almost everything left so become boring again IMO ^ ^

These statistics prove what I have been claiming for a long time: That foreign Terrans need to step it up.

Hence the high apm Quite likely that was the reason but with so many games played and that were potential candidates for high APM, it would've been really time consuming to manually go through each one to determine just how much of the APM was due to lag (quite subjective as well). Overall, there were a ton of games played (easily 800+) over the course of 20 TLCs.

It was fun to watch and to play. Great tournaments! Thanks!

Thanks, team.
Really fun compilation of stats, awesome work with the infographic Comprehensive and concise presentation of 5 months of TLC action!
|
trutacz switched to sc2 :D

I watched quite a few of them and really enjoyed the ones i saw. As mentioned above i think the lack of Scan and a consistent caster such as Sayle hurt the viewership.
Overall a great set of tournements

TLC #15 still remains to be casted. The crowd demands it!

Nice job at the graphic, but... really. This year was so busy and shitty, I had a hard time following more than one or two occasional cups at best. I was really hopeing to get some more than what's already on Liquipedia. Where are the story arcs? Seems tacz is dominating, but was that all? Are there recommended games? Disappointing guys. Especially you, Amazingxkcd. Et tu, batbatbat

I would differ on the views. I stopped watching at around number 11, cause i would organize for Saturday to be home and watch, and then they would be no stream or 12 hours delay. So then after about #7 to #12 i really stopped bothering, since there was no continuos garantee.
Thanks to all the people involved and really cool Graphics. Hope the Casting WILL be steady for the championship

Thanks to all the people involved and really cool Graphics. Hope the Casting WILL be steady for the championship With the limited number of people active within the scene itself and the fact that everyone's a volunteer to begin with, it's hard to guarantee any kind of stability like that. I'm sure any hand you could help with either casting or organizing would be most welcome, however.

I don't want to see how many units of what composition each player has. Honestly, half the fun is discovering that a player has suddenly built two reavers (or something like that) which may or may not change the game. Or maybe you think player A is finished when suddenly siege tanks are coming from a flank which you had previously missed.

Thanks to all the people involved and really cool Graphics. Hope the Casting WILL be steady for the championship As artanis mentioned, the TLC was run by a group of volunteers and seeing as its volunteer work, it's hard to have a 100% guarantee that each TLC will have a cast every single week. We tried our best to make sure that there was a cast that started right on time but life is unpredictable.

This is cool. I thought my game vs Bakuryu was longer than that (on Jade) but I guess not. It sure felt like forever because my strategy was to just camp the map until he left. TT made a lot of money :omg:

Isn't your game plan in PvZ is to always camp the map and wait for your opponent to leave?:D
