This is Sonic's previously announced and currently ongoing project. It's a re-installment of older Sonic's show where he takes on a couple of amateurs to coach them on their way to epicness, except this time it's treated more seriously (don't get fooled by the first episode). It's a real effort of bringing up new talents and making them popular with the fans.
In the show, Sonic, Soulkey's personal coach Child and a couple of invited ex-progamers help coach the SBENU BBARAS Team featuring KHAN ex-progamer Sharp and amateurs/semi-pros Olympus, Bale, Luna and BishOp for 100 days. We get to follow the behind-the-scenes of Olympus and Sharp participating in the SBENU Starleague and see the team compete against ex-progamers in Sonic Super Fights. The team will also play in the upcoming Sonic Proleague.
This thread (and thread title) will be updated with newly subbed episodes. Currently 4 episodes have been released. Enjoy and get hyped for Proleague comeback!
The first episode also featured short player introductory videos that will be (hopefully) subbed later on and released on their own. (There weren't Korean subtitles to the iviews and I'm not comfortable doing them by ear.) If anyone's interested in helping with that pm me plz, otherwise I may bother you sooner or later anyway.

No idea, can't even find that show anymore except for pandora where I can't watch it. Googling that term didn't help at all and it seemed like noone else knew what was that reference or w/e it was either. Maybe someone will know.
Btw. if anyone sees any blatant mistakes in the subs let me know and I'll fix it.

Sonic often engages in Michael-Scott-like behavior for laughs. When he makes fun of how the players look, he is very aware that the Afreeca viewers believe that he is not a good-looking man. So he's actually making fun of himself for making fun of the players. A bit of meta-humor is going on there.

I keep confusing Bishop with Bale, him with Luna. There are 3 unknown for us and same looking players in this rooster. Olympus seems so shy and dumb stare, while Sharp seems to be MVP of this team.
When we gonna see Sonic inviting an "S class, foreign hated edge-case korean" player there?

Korean subs are missing in the last ~10 minutes. I wanted to try and sub everything the casters and Sonic said during games but after getting stuck a couple of times and wasting hours for nothing I just picked a few phrases here and there that I could make out and that seemed key to tell the story.
Didn't see the final render yet.. If you spot any errors or if you think I left out anything important/fun please let me know and I'll add it via notes.

The amount of times Sonic comments on how his team looks ugly... That would be considered super rude here. Especially since he has all tools to basically dress them however he pleases and thus make them better looking.
Also is it just the show? Koreans seem to generally view something as either bad or good. They also rarely seem to add arguments as to why something is bad or good. I'm digging the show though; it's all just funny to me, but sometimes I can't help but worry that the critique the amateurs receive will affect them in a bad way. As a teacher I always like to make sure my critique does not end up demotivating my student.
Sonic is only doing that because he's considered very ugly himself and he knows and accepts it. There's a lot of jokes around that, like 'Overlord at 5 o'clock!' (referring to sonic's cam in the bottom corner of the stream) or Sonic threatening to turn his cam on. Hence Sonic calling out other people for their looks is perceived as funny by viewers - he's effectively mocking himself!
Btw. it's true Koreans are pretty blunt about this (they'll comment on your looks/physique etc. and they'll tell you their observations directly) but this also means you're used to it if you're a part of the culture. I don't expect anyone here to remind me I'm ugly so it would probably have some emotional effect on me whereas if I saw it coming I'd just learn to ignore it much like I'm ignoring people telling me I need a girlfriend/life/car. Or, of course, you can go the other way and try to fit in. No shame going for plastic surgery in Korea so I don't think ugly people there have it significantly more difficult than in the west where most people discriminate based on looks anyway, they just won't generally admit it.

well, it's probably true, the difference between the high level pro's and even the best amateurs is so big. But i love the show and im pretty excited for the next episode given Olympus' Run in SSL 11
Episode 2 was fantastic! It was so great to see the hype around Olympus from his team, but especially from Sonic. That was really infectious- I was cheering for him all over again even though I've seen the games ages ago.
Great episode. I'm glad I didn't remember the results and were pleasantly surprised. I liked how they stuck with the Old-Boy style of filming (which is great, and nostalgic) while building up these players who we know little about. Thanks for subbing and looking forward to the next eps.

he said he might do that. To my knowledge he is still not sure if he will. But im not sure if you understand this correctly. Sonic (or Sbenu) is trying to revive the proleague of old. But Sbenu will most likely only field one team, other teams will most likely by send out be other known sponsors, that decide to field a team. But "Sonic becomes a coach" focuses on his team only, so we will most likely not see Scan, as he's not in it.
These videos are great! It was nice to see team support and Olympus pulling through despite knowing he'll get eliminated later on. Question is, did they end up having 10 chickens that night and did Olympus get 3 for himself? haha. Thanks Stratos! Keep them coming! :D

Most graphic cards give you the option to 'keep aspect ratio' for programs and games. That's what you need to set for BW. I'm pretty sure there are monitors where you can manually set it as well.

I got the first few minutes done and then the video stopped playing sound in Vegas for whatever reason. All other videos would play sound in the project except for that one, even if I dld it all over again and used a new audio track. The multiple media events for each subtitle have been causing great lags as well so I had to write everything in a txt editor and copy paste it to avoid that. Apparently Vegas isn't such a good choice for this or I'm doing something horribly wrong. I'll look into some other programs or maybe even try to sub it in YouTube if their tools are anywhere near usable. I'll try to get this done by Sunday but it's always difficult to make an estimate if I can get randomly stuck on something for a few hrs...and that's basically the main reason I'm subbing those so I'm not just going to skip over those parts.
