On the 2nd of February at 4pm KST, tickets can be acquired from the Korean ticketing website 'OKTicket' (www.okticket.com). This is the same website Korean's use to get the LoL Champions tickets, as well as professional basketball and baseball matches.

The finals will be held at the Jamsil Student's Gymnasium on the 15th of February starting at 2pm KST. The venue was used for the Tving OSL and SK Planet Proleague 11-12 finals. SBENU model Lee 'IU' Ji-eun will be performing as part of the festivities.

Tickets for the 'R' section of seats will be 10,000 KRW, while the 'S' section of seating will be 5,000 KRW. Proceeds from the sale of these tickets will go towards the CJ Donors Camp.

Foreigners who are travelling in Korea
If foreigners can't register for OKTicket because of iPIN issues, try contacting OGN Global on Twitter or Facebook since they seem to handle the foreigner distribution of Champions tickets. They might be able to come up with a solution for foreigners without a Alien ID.

Thanks for the info GTR!

So what are the chances these tickets will be instantly sold out in mere minutes?

Not to mention the possibility that there will be people coming only to see IU performance (aka rabid fans with professional camera equipment to take pictures/videos for their fan clubs)....

Hopefully she performs at the end rather than at the start. Make all the people that bought tickets just to see her wait through all the awesome Brood War that is going to be played.

Ah come on. We all know that IU is first so that all the people that bought tickets just to see BW will have to wait through all IU

Does anyone by any chance know about how many days before the event the tickets will go up?

I'm not sure if IU performing is actually a good idea. How much people show up at her concert normally?

It would suck if her fans buy all the tickets just to come see her perform, while caring very little about BW itself, and in process deny the tickets for actual BW fans.

Very much this haha ><

Brood War!!!

Is this only the grand finals, or is the Ro4 being played there, as well? Maybe they can stick IU right after the Ro4.

I think a sold out stadium and tv viewership numbers matter most. IU will definitely help with that.

Yes, but those numbers are inflated. What happens next time when they organize it in a stadium and there's no IU?

is there any way for us foreigners to get tickets? Just seems like I can't even sign up or anything, even just to have everything ready for when tickets go on sale. looks like my dreams of going are dashed ugh...

but seriously a TL meetup for the event is in order, whether meeting up before the matches for lunch then those to have tickets can head over, or after for a dinner type thing.

EDIT: Someone who speaks Korean better than I should contact sonic, and try to see if he can't reserve some seats for us foreigners, so that those of us who can't access the site, or who are not in Korea currently are able to attend the event.

Yeah it seems like getting an ipin is the only way and even then there's no guarantee it'll work for foreigners. Trying to get an ipin I was asked for a "foreigner no." which I'm not sure what it is and if I can get it. Either way figuring it out in two days seems quite unlikely from my experience with this stuff. Looks like we'll have to rely on someone who can shop online in Korea or be very sad.

iPIN is the epitome of evil. The South (!!) Korean government required that each web site track the national identification number of each registered user in order to control and suppress dissidents. Koreans used to accept this injustice in silence until identity theft using stolen national identification numbers became a huge problem due to the terrible ActiveX/Windows-based security used by Korean web sites. The Korean government addressed this by requiring people to use an iPIN, which is not as useful to identity thieves because it can be changed once it is leaked, but still allows the government to track Internet users.

Foreigners who have an alien registration card and reside in Korea can get an iPIN, but not the rest of us. I suppose you could try contacting the Sonic TV PD, but what would be the best way to reach him? Afreeca? Facebook?

I tried messaging ogn global and Sonic on his page. Dunno how much successful that'll be though. Is there no way someone in Korea can buy the tickets beforehand? I'd be happy to send the money in advance. Idk if the tickets are tied to an ID or sth though.

If you are lucky enough to get yourself a ticket, could you possibly see about a few tickets for those of us who can't get them either. Im in the same boat at you, im willing to pay just no way to do so.

Im going to message him tonight and see if he can't reserve about 5 or 10 seats for us foreigners, so we can pay when we grt yo the event.

OMG Why they didnt made it in a bigger hall when the interest is so high? Thats bad for both organisers and fans, many people who want to be there will be pissed off. Not to mention real fans of broodwar will not be able to watch the finals because of the kpop fans.

Or charge more? I don't know much about Seoul's sports/entertainment economy but 10,000/5,000 KRW seems low. The cheapest tickets for the LoL world finals started at 25,000 KRW and went up from there. Obviously that's a much higher profile event but also a much bigger venue. What would the tickets cost for a SC2 final or regular season LoL match?

But what about fans like these who couldn't get the ticket because of the kpop fans? Should they feel betrayed? I also don't know which opportunities it could open up based on the inflated numbers. Even if it does, next time when they don't have the IU and only scorned fans who couldn't get in last time, their whole event could be a bust.

However, I really do hope I'm overreacting and that the tickets sold out because of the BW back on OGN, not IU .
