What is this YSL that you speak of
The YSL is a 32-human tournament featuring some of the best of the best intermediate StarCraft players in the English-speaking world. Hell, some of the players barely spoke English. The measure of skill is the often arbitrary and paradoxical test of the iCCup server, where players are ranked on a ladder that rewards the strong of heart and of cheese, assigning colors to the various divides in rankings. Yellow is the color of those who have tested the waters of BroodWar, and have been deemed worthy to advance and such.
The tournament was played over the course of 270 weeks, and finally two finalists emerged from the piles of ashes of the burnt-up corpses of their fallen (and torched) opponents. Unfortunately, most of this fly silently under the radar,

Of course, this doesn't mean the tournament was a failure, because at it's very heart and soul, StarCraft is for fun and boy, did we have fun. So, what we're going to do here is a bit different than your conventional orthodox cookie-cutter run-of-the-mill ordinary tournament broadcast: cast the finals. But before you burn me for being a witch (cuz I'm not, my cat ain't even black), let's all just calm down and take a deep breath and then drink a lot of caffeine and get really excited to watch some StarCraft.

Do you even know how hard it is to talk that much? I never talk that much in my normal life. That's ridiculous. Are you kidding me right now?
So I asked some friends of mine if they wanted to cast some of the tournament. They said they wanted to do it. However, it is written: "The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak." (Matthew 26:41) and my friends were unable to cast, because they got banned from twitch for streaming M. Night Shyalmalan's 2000 classic movie, Unbreakable (Thereby violating the Terms Of Service, Telecommunications acts, and the Treaty of Zurich), and another was ill-equipped to handle casting, as his government-issued laptop interpreted StarCraft replays as terrorist attacks, which would only be true if he were streaming replays of
Fantasy.The semi-finals can also be casted, unless the games are ridiculously long for no reason, then I'm gonna x16 it.

The showdown: Munkie vs Sero
Could you ask for a better final? In theory, yes. But considering that both of these players practiced harder than the other competitors sheds light on the truth that you must practice to get results. Not to take anything away from their competition - Sero had to pass through the Polish player Radley, who scored a ridiculous 11 kills during CRGOT, to reach the finals, while Munkie had to face the notoriously tactless MVP (aka PassiOn) who got "kind of" good.
To his credit, Radley was able to overcome his fear of tournament-winning favorite ihufa and knock Denmark's finest (and possibly only) player, but Sero came fresh out of a win over the very-polished sas.Minus, and was ready to spill some Polish blood all over the untouched snow. Not that Munkie got an "easy" path through the tournament - I felt as though Oxysc was severely underrated, but still a contender for a finalist in this tour, and was MVP.

S: i'm a 21 year old college student from southern california

S: UUM... GOOD
NZ: What can we expect to see in these finals?
S: we'll probably both play standard every game. the first map is fs so if i lose that i'm fucked, but i think i should win =) maybe 3-2 but we've never played each other so i don't really have any idea
NZ: What would you say your strengths are going into this match?
S: is she going to read this before we play? lol
NZ: naw. The people will see it before the games are broadcasted though.
S: alright. probably timing pushes and good macro early game... also spider mines
NZ: Do you see any situation where you might go battlecruisers?
S: only if i'm up 2-0
NZ: What would it mean to win this world C-ranks championship?
S: well it'd be the first tournament i've ever won and hopefully afterward i'll move up to B ranks
NZ: I heard you bought your parents front-row seats to the event. Have they been supportive through this whole tournament?
S: no, i didn't buy them tickets. they just talk shit and bm me every game
NZ: Do you think that securing a win this coming week will earn their love and support?
S: hopefully they'll acknowledge that my decision to become a progamer was worth it but i don't think they'll watch any of the games
