Jangbi is going to bring with him a tone of fans (girls particularly) and will probably give courage to more players to do the same. Im hoping this is the start of something real big. Jangbi Hwaiting!
A lot of you seem to be forgetting that although guys like BeSt and co. are making brief returns to BW they still have military service come this September.

That's 2 years out. Who knows if he'll even play either game when he's out.

When i saw this thread in the sidebar i was like slaped right in the face. Jangbi who become my very first favorite player in the Jin Air OSL, the man who made the best OSL final ive ever seen. There is no such feeling delivered by any BW player or game to me before the rise of his legend.
Sadly this was only for a short time, cuz sc2 ruined it, now its even more sad cuz he is retiring. What a career he couldve had if this shitty sc2 wasnt killed BW.
Bows to you almighty hero, the greatest of them all!
I have hope that he will join Sospa scene, cuz in an interview after the last BW OSL he said that BW is sacred thing for him. A game that has inspired him to achieve what he is known for, to be the champion. He said also that he will play BW even if there is no one still playing it. Much love for you JangBang, hope to see you soon in BW!

Oh god it is not SC2 what ruined it is the shift of popularity to LoL and even WoT and lack of SC2 leagues in korea stop being stupid BW fans I like BW and SC2 and I will never say bad things about these games.

I thought it said he would take a year off? A lot can change in that time, by then the scene might be strong enough for him to stay. Also you are right he wont be playing SCII but he will be playing BW. As a BW fan I would rather see him stream on snipelot and play in SOSPA then in Code S.

Sigh another one of the greats falls due to this horrible game (thanks blizz), I so want BW proleague back, that stuff was magical and so much fun to watch.

If Protoss has such a stupid design then how do great elephants like Rain perform so well? Janbi just doesn't have the drive that JD or Flash or Innovation have. He's not motivated so he just chose to give up.

I can see why you're happy to (probably) see him play some more bw though.

Sick another new bw streamer. I can't wait until one of TLBS retires to stream some bw before going into the military.

I'd like to point out that even FlaSh himself (among other pros) pointed out there's a discrepancy between how the races play out in Brood War and how they play out in SC2, and that SC2 Protoss plays very much like BW Terran.
Maybe Sun is better at adapting to this different style than JangBi is.

Kespa in general seems to be losing steam in SC2 with players retiring/teams disbanding. We'll see where this goes, but I don't like the look of someone as successful as Jangbi retiring.

I'd love to see him play a couple of Sonic events, but this makes me sad. He seemed to start to dominate after a long average career at the end of BW and then *puff* Blizzard steps in and ruins his potential career.

Wooo! Hopefully if when enough high profile players express their disinterest in the game they will focus more on brood war. I look forward to seeing him play on sonic

Oh god it is not SC2 what ruined it is the shift of popularity to LoL and even WoT and lack of SC2 leagues in korea stop being stupid BW fans I like BW and SC2 and I will never say bad things about these games. LOL SC2 is so fucked up that a child can see it, thats a big baloon in which companies throw big money to keep it flying, its just that in Korea the baloon has been popped, because Koreans have better understanding of the two games than most of the global sc2 spectators and players. Also hearing from SC2 players and reading posts here, it seems like many of them lose interest in the game. Blizzard messed up all of the race characteristics which is hell for the switching players, making nothing like sequel of the first game, not to mention how unentertaining and shallow is compared to the its predecessor. Its shame how far SC2 is from the Starcraft form and spirit. How about the visual design? Older rts games like CnC 3 and Universe At War, did much greater job at looking realistic, epic and inspiring. SC2 has so many animations that makes no sense and its all dark and monotonous. It would have been a good game if it was not pretending to be a superrior sequel.

That's sad. Guess I can change my khan insignia though.
Wonder if we'll see an inteview with his honest opinion about SC2. Hopefully blizz will read it and make the changes the game desperately needs to be somewhat as interesting as BW.

Whether or not we'll see an interview like that with JangBi, I have no clue. But I do know that if he speaks his real mind on the topic, Blizzard's public response (if any) will be "we appreciate your feedback and will look into these issues very closely" while in reality doing nothing more than writing him off as a nostalgic / someone who couldn't adapt etc etc.
Just like they did with the chunk of the community that has spoken out so many times on SC2's game design.

With the renovation of kespa may be it will be possible to gather a solid amateur scene, find a sponsor and run the shit as the official kespa event? Gaining more attention, probably gathering more ex-pros. One can dream.

Well shit...
If he feels that way, I'm sure its the best decision for him, I'm just sad we can't see anymore JangBang's in PL.

It's not like he was forced or made to quit SC2, he made the decision for himself. So as a JangBi fan I want him to do what makes him happy; and as a BW fan, I would be really happy about seeing him play BW for a year.
