It's the same format he used for SRT 14. I don't know why he chose it though.

compared to all games bo3, having 2 bo3 games as bo1 games saves broadcast time from 15 possible matches to 11 possible matches.
as for the change of the location of the bo1 games, i guess that having bo1 games in set 1 and 2 makes people skip those games.

I think it makes much more sense to have Bo3 in Winners/Losers matches because one player is getting eliminated there. Bo1 in Set 1 & 2 is not that bad, because even if you lose, you still have a Bo3 Losers match where you can show your skill to win. Getting eliminated in a Bo1 sucks imo.
I'm really curious why Sonic changed it though; just trying to mix things up?

I like the maps set up for this quite a bit. I enjoy seeing great maps like 815 getting thrown in from time to time, and of course I miss playing neat games on the style-changing maps like that, Neo Forte, Peaks of Baekdu, etc.

I quite like the unusual maps been thrown in. It should give us some interesting games. 815 goes back to before I even began watching Broodwar so I'm pretty excited to see how it plays and might track down some old vods of games on it latter. Looks like drops and air to me.
