Samsung KHAN Winners: "Bring it on, KT!"

Samsung Khan's mighty Protoss trio defeated Woongjin Stars to claim the 2nd place in this Proleague season. Khan's Protoss line made up an incredible 60%+ of the season's lineups and contributed greatly to their 2nd place position. Samsung Khan's (P)Stork, (P)Brave, and (P)JangBi played a part in their joyous victory.

Stork promised, "We're definitely going to make the finals and show some fun games," while Jangbi said, "Up until now, every time I lost, our team lost, so from now on, I'm going to focus, and we'll win for sure," psyching himself up. "Every time I tell my mom I'm getting sent out, I lose, so today I didn't say anything to her, and I won," said Brave. "I guess from now on I'll have to keep my matches a secret from her," he said, causing everyone to burst out in laughter.

Q: Your team has secured 2nd place.

Stork = Trying to calculate the playoffs conditions hurt my head, so I just thought that we should win, no matter what. I was worried because I often show weak form against the Woongjin Zergs, but I won so I'm really happy. We've prepared so well for all our games leading up to the finals, so I really want to make it to the finals this time.

Brave = At the very least, it's nice that we finally have a little break time now (laugh). If only we had concentrated a little more during the season, we could have made it straight to the finals, so we're still pretty frustrated about that.

Jangbi = We couldn't get 1st place, but by winning today, we got 2nd. It's a little disappointing, but this is still good too. I want the playoff games to start soon!

Q: Your team is on an upwards trend (good momentum).

Stork = The best part of getting 2nd is that we get a decent amount of time to rest, which I think is fortunate. At the start of the 3rd round, there were a lot of matches that were only 3 days apart, so it was hard to get any rest and we were rushed.

Brave = Our team spirit is important. If we can never go on a winning streak, we fall into a losing one (laugh). If we win, or there's a lot of rest time between matches, then we'll do well in the next match. We won today and now we're getting a break, so we'll make it to the finals for sure.

Jangbi = I couldn't lose today. There's been so many times where I lost and so the team lost, and I'm very sorry for that. We were in good shape to get 1st place, but because of me, we got 2nd, and I feel bad. We'll get to the finals and win step by step. From now on, I'll focus hard on all my matches.

Q: Give us an assessment of your games today.

Stork = The strategy I used today could be blocked if the zerg dealt with it well, but I didn't actually expect it to be blocked so easily, so I got a bit flustered. But then after my opponent produced mutas and scourge, I knew what to expect. So I switched into a two stargate build and it worked out nicely. Lately it seems that if a good strategy comes up, (Z)ZerO has a hard time dealing with it.

Brave = Grape was the one who originally came up with my build. Since I come out on Chain Reaction so often, I needed to stay unpredictable with a new and different strategy.

Jangbi= I guess I just won with skill (laugh). [lol wtf jangbi]

Q: Which team would you like to make it to the semis?

Stork = We get to choose the 1st and 7th set map, so that's good. What's more important than which team we meet is which players we face, but... Woongjin is always quite strong against us, so it would be nice if KT could make it.

Brave = I really hate facing the Zerg-strong Woongjin. I want to play KT (laugh).

Jangbi = Since we get to pick the 7th set map, we can shut out (T)Flash, so I'd like to meet KT too.

Q: For the playoffs, the Bo7 Ace Match format was reinstated.

Stork = We always lost in the ace match. I'd like to end the match before it gets to that point.

Brave = I don't really care that much that there's ace matches now, but it's good for us because we have many cards that we can play.

Jangbi = Our team has an unusual passion when it comes to the playoffs. We get totally fired up compared to the regular season (laugh).

Q: What do you think of your chances of winning PL?

Stork = We managed to get 2nd place in the regular season, so I think our chances of winning it all is positive. I think SKT is the best opponent for the finals. Lately the finals have just been battles between KT and SKT, but isn't that a little boring by now? (laugh) We want to end that pattern. If we make it to the finals, I really want to play a great game against (P)Bisu.

Brave = If we make it to the finals, our opponent will be SKT, so we'll practice even harder for it.

Jangbi = We're really strong at the 2-part season league format, and since they split up the season this time, I'm confident we can win. I'm hoping to have a Kong-line showdown with (T)Fantasy in the finals.

Q: Anything else you'd like to say?

Stork = Our match today was really important, so I'd like to thank everyone that helped us prepare. And to our fans, we'll meet again in 2 weeks (laugh).

Brave = Every I tell my mom that I'm going to play, I lose, so I told her I wasn't getting sent out today. From now on, I'll have to keep my matches a secret from her (laugh). I'll practice hard for the playoffs, so we'll make the finals for sure.

Jangbi = We secured 2nd place, so now we'll probably get to take a short break, rest up well so we can head down to Busan.

Ohhhh actually I don't MIND KT not making to the play off so woongjin can tear samsung khan a new one .No seriously, KT is really under performing compared to last year pl final form we had and if it takes others to bring khan back to earth than so be it .

CJ is a talented team and they will of course be able to bring these guy's down and it doesn't really matter . I hate the idea that just because our zerg line isn't doing really well this year proleague that warrant's them to call us out and make fun of us . Khan is going down this year and if I need to support other teams to bring them down than I will do that.

3-pronged interview! This is unheard of since .... last season? lol

I wish, from now on, they'll interview all the winners of the winning team.

lol? Saying your zergs aren't at Soulkey's level is making fun of them? Maybe you need to calm down and stop being so sensitive. I don't see any insults anywhere. Woongjin has always been tough for Khan to beat; they were the ones who knocked Khan out of the playoffs last year. It's not unreasonable that they would want to avoid Stars. That's all there is to it.

T1, CJ and KT is going down.

I'm all for Khan and Stars but I think it's impossible so

Khan vs T1 or Stars vs T1.

If I recall previously in another Khan interview . Samsung khan and friends mention " We want to play KT ZERGS " because you know why ? They are really bad and easy to win hence easy win for the team . You don't see khan saying I want to play more with WJ Zergs because it's not easy for them .

Also it's fine picking up on a team that isn't doing well after all, I also if I was in their shoe would want to meet more easier opponents to boost my morale so I get more confident in my game play which in the long run helps my team . Which is exactly fine of course and sorry if I was "Sensitive in any way " but what is happening here is blatantly a manifestation of if there is a choice between a hard one and a easy one than definitely the easy one is the best choice and of course kt is the post mention option.

I think you are overreacting.

Woongjin has always been a traditionally Zerg power-house. Zero has been a top Zerg for a long long time despite his current shaky form, and SK is contesting for the current best Zerg position. Calling Woongjin "Zerg-strong" is totally warranted. KHAN has much more trouble vs Zerg than the other Protoss powerhouse (SKT).

And while there are no maps that are terrible ZvP (has there ever been any? o.O) some maps are almost downright impossible to TvP this season (Outlier, lesser extent: Chain Reaction), esp when the Ps are Stork n Jangbi. Wanting to meet KT is the perfectly reasonable choice imho.

Jangbi = Since we get to pick the 7th set map, we can shut out Flash, so I'd like to meet KT too.

Ohhhh actually I don't MIND KT not making to the play off so woongjin can tear samsung khan a new one .No seriously, KT is really under performing compared to last year pl final form we had and if it takes others to bring khan back to earth than so be it .

So what do you think of CJ instead of Woongjin doing that?

if CJ can beat us, sure.

I'd like to see CJ take it all the way, I honestly do.

Wow, didn't know that 2nd place finisher gets to pick the the ace map. That to me is kind of huge against a team like KT, since it makes Flash a little more mortal than usual.

And honestly, I think the one team Khan wants to avoid is CJ. It seems that as far as I can remember CJ always beats Khan in the PL. They just match up really well with Hydra/Effort as A-class zergs, Horang2 as PvP sniper, plus Leta who's strong. To me Khan against KT or Woongjin is about even in terms of strength.

It's whoever is higher in the ranking who gets to pick Day 1 and 3 maps for Ace, lower ranking gets Day 2 Ace choice. So SKT gets to pick for their sole Bo7 the Ace map (which is also Map 1 as well) while Khan gets to pick the Ace map for Day 1 and 3 for the team that will win the KT vs CJ/Stars quarterfinals, who will have KT choosing their Day 1/3 maps as well.

The map picking thing is actually not so bad for KT. Of course every team, which has to play KT, will pick a map that disadvantages T's on set 1 and set 7. But this also means, it is easier for KT to predict the oppenent and Flash can prepare more intensive.

Thanks for the explanation. It's still an advantage nonetheless.

last season playoff KT only played to set 7 twice, once against woongjin and the finals.

KT can do it again(provided Mind does not get TvTs and barracks gets nothing but TvT)

I wish I could agree, but in their current form, Stars are huge underdogs against Khan because of Light's non-existent TvP, Free falling off the face of the earth, and Zero's slump. The match-ups have to be perfect for Stars to have a decent chance against Khan. That means the Twin Sunkens vs the Twin Canons and Light gets a TvZ.

I think the team Khan is actually strongest against is SKT because they don't have anyone who is a favorite over Stork and Jangbi. And if Stork gets matched-up against Bisu, then Khan is in a great position.

I wouldn't be so harsh w Free, not with today's game at least.

I mean that cheese was... As most other cheeses, deadly if not scouted. And clearly Free wasn't even aware of such a possibility seeing as he didn't scout that area at all, despite knowing (?) that his opponent is 1 Pylon short (don't quote me on it).

Getting cheesed out is nothing too big, and Fast Expand vs beside-your-base 4-Gates is a straight up loss. 3 Goons vs 7 Goons + superior instant reinforcement.

Thanks for the translation! So sad by these results, but all will be well if CJ can find a way to lose to ACE.

Given ACE's play against KT, CJ could lose to ACE. The question is whether ACE wants to win or not.

It's also an advantage for set 1 though, so it doesn't have to get to set 7 to make a difference.

Us fans have basically no frame of reference for how bad Outlier is TvP (unless we're good players ourselves...I'm sure not), sample size is way too small. I wonder if even Flash could deal with Outlier TvP with an opponent using a sniper build. We might have to rely on Stats.

KT always underperforms near the end of a season making them work their asses off to climb the post-season. Keep in mind that all their players are very very clutch (meaning Action, Hoejja or Mind might actually win a game)

But Khan has been looking very dangerous lately, I do believe (and will argue for) that they have the most cards to play based on the number of players with good momentum. TBH, I really wanted a Khan vs KT finals

Well, the absolute lack of TvP on Outlier is pretty indicative, if you ask me. I ll venture to say that it's absolutely horrible for T on that map, esp vs a powerful Toss with a prepared Build. And you can be damn sure that KHAN has good Toss, and that they will prepare extensively against Flash, should they be playing KT.

lol @ Sawa, you are that upset about people calling KT zergs weaker than other zerg lineups?

Try being a fan of STX and having everyone call your team "awful" or "free win" or w/e before the season was two weeks in. Toughen up bro.

I would love to see Khan and/or CJ/Stars in the finals - I agree with Stork, KT vs SKT is so boring to watch now TT, similar to how I grew tired of watching Jaedong vs Flash finals. Should be an interesting playoffs either way, we'll see! KT always seems to pull it together in playoff season.

Thanks for translating. :3
