Dream.t)check has joined Team 8 from STX Soul. Check was a former MBCGame HERO player, having been scouted online in 2010 and then drafted in April 2011 after topping the Kespa rookie evaluation competition.
When MBCGame disbanded their team at the end of the 2010-2011 season, Check joined STX Soul in November 2011. However, on 27th January, STX put several of their rookies on a waiver, including Check. But under the strong recommendation of his former MBC teammates now in Team 8, Coach Ju has recruited Check. He has already been training with the team and has been placed on February's Proleague roster.
This news is from Fomos so I can't translate the article. If DES reports on this later, I will add more details in.
Great news, I hope he will be replacing Killer soon. It's just too bad that the coach always fields the same 5 players and doesn't give the rookies a chance At least he will make a decent practice partner.
Yay, great news! Always good to see players getting picked up. I was hoping he'd do well at STX, but they've started playing so many new rookies, I guess there would have been a lot of competition anyway. Good luck to him now, and hope we see him in the lineup soon

I'm not quite sure what is going on at STX. They basically got rid of everyone they recruited in 2011. Maybe that was part of their strategy, to overhaul the B-team.
I was wondering the other day what happened to this guy.
He's probably the most overhyped rookie around imo. Can't believe the MBC coach said that he would make up for Light's departure back when Woongjin acquired him.

For the one millionth time, the MBC coach did NOT say he would make up for Light's departure. Mumyung never even mentioned Check's name when Light departed. The press release by the MBC management (not Mumyung) was just something along the lines of giving rookies the chance to develop. That's all.
Good to hear. A team is nothing without good practice partners. I don't think we'll see him in any games but a little pressure on killer can only be a good thing.

Btw, Perfectman has been added to KT's Feb roster. So he's now able to play televised matches.

I'm always glad when BW guys get jobs, but to be honest I've never thought to myself "boy I sure wish KT had someone like perfectman." It would be nice if KT at some point played him at the end of R3 because they secured the top playoff spot, but unless Pman stole some of Bisu's skills I hope KT is never in a situation where they need him.

Perfectman must have been posting up some good results at the practice room or not why would kt field in a not competent player ? . Time to dt rush Turn this time .. do it for stats perfect man !.
i dont think team8 biggest problem is zerg's practice mode. they should really aim for better terran backup or else i can't see them doin anything. and btw. aren't there enough ex estro/mbc/hwaseung pros just waiting to get invited for play?

Well adding him to the roster just makes him one more option - either if he has particular strengths, or they want to throw a game without having to waste a really good player.
Good news! I remember Check from somewhere, but I don't know why... maybe dreamleague? More players on T8 is always good, if nothing else, atleast for practice.
On February 16 2012 18:05 Hyde wrote: All right! Some good news. He's not getting paid for this though is he?
Dunno, probably not. But I don't think he was paid at STX either.
didn't a Neo.G protoss also join T8 recently?
Yes, Pigbaby. But he's still a semi-pro so he can't play any televised games. Very likely, he's an online practice partner.
No, this is not true. His nick is not "Pigbaby". Thats just awful (Even though i suspect its considered "cute" in korean just wow...).
On topic: Glad to see that team 8 is recruiting, its somewhat telling that they are not shutting down within the next 2 weeks at least
neo.g_pigbaby is the latest nick he (양희수) used in Jan when he played in the Rookie League. Maybe he'll change it later on.

Fox, not estro. In any case, Team 8 has no money so they can only afford to recruit rookies. They might recruit a Terran rookie some time later who knows.

He never gives up, Check. Actually Check almost didn't become a progamer at all. He tried several times to win Courage but couldn't. His very last chance to win Courage was in Feb 2011 and he finally did it. Had he not won in Feb, MBC would not have been able to draft him in April and he would never have become a progamer because the team was more or less disbanded by August.

As far as I know STX has always had a very small/weak B-Team. They seemed to put more emphasis on their A-Team.

May be the disappointing results of Team 8 were due to the lack of normal practice partners instead of famous players. Now Team 8 has a decent practice partner.
Dove played him on fish! like a month ago, and he was already at team 8 at that time. you find the rep in dove's pack (acc QKti) guy needs more practice -.-

Haha that'd be cool. And then they can just go all-out and get kolll as a practice partner as well, and then Team 8 can start looking for foreign sponsorship. Dreams are nice~
Ryo always making our days happier ! nice news, it warms my heart, i hope t8 start performing better nowm well they are already doing better than before go check !
according to the guys on the first page check isnt getting paid? is that really true? hopefully he will be able to contribute to the team though... although in my fantasy i still fantasize about hiya coming back and nuking everyone he see.
