What happened to the original two colour commentators? Did they retire? Not complaining about the arrival of the MBC guys, just curious.

Waitin' it out until OSL.

Rumor has it that Big JK, Kim Carrier, and Kingdom are all doing some sort of secret, individual
projects that seek to relay foundations of Brood War and gain support. Also possible
they're also creating a secret TV series on said project,

Kinda like how they trained rookies for the Dual Starleague, just bigger.

No citation/source from me though so bash if you want.
Still, better that than them just sitting around though imho.

They are just new editions. Don't worry. They didn't go anywhere.

They split the commentator roles last season (certain guys only do OSL while the others do PL) so that each league would have its own distinct voice. I think Kim Carrier would be disappointed at the lack of carriers this season anyway. Only used in 1 game so far, and that was the only TvP that Sea won.

And with no OSL on the horizon ("early 2012", oh boy, that could mean it starts as late as May), we may not see them for a some time - if ever.

What, secret individual projects? lol
As mentioned above, Kingdom is serving his mandatory military service. Kim Carrier and UJK are OSL-exclusive, but they will be featured in the LoL broadcasts that OGN is planning.

Also, here is some good news (which I saw on Fomos today)!
Commentator Kim Dong Jun, who was laid off with the end of MBCGame and wasn't picked up immediately by OGN for SCBW broadcasts like LSW and the other guy who's name I don't remember, has been picked up recently by OGN for casting LoL alongside Kim Carrier and UJK for the upcoming OGN LoL Invitational (related TL article: here)
+ Show Spoiler +
(he is nicknamed 'Best in the Universe', something about him using that phrase often - example: player X needs to execute the 'best defence in the universe' to hold that push off!)

So, we welcome back more familiar faces! I'm not a regular when it comes to watching LoL broadcasts, but I think I'll give it a try with OGN because their broadcast makes everything sooo much more exciting!

According to the same article, now-OGN commentator Kim Dong Jun
- is obviously very grateful and excited
- still wants commentate SCBW if he's given a chance
- believes that Korean players are good individually (micro-wise), but Korean teams still need to work on their teamwork to catch up to the already well-established international teams

*edit: yes I felt that this thread "OGN Commentators" was an appropriate thread to announce this news.
*edit2: just incase... Korean source (Fomos)

this MBC caster is this guy who shouted alot ? who casted BW for like 11 years or something ? the one that said "reaver reaver reaver" like 20 times in 5 seconds ?

and he is casting LoL with Kim Carrier ?

oh noes.. -.-

I think they should switch mid season with current BW casters, that would be sweet

Oh no that reeboreeboreeboreeboreeboreebo guy is Kim Chul Min.
Kim Dong Jun is the younger guy, he was also known as (T)[n2]Rookie or something in his brief BW career.

the "reaver reaver reaver" guy you're talking about, mbcgame caster Kim Chul Min, already had a side job as a professor at Ju-Sung University so although I really miss him, he's not gonna end up on the streets or anything.

shark will go to the military most likely.

i'm more worried about park sang hyun, the other mbcgame caster. such a talented individual...hope he quickly finds a place to display his talent.

all in all, i have nothing against the ogn commentators but they just aren't as fun to listen to because of the lack of chemistry. even with lee-seung-won and yu-dae-hyun in ogn now, it's not the same. it's probably not as bad for some of yall if you can't understand korean but even then, i'm sure you guys can notice the difference in enthusiasm and exaggeration. we don't get to hear many exasperating, continuous "gggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggg"s at the end of games anymore.
