Amazing article!! Until this, I've always known Hiya as a mediocre second-rate player on OZ who is always in JD's shadow. Now I really love and respect the guy. Thank you very much for this Bibbit, truly inspiring article. I'll miss you HiyA :'(

That was an amazing write up, I came to the sc:bw scene pretty late, and didn't really get super into it until sc2 (sorry) but that was a fantastic tribute.

Great write-up! As a Lecaf/Hwaseung fanboy, I sure appreciate it, and thank you for it!

One thing that is kind of missing imo, emphasizing how clutch a player (T)

HiyA was in teamleagues, is the final game of the 2007 Grand Finals.

These finals had started grimly for Oz since JD lost his first set to one of the worst terrans on the scene, Frozean (who went 0-11 or something in a PL round quite a few months later).
However, ~~Fin~~ (T)

fOrGG pulled a small upset by defeating (P)

JangBi. Then Lecaf's 2v2 won their game for once, and (P)

Anytime, being the awesome leader that he was, managetdto upset (P)

Stork, one of the best PvPers of all time.

So sure, Lecaf was up 3:1 so (T)

HiyA could afford to lose. But he was facing (T)

firebathero, who was a really good TvTer, and the heavy favorite for this game. And with a 2v2 following, which Lecaf was notoriously bad at, losing almost surely meant an ace match would be played.

(P)

Stork had just lost to (P)

Anytime, but (Z)

Jaedong had been shockingly crushed by ~~Cuteangel~~ Frozean, so Lecaf could not feel that confindent going to the ace match.

Considering he could give Lecaf a PL champion title, yeah, I think it's safe to assume that (T)

HiyA was under quite a lot of pressure.
Honestly, I don't remember that game too well, though I think it was pretty close. The thing I remember though is FBH crying on his keyboard as (T)

HiyA showed nerves of steel and sealed the victory.

Lecaf became PL champions, January probably facepalmed, and the whole team congratulated Hiya, who was celebrating like mad.

Man, those were good ol' times. Thank you for these, (T)

Awesome HiyA memories.

HiyA has gone on record and said that he and Jaedong weren't particularly close. I wonder why when they've been teammates for so long. You'd think opposites would attract... but I guess not.
