This one was a quickie ^^ First version taken from ff, the Chinese version taken from playsc.com
There is another article about boxer and yellow but it's kinda long. I'll see if Emlary wants to do half of it -__-
July
Kim Tae Hee
Your secret to Muta-Micro. You can only do it over UDP, it’s impossible to do it on BNet. It’s not hard, if you practise a lot, you can do it. All you have to do is move, attack, retreat; move, attack, retreat.
Why can you only do it over UDP but not BNet? BNet has a lot of people online, so the latency is usually high, and so you can’t do things like muta-micro. It’s much faster on UDP so it is possible to do.
Who do you think is the toughest ZvZ opponent? The outcome of a ZvZ match up is mostly determined by the strategies involved, and therefore there isn’t a touch or easy opponent, it’s all the same.
What made you determined to become a progamer? I wanted to become pro; I wanted to be on top. I think you’ll get the same response regardless who you ask.
The game that you remember most clearly? The Gillette OSL’s dual league, I had boxer and oov in my group.
Anything you want to say to those who want to become progamers. If you really want to do it, then you must be determined and try really hard, or else don’t do it.
Who do you think is the strongest Terran player? In my opinion, there are three: Xellos, Nada and Iloveoov. They are the strongest overall.
Before you were a pro, how many hours did you practise per day? About 50 practice games everyday.
Do you have a favourite celebrity? If so, who? Kim-Tae Hee, she’s just too beautiful (boxer likes her as well)
Your most respected player, and your toughest opponent? I respect Boxer the most. My toughest opponent is myself.
Have you given up the online game you used to play? Yes, I gave it up totally.
How will it feel to be number 1? I’ve never been number 1, so I don’t really know. If I do become No. 1, I think I’ll be really happy. After becoming a pro, the goal is to win leagues and become No. 1, of course you’ll be happy when your dreams come true.
Closest progamers to you Other than my team-mates, I’m pretty close to Team Go’s players, such as Xellos, midas and foru, I have a lot of close friends other than those as well.
Any superstitious beliefs? I had a lot of those before, but not so much recently. Before, if it rained or snowed, then I would win, but I didn’t win the last OSL, the whether God didn’t help me (figure of speech).
Has the female fan-count increased? I think so, because I see more and more females cheering for me.
When you play against Terran, you try to be aggressive, is there a reason to that? When I’m playing this way, I have good macro, and I think if I play defensively and carefully, it’s not fun for me to play nor my fans to watch, so I choose to be offensive, to make the match more interesting.
Feelings after the IOPS OSL final? Because I lost, that night I felt really sad and depressed, but after that, I feel okay again. I lost because I didn’t play well, not anyone else’s fault.
People say GoRush is your toughest opponent, what do you think of him? GoRush is an excellent player, but his style differs greatly from mine, and so I can’t comment much about him.
If you had a son and he wanted to become pro, what would you do? I’ll let him do what he wants to do as long as it’s not something bad. I’ll let him do whatever I can think of.
What race is the easiest to play against? When I play against Protoss, I feel confident. It seems Z>P from a racial point of view.
Anything you want to do after retiring? I haven’t thought of retiring yet, I’ll think about it.
Your favourite nicknames? "Beef steak"and “God of War”. “Beef steak” sounds better.
Your mouse and keyboard? Mouse is Logitech and keyboard is ___________, mouse pad is _____________. (Sorry! Can’t translate)
People say if you lose weight, you’ll be very handsome, and what do you think? Emmm, losing weight can be difficult because I’m exercising even less. Looking at my photos from childhood years, I can’t even recognize myself. I don’t think I’ll be handsome after losing weight, but I think I’ll be decent-looking at least.
Last words to your fans. Thank you, I will play exciting matches for those who have been supporting me. Dokdo is ours, long live Korea.

It's strange that he didn't put Nada, the guy who just 3:0d him, in the top 3 terrans.
Nada, xellos, oov

Last words to your fans. Thank you, I will play exciting matches for those who have been supporting me. <Some island> is ours, long live Korea.
OMG LMFAO. I can't believe he mentioned the island lol. Not like progamers have any control over political boundaries. Haha Idk that was funny coming from July.
|
hmm, what island was he talking about? :x
And what about that island in general? I WANNA KNOW MOOOOOOOOOOOOORE : P
was a nice read btw <3
|
Has the female fan-count increased? I think so, because I see more and more females cheering for me. That's always a good sign of becoming a popular progamer
Thanks for translating, Cambium; hope you and/or Emlary can do the ones for Yellow and Boxer, too. Again, you have my thanks and gratitude for making TL.net such a wonderful place.

http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=24846 that thread is 'kind of'' relevant to the island issue
btw.. from my understanding, the 2 most currently popular female stars in Korea is Kim Tae Hee and Lim Soo Jung... I posted pics of Lim in that post and got flamed T-T

Dokdo Island
I'll google search it later, super tired.

Jesus, 50 games a day before going pro.
|
That's just 2 games per hour
|
On March 16 2005 14:29 Purind wrote:That's just 2 games per hour
MORE than 2 games per hour
and thats if you played 24hrs a day O_O
july seems cool
actually i don't think i've ever read an interview of an sc progamer where they didn't sound cool
|
On March 16 2005 13:54 RiSE wrote: Jesus, 50 games a day before going pro.
The most I played was 20 game in a day.
You can probably do 50/day if you have multiple practice partners.

How old is that girl? cause she looks to be like 14? 16 at most?? And she isn't even that hot, whats the big attraction, is it like that barely legal porn shit?

Doing a quick google search she appears to be 24-25. I think she's cute. Don't turn this thread into an "Asian girls are gross" thing:[
July is awesome.
|
zeus also likes KTH, as well as like every guy i know -_-
cool interview~ i like july..
|
I played 22 or 24 games on wgtour within 6-8 hours or so once during holidays. And there I have to find an opponent each time and report games. Plus, newbie/mediocre player games tend to be longer, I think, because 1) newbies don't know when to quit 2) newbie don't know how to take advantage of opponents mistake or how to finish one.
Therefore 50 games is feasible if its your job. Rek, how many games a day did you play when you practiced on Hexatron?

Heh, personally I can't play more than about 5 1v1s in a row at most, and that's when playing with friends. Against random people I rarely played more than 3 games in a row or so. Over 20 games of wgtour in one day is completely impossible for me :o

#$%#$% OK FINE! I'll rephrase it to "He only plays 2.08333 games per day." And yes, he does operate on 24 hour playing schedules. Pros only sleep on weekends.

Even Julyzerg agrees with me.
Yet, every time I say Z>P, somehow I always manage to get 50 people show up and say stfu the game is 100% balanced. Rediculous.
|
but it's so hard when protoss goes dark archon, archon, zeal, and etc T_T meal storm and storm own zerg...
|
Even Julyzerg agrees with me.
No, you agree with July.
ZvP is actually very hard for me, I find ZvT and ZvZ much easier. Probably because 80% of the games I play are against T's trying to Bunker rush me.

Recently, some regional goverment of Japan declared "Dokdo" as their territory, which is very small island on the East sea of Korea and obviously under control of Korea. This made Koreans pissed off a LOT. July just showed himself as one of Koreans.

If you link me the interviews for Boxer/Yellow I will try and translate them if I get this hw done.
Timeline on China with pictures. Seriously, I thought I'd have to stop coloring shit after 2nd grade (--v).

I think 2 things of interview are wrong.
Have you given up the online game you used to play? Yes, I gave it up totally. ----> The question is "Did you really stop(=give up) eatting Mango juice? ( he likes mango juice very much, but he decided . to lose weight)
Your favourite nicknames? “Relieved” and “God of War”. “Relieved” sounds better. ----> not "relieved" , actually "lean meat of short ribs" ( 안심 --> pronounced "An-Sim" have two means, but in this case it means AnSim - steak(=beefsteak). before, he said he wanna to eat steak. maybe his teams financial situation is not good at that time. fans have called him AnSim since that. actually i'm not sure about this story -.-; “God of War” is pronounced "Tu-Sin". "An-Sim" > "Tu-Sin" good to hear with its ptonounce...

Ok, thanks, I'll update it.
I translated it from the Chinese version, so don't blame me
Isn't there a crazy online game that's extremely popular in Korea right now and a lot of Progamers are taking time off to play that game?
