If someone says a player has never won a star league, they likely mean the player has never won an osl OR msl. That's weird because I've seen people refer to the leagues as "Individual leagues"

That being said. the MSL is more prestigious than the OSL now-a-days. In my opinion of course. Unless you think random = better.

When most people say "Starleague" or "SL" they usually are referring to the OSL and MSL combined. But there are also a lot of people who realize that this is technically incorrect, and only say "Individual Leagues". That being said. the MSL is more prestigious than the OSL now-a-days. I mean look at MSL: It has the best commentators, best show factor, rank based play offs to guarantee good semis & finals: and legendary Kim Chul Min also hosting finals gives it a real aura that OSL lacks. Because its a big deal, even at proleague matches when you see that MBC channel is showing game, you know you gonna get good rollercoaster and the casters are gonna go apeshit at stuff going on.

However, if we add in OGN's ex-progamer commentators to the mix, then i think OGN has the better commentators, but those 3 don't ever cast for OSL anyways. I like watching MBCGame/MSL a lot more than OGN/OSL, but I do think OSL is more prestigious for a variety of reasons, like always having the better sponsors, overall more difficult to win, smaller group stages, etc etc.

In Korean culture? Pretty much. We westerners may not respect our elders but countries like Korea certainly do. Hyung, noona, oppa, bowing to your elders etc. etc.
