Personal Note: EXTREMELY pleased that Ace maps are not zerg havens. Was pissed at Outsider for playing its part in killing off Khan 2 years ago. Maps for KT vs STX
KHAN nixed the Zerg map, Stars turned down a Protoss map. Seems to make sense. KT turning down Terran map means... they don't have any other Terran besides Flash. STX most balanced team, turns down the most balanced map. I'm guessing they're going for all-out sniping strategies, because nothing else makes sense.
Ughhhhhh. Ace maps for KT v STX are terrible for KT if they plan on playing Flash. Can't wait for Kal to carrier gay the first day, Calm to 2 hatch ezpz muta Flash the second day .
KT only really has Flash, and I doubt that with his shorter practise schedule he will be able to deal with neo beltway. So its probably better to have a map pool that hes more experienced in.

I have a feeling KT isn't planning on using Flash for Ace matches anyway, Flash has lost vital matches on both Icarus and Aztec.
How can fortress be boring... i'm itching to see flash pull off another epic dropship play when he spawns on 3 oclock and his 'dinner' is spawned at 6 oclock. Just like how he vs'ed turn and best about half a year ago.
I'll be expecting Stats on ace match on day 1. He's competent enough for ace these days.

Flash needs to rest. I'm sure the plan is to finish the matches before ace. Flash fighting!

I think the new format was intended to filter out the best teams, rather than the best players, having a team with 1 ace player playing once in the bo7, then the ace match of bo7, then the super ace match of the series would result in a player winning 3 out of 5 wins in a supposedly team oriented league.

I kind of want to see a combination of the two: play day one and day two like they are now, day three is a Bo7 between the ace players.
But then I remember I'm not a KT fan, and snap back to reality.

dunno much about map specifics, but i watched it live, and it was such a heartbreaker. since then i'm always nervous when KHAN plays zerg players, and Stars have no lack of those.
nevertheless, KHAN for 2010-2011 proleague champions!
edit: seems like those Ace maps are still Z favored vs P (unless the Z>P generality still applies, in which case it would make more sense).

La Mancha does indeed seem Z>P a bit. But it's not horrific by any means. New Empire of the Sun is huge terran map where PvT is still quite playable. But teams almost never send zergs out on there. Overall, there could be some guessing games involved, like perhaps Stars send free instead of zero, or Khan sending Reality instead of Stork/Jangbi, etc. It will be fun.
But at least it's not "well we know CJ will send effort on Outsider but it doesn't freaking matter because we have no anti-zerg player in our lineup"

Uhh the worst map for terran is icarus with its 47.5% TvZ.. hardly a disadvantageous map.

The only person you should be blaming for that is Stork himself. He himself knows how Outsider PvZ should optimally be played and ignored it anyways. His gameplan vs Effort was just facepalm in how did ever expect it to work. Late grades/templar tech with heavy goon comp is pretty lol vs hive zerg with superior upgrades.

is the final round vs skt going to be a single bo7 like it was last year? that one threw me for a loop last time i thought skt was just down 0-1 when kt had won the whole thing.

You forgot that your new ace player is Hoejja :D Both of these are really ZvP imba, I can totally see Hoejja > Kal on them.
So at this point everyone thinks STX is going to beat KT...? I really doubt that...
Flash is going to be out in full force during the playoffs and KT is not a bad team. I think they will very likely get up to at least CJ before bowing out. I say that as a fan, but also as someone just looking at team strength. Their round 5 wasn't great and they don't have too many playoff results recently (seeded to the finals last year, not even in them the year before..) but I think they will surprise people.
