Boxer still has his flare in SC2. He just can't win anything. His cleverness has been the key to his middling "success", but he's basically just the SlayerS founder now. Not that I'm complaining, because Slayers has been great for SC2, but I think the window for BW players to walk into SC2 and start owning is closing. Except for Boxer himself, Slayers, MVP, FXO, and F United (Incidentally, F United, what was wrong with the name WeMADE FOX? That was a great name!) are kind of low on the BW players, and that's a third of the teams. If Yellow wanted to play SC2, he'd have done in a few months ago. According to the Elephant in the Room article, there's a big contract renegotiation in August. Anyone who hasn't made the switch by then isn't gonna. And anyway, pretty much everything in Yellow's statement implies that he's out of pro-gaming, which excludes SC2 (And probably Poker, actually) from his list of professions. The only realistic options for Yellow are 1. Brood War coach/commentator or the like 2. Something not e-sportsy at all, like Florist. If you must talk about Yellow's possible future in SC2, do it in the SC2 forum, because it's not happening, and even if it were, it wouldn't be BW news.

And no, he ain't a commentator/caster material. He's either gonna retire from progaming altogether, or switch over to SC2 by persuasions from BoxeR, NaDa, and other old-school progamers from his generation. I for one, am excited from this news.

But back then, MSL / OSL wasn't everything. Besides, some of the tournaments he won had S-class players in them - people who won OSL / MSL. Players like BoxeR, JinNam, TheMarine, and more. Yellow was obviously at the highest level.

You're ridiculous. I wish people would stop saying this. He's not switching, cos he's not desperately gasping for money/fame/acceptance. Sorry, but all these stupid comments drive me to it. Keep them to yourself. This decision makes complete sense for Yellow- better to quit now, and be remembered as the awesome part of the scene which he was, than to fade into obscurity and eventually fall off the edge of the map. Good decision, GGs Yellow.
