Nice collection but i know 1 vod that you should put for 2007 it's ChRh Vs Bisu on Monty Hall Set 4 of MBC vs Ace here the vods the will jsut show that single game
I think the first two games from the Fantasy vs Jaedong OSL semis in 2009 could go there as well. Those two games on HBR and Outsider were pretty awesome as well.
And yeah, if you have a list for 2011, definitely put the Snow vs Jaedong series in there.

I expressed my fear on this happening two months ago:

I'm thinking of some options, like unlimited online storage so I could backup all new games.
thank you so much that's just what i needed to fail midyear exams
edit : if someone could find some VODs of Elky i would love hime forever. i remember a game against a P where he were using vulture micro to delay DT without having any detection, i think he lost the match but hey i'd just like to see again how classy he was

Amazing! Thx for bringing back old memories. I rewatched Oov vs Ra in 2004 Gillette OSL, pure one base back and forth aggression. I'd rather watch that 10 times in a row than a random 35 min 3 or 4 base slugfest. Those guys clearly weren't as mechanically sound as todays top players but they were artists !
2004 was approx the year I really got hooked into BW programing, until 2006/2007. When I got back to it briefly in 2009 I could never find the thrills of that 2002-2006 era. I watched Flash/Effort and Flash/jaedong finals and I found it tedious (exept the game where Effort tried to hydra bust Flash : that was ballsy). Maybe it's just that all my favorite players were gone, I don't know ...
Btw if you are afraid to loose these VODs I have a shitload of them on CDs (good ol' days :p)
This is a really good compilation, thanks for putting it together. May I suggest to add Xellos vs Yellow on Nostalgia from 2003 Olympus OSL, they played Nostalgia twice and I believe the 5th set was the memorable one. I cannot check this unfortunately, since TLPD has only one of them.
Damn this came at an amazing time. Never was into BW until I came to this site b/c of SC2. However, now I'm starting to really be entertained by BW despite knowing little of what's going on. Hopefully watching these VoDs will help me understand what is good BW play and what is good BW strategies. Thanks for the VoD list and thanks admins for spotlighting this.
NaDa vs sAviOr @ Superfight III was the first set of pro bw game i ever saw. Man it was amazing.
I remember going onto youtube it was still a pretty new site, and I was looking for high level brood war play i could copy, and learn from. I just started really getting into playing BW competively. I knew koreans owned at bw, but i never knew the level of it.
I was terran player since I first played the game like when it came out.(1999ish) lookin for strats, afterward I started playing zerg, and never played terran again.
It's so crazy to see how primitive general play was in the 2001-2002 era. Macro just seemed almost nonexistent, and build orders were all over the place. Heck, at times it seemed that even a D-level player from iCCup today could competently compete during those years. It's absolutely insane to see how far the metagame has come.
Great compilation. I can't wait to watch all the VODs from 2001 to 2010.
i think in 2009 bisu vs flash wcg korea 3set should be included..sure it wasnt a huge match but some of the sickest micro ive ever seen was produced in that game sorry if this was brought up already...i didnt read all the posts
Thanks guys for your kind words, actually; only now I realise that lot of stuff is missing...
Savior vs TT - damn, I was even planing to include that game. How could I forgot? Zero vs Great - same as above... am I getting old quickly? Haha, no - the game is in OP. Bisu vs Flash WCG - I gotta (re?)watch this to decide... Maybe it's indeed worth it? Boxer vs Iloveoov - lol, Freudian mistake; I really wish The Emperor was so good in 2007. Bisu vs Savior final - one-sided, although on second though, I'll put Game 2 into the list.
Various bugs/typos - thx, I'm on a quest to fix them ATM.
And I'm going to look up fore some more stuff, like Nada vs Xellos game where Nada kills like 15 Tanks with Spider Mines... One or two Effort's games belong here as well so stay tuned for updates!
i just noticed all the 2009 vods of bisu are of him losing T_T and if you want stuff with humungojumbo explosions jangbi vs nada is a very good one. and there was another one with flash vs someone i dont remember where half his army is destroyed with 3 dark templars and spidermines

Great compilation. I can't wait to watch all the VODs from 2001 to 2010.
Even until 2005, watch July vs Reach finals, this is prehistoric compared to now.
This thread shows how much the "common" man in the TL community can make something so friggen great! thank you I love the clean format and how the years are in descending order. the best for last! haha. BW has come a long long way.
Sick list of games. If you want to add another cutesy kind of game like july vs best, Jaedong vs Lucifer on colosseum. Most amazing cheese defense I have ever seen
reach beating oov at macro! the beginning of the true macro toss. MASS UNITS EVERYWHERE. STOOOOORMS. REACH. the manly gorilla terran vs the man(ly)toss.
holy moly you need a reason to include this game? seriously? :D cattlebruisers queens defilers devourers TANKS everything, base destruction, good example of late game terran (tank switch for the extra power punch vs ultras/swarm)
Nice collection of games, bookmarked. Thanks for the effort. ;D
As for 2011 I can immediately say at least one game of JD vs Snow. Not that it matters because the year is not over yet.
btw, I think you might have misplaced one game: (P)Reach vs (Z)Yellow, Mercury, EVER OSL, Group B Should be in 2004, not 2003 I think.
Don't know if you're accepting funny bonus suggestions, but Much pylon heart was great.

i think this list is awesome but lacks some of the great games from WCGs, like of androide, fisheye and grrr all doing good job vs koreans which in correspondent years appeard to be epic battles.
Well, since it was bumped, I'm going to take this place to ask for your help. If you can provide any more YouTube VODs to awesome old games that are worth putting into OP, I'll be grateful.
DISCLAIMER: Please, let it be really, really damn good games, not games where one player mangles the other or long, boring slugfests with hundreds of units. Amazing strategies, thrilling micro moments, back-and-forth play and preferably the combination of those are most welcome.

Damn it, I would give anything to find this. TT I mean Androide vs. Silent_Control @ WCG of course. But thats just unavailable anywhere, I'm afraid. TT
Yeah, it's an awesome thread! I'm actually thinking of ripping the games in the OP from youtube and uploading them on the TL tracker. Would you guys download it if I did?

I ripped all the VODs in the OP and made a torrent of them. There were 3 games I couldn't rip as they were either removed or wouldn't get ripped. It will take a while to upload it as it is 12gb, but I will definitely upload it till you guys get it, so just be patient and wait! If it doesn't finish till the 7th of June, I will move my computer to my dads house, and then I'll be able to upload 600-700kb\s! I'll also be able to stream BW games live and commentate, and if people wanna join commentating or think streaming old BW games and commentate is a good idea, please let me know! This will be the summer of BW!
There was a game of H.O.T-Forever vs Grrr... (or might be GARIMTO) on Blade Storm. If I remember correctly, it is in a pimpest play video too. Can't find it though.
It had dark archons & archons maelstrom on ultras, and at the end + Show Spoiler +
Awesome archive, although I do think there are some games missing but there's still plenty here. Watching the 2007 Flash vs Boxer match was great. The results were very interesting. It would be nice to have a rematch between the two but I can only guess that Flash will dominate!
Stats vs Effort on Electric Circuit. Currently listed under 2011.
I really wasn't impressed with the game. Stats play was very solid, of course. Excellent defense and great storms. Effort's play, however, consisted of multiple drops, each of which consistently failed to do any damage at all, and a few semi-successful HT snipes. Fairly one sided. Not at any point in time was Stats in any danger.
Does this game really deserve to be listed as one of the best in 2011?

I'd add this game, I remember watching it back then and thinking wow this Action kid is amazing, I bet he'll become the next big thing. (I guess he didn't quite live up to that, but he was still a very good player.)

The fact that it was so long doesn't mean that it was a good game. For further research why, read this recap.
BTW, self-bump guys - please post some 2012 games worth watching. I haven't been watching SC at all last year, so I have no idea what could I put into OP this time, but I'll be glad to compile last year must-watch list from your suggestions.
Question for every BWer that uses battlenet. I am contemplating on buying the battlechest to get back on battle net, is it worth it? I am not sure if it is because on iccup, the population seems pretty dead. Anyone that gives information on # of users usually online/active on battlenet would be greatly appreciated. Thanks to everyone on this site!!

i don't think people use battle.net much (other than USW/USE for 3v3 or 4v4 bgh/zc games), lots of people on iccup and fish though.
I'm looking for a certain jaedong mass hydra ZvP game, and I do mean 200/200.. i think it's on this list somewhere but i cannot find it! i remember the map being very blue overall

Nothing to do with it atm I think. All vods belonging to MBC game have been set to private as the nevake account received some sort of warning based on copyright infringement, and nobody wants the entire account to die.
Might be able to find them still though, on various other YT accounts
