Round 5 gives me a new hope for a better tomorrow. A #1773th place finish was the worst I've had so far and I want to rebound from that horrific start. My lack of faith in Wemade was my undoing. :[
my problem last round was that my antiteam of really, effort and gorush buttraped me, although my team of flash and 5 other three point newbies did pretty well.
also, leta, hogil, puma are almost always going to be used by hite every match, that alone makes them a good choice to consider since they definitely have chance to take some games
backho is coming back, for 1 point. perhaps a good trade? considering that apart from hiya, jaedong they only have lomo, killer and perfectman who are all 2points +?
Hm, not really sure what to pick: Classic+WeMade FOX or Action+Hwaseung OZ. Also, Jaedong so expensive. Went from 10 to 11 even though he was 10.20 last round :/
Was debating between Baby and Effort for the 7 point role but finally decided on Effort due to team reasons. Effort is on CJ and CJ, at least, in my opinion, would tend to gravitate more towards Effort for a Zerg player. Wemade has a smorgasbord of Terrans (Mind, Major, Baby, Midas, Nada) and with Roro, Shine, and Pure potentially claiming spots, I think that Wemade would be a lot more likely to give Baby a few breaks. In addition, with Effort beating Flash in the OSL, that should be a major kick to his confidence levels. Add that with his returned form and consequent respectability in all 3 matchups, and I see him to be quite a force.
Roro, I picked because of his past performance. Believe it or not, Roro has hung around in Top 20 Fantasy Player Performances the past two seasons (unless I counted wrong). With that kind of oddly consistent performance, plus the fact that Proleague typically has at least one map characterized by ZvZs, and I elected to take Roro.
Free has been flying under the radar and as a main player in Woongjin, good play at the moment, and really modest price, I would jump at the opportunity to add him.
Stats has, at least in the last few games, shown that he can win, and can string a win streak together. Plus, Stats did turn in a good performance last proleague FPL season but necessarily making decisions based on that isn't the greatest idea. I have confidence that Stats will be able to seize some lineup spots in KT Rolster and, at least, in my opinion, all the other 4 point options aren't all too viable. However, I'm still wary at the grim possibility of KT Rolster fielding Flash/Hoejja/Violet/ForGG instead, which is very likely.
Classic may be a rather strange face to see here. His relative invisibility rivaling that of the infamous "Invisible Terran" Light can clearly be characterized by the grand total of 4 people owning him by season's end. However, Classic has quietly been able to string together a good-looking win streak and may be looking for a breakout season. In addition, with Upmagic's absence, there will be more opportunities for Classic to squeeze his way in the lineup. After all, Flying/Really/Action may be used, but that still leaves one spot left for him potentially.
Lastly, 45[Name] is just a complete gamble as a speculative 1-point add. It was either him or his other numbered counterpart 49. With Hite losing a SHITTON of players because of the betting scandal, the entire Hite lineup has opened up. Leta/Puma/Horang2/Hogil have been making starts; however, I still believe as a ZvZer 45 or 49 would be able to poach a couple of games and with the toss-up that is ZvZ, I believe they would be able to take some games. As I said with Roro earlier, ZvZ maps tend to appear in Proleague, so I'm gambling that 45 makes it in as a ZvZer and pays off for way more than his 1 point value as a role player in that depleted Hite team.
Bisu, I picked for my Anti-team because well, sadly, he hasn't been performing quite up to snuff lately and has been on quite the losing streak. His decline, I'm thinking will probably continue. He may pull off the occasional victory, but in general, Bisu's best years are behind him.
Great, I picked for pretty much the same reason as above. Except Great isn't necessarily trending down, but has been on a losing streak and with Khan beginning to give Zergs like Juni lineup appearances, this could pose as playing time interference for Great. As a 5-pointer, Great is also an intriguing anti-team pick.
Lastly, s2, though he has managed to compile a 3 game winning streak (though after a 5 game losing streak), I believe, will still struggle. It's a gamble indeed, but I'm hoping Hyuk "hyuks" s2 of the majority of the ZvZs/Zerg-matchup based games, thereby depriving s2 of lineup appearances and potential points to screw me over.
Finally, as a TEAM pick, I selected Wemade, because aside from me being a Wemade fan, Wemade has shown great progress in R4 of the Proleague and their depth is pretty good. I'm looking for Wemade to continue their torrid performance and continue to rack up the wins.
Long analysis is long. @_@
Hopefully the team pans out. But if that's not the strangest team I've fielded yet I don't know what is. Only truly "recognized" players would be Free/Effort (not really Roro though, he's more known for his anti-team raping if anything else rather than a main team asset.)
Normally Horang2 would be a great anti-team, but with the way events unfolded, he's know sadly Hite's 2nd best player and is guaranteed to play every game =(
Main Team 3 Classic Same reason as flamewheel's 3 Point 6-0 is win.. but lets hope it doesnt backfire t_t 3 Hydra My signature? Plus hes getting consistent. 4-3 in R4 and took down MANY MANY big names in the MSL. Took a Jaedong to kick him off his streak. 4 Kwanro 3 points because he was inactive. i think its a bargain but Kwanro Kwanfails alot so its a gamble. He took a break from a sickness but came back going 2-0 after going 3-1 in PL during April. 6 Really Not that big of a fan of Really but, hes eSTRO's ace and i had room for 6 points. he seemed to be best choice imo 5 Snow (captain) Yea? 5 points damn hes gotten expensive. i miss everyone being 2 points t_t.. Hes CJ's rising star and protoss's future hope. hes shown entertaining games a lot and sniped the ultimate weapon. plus, hes the dreamleague bonjwa. 4 Stats another huge chin on my team. 4 Points.. damn hes cheap. i think hell prove his cost by showing us his consistency. with none of his match ups under 50%, hes going to be KT's left hand man. (Well its HoeJJa but you know what i mean ) 5 CJ Entus Fanboyism and theyre cheaper than KT and STX?? They also did so much better this round losing very few matches.
Anti Team 4 Free Heh. ever since his 3-1 vs HiyA in the MSL, he has yet to win a game. 5 Great Him too. He lost to Clam and has yet to win a game since then. 4 Killer Not consistent enough. He went 2-5 in R4.. Oz is trying so hard to turn him into neo Jaedong but SKT is doing better with s2..
Flash and Jaedong.. are expensive. 11 fucking points. There arent that many great 2 pointers so i wouldnt take them if i were you ;( I think Kal might be worth it. 8 points and one of the most frequent aces. he has been inconsistent in the past but now, hes a beast. People would choose him because he has a killer PL record. BaBy and EffOrt are 7 points because they supported their teams very much and thats why their teams cost so much. Fantasy.. also 7 points but he isnt consistent but hes played out much that he gets alot of points. Leta is Hite's ace at 7 points also. Hes no doubt going to do well but hope he doesnt play TvP.
Puma is a gamble. 2 points? hes a good buy but he lost EVERY SINGLE GAME SINCE WINNERSLEAGUE.. Iris Movie and s2 are all 3 points. Iris and movie are some of CJ's best. but atm, Iris has returned to glory (sorta) and Movie has slumped into a slump. s2 out of nowhere earned himself 2 wins in R4. will s2 continue with his game? will Iris continue to be the baller that he is? will Movie return from his slump? find out in the next round of Shinhan Bank Proleague. FBH, Reach, and Jaehoon. They have the ability to give you many many points. Reach sorta exploded from his weary ace gameplay into the MANTOSS Jaehoon is played out alot and he can snatch wins if he decides to reveal his gosu powers. FBH.. where have you been?.. where? Lastly, we have the next Hero Toss. Hes only 1 point for gods sake. Hes a mighty gamble though. take him for 1 point. will he deliver? maybe.
On May 27 2010 10:35 kOre wrote: Any insta Anti-Team picks? So far I have Hogil, Hyuk, and Stats but would it be better to go 1 heavy player and 2 small ones?
Well, Like i explained in my team, Killer and great are auto picks. Clam, Sea, Violet, Best, Lomo and free would be major gambles
i believe Jaedong will rip through r5, and BackHo for 1 point is like a gamble with very good odds. i think BackHo might be the difference whether OZ as a team wins or fails
Classic has been doing well lately, so 3 points is a pretty good deal.
hite is only going to play 3-4 of the same players because they have no choice. they will send out Leta, who is doing pretty well. PuMa is showing pretty abysmal stats, but hite keeps fielding him, i believe he will eventually win a few games
RuBy i dont care much about, just an ace player who will definitely play a lot, only needed him to make up a 30 point team
im really sad i couldn't fit Kwanro into my team, who is only on for 4 points.
i think Bisu will make a come back, but not yet. i put great on my team last round, got lucky, and i think he will fail this round. wemade seems to favor playing RorO, Shine, BaBy, Midas, so for 3 points Mind seems like a good option for anti
Normally Horang2 would be a great anti-team, but with the way events unfolded, he's know sadly Hite's 2nd best player and is guaranteed to play every game =(
I'm thinking about picking horang2 for anti anyways and hoping that he doesn't get any vs P in the first few games. Maybe then I can trade him off or something. With the way things are going Bisu might end up being the safer pick at 5 (crazily enough), but I'm not gonna bet against Bisu when I'm rooting 100% for his comeback.
Baby - The best Terran on WeMade Fox, a team with awesome Terrans, with a 11-4 record. Hoejja - The only Zerg on my team, but I figured if he's with Flash, he'll improve his vT. His vZ is terrible, but his vP is decent. Kind of a risky choice, but it could pay off if he gets play time. Midas - My favorite Terran of all time and he's doing really well after his transfer. His vZ and vP are awesome and his TvT is not too shabby. I think he and Baby will get lots of play time. Ruby - As of the better, if not best, players on ACE, he'll definitely get tons of play time. He's been shakey these past few games, but each season/round is a renewed spirit for ACE. Also, they are getting a few more players in the coming weeks, so I think that'll improve camaderie.. Snow - Tearing it up lately, I think he'll be another break out star with tons of play time. Stork - I never really liked Stork, but he's one of the few consistent players that do relatively well. I think he's the strongest player in Khan and with a Jangbi as a training partner, he'll take it even further this round.
Lomo - Terrible performance as of late. I hope it continues. Mind - Use to be great, but not doing as well as Midas and Baby. This is kind of like a pair trade in finance -- long the high performing securities and short the worse performing securities of the same sector (Terrans in WeMade) Roro - He's kicking tons of ass as of late, so no real good reason to short him. He's one of the few bets that I think will underperform.
I've only played FPL a couple of times, but was never good at it. Please critique my team!
Main: Action: We all know this person has been dominating for quite a bit last round and I hope he does the same on R5
fantasy: Even though fantasy had its ups and downs last round and scaring the shit of everyone his match against Action on Judgement Day. I'm positive in R5 that he'll a lot better on his set matches and ace matches.
Leta: The Miracle Boy and the Captain of hite SPARKYZ. Two question still remains in my head is that will he be the Jaedong of hite SPARKYZ and will he carrying his team on his shoulder?
Movie: I have no idea why I pick Movie for my FPL team and I can't say much about Movie cause he hasn't played much last round.
Pure: For 2 points and made it to OSL R4 against Flash(which he lost) this is such a bargain for only 2 points why not get him?. I say if your looking for a decent protoss in your FPL I would pick Pure.
ZerO: Watching ZerO playing ZvZ is so painful, but if you watch his ZvP or ZvT he completely destroys and has a 60% winning rate in those battles. If the coach of Woongjin Stars is reading this please stop sending ZerO in ZvZ he almost loses every vZ and ACE match of vZ .
hite SPARKYZ: To tell you the truth I believe on miracles and this is the team to believe on. This team was heavily effected in the players scandal leaving with them only 6 players on there roster. Now with the 3 new players from there B-Team I have this feeling that once this 3 new players get use how to play in the real PL matches against players like Kal, EffOrt or Jaedong they could just become like Action or Snow.
Anti: fOrGG: This guy is Hot and Cold like RorO I could have pick someone else like Bisu or great but I pick fOrGG because I have this feeling that he could lose a lot in R5, but don't take my word he has been doing decent in R4 with wins against Really, JangBi, Kal and Jaedong in FPL.
Lomo: I have this half and half sense of why did I put Lomo? and why not put in Lomo? I have no idea what will happen in R5 since we haven't seen Lomo play any PL matches, so It will all depends how many times will the coach will put him against my Main team
Midas: I should be really scared putting Midas in my anti-team just because he could be the RorO of Terran with 50% win rate against any race and could win an ace match for his team.
In conslusion: If you want a cheap protoss that can win you matches pick Pure and if you want a person that you know nothing will happen but some Miracle he win you can pick Lomo
Main Team 4 Action - I think he's good value at 4 points. He's estro's top zerg, so he's practically guaranteed a spot in every match and possibly a few ace matches.
1 BackHo - A bit of a risk, but a 1 point risk so not a huge one. It's no secret that OZ is severely lacking in the protoss department, and if BackHo is playing like his old self he can definitely win some games. However, if he's out of shape after being out of action for the entire season (which, honestly, is likely) he might end up only getting team win points.
3 Classic A bit of a gamble. He won't be appearing in any ace matches, but at 3 points he doesn't need to for me to get my money's worth. He just needs to win a few games, and all signs point to him getting the opportunity. Hopefully he continues to win.
7 Effort (captain) Effort really impressed me in the OSL. He was awful in the round of 16, but after the tiebreakers he really hit his stride and played awesome Starcraft, sweeping the quarterfinals and semifinals and most impressively of all, beating Flash in a best of 5. Hopefully he can avoid the OSL winners curse and have lots of 2 win days as ace of CJ.
4 Sea 4 points is cheap for Sea, especially with Light not playing as well lately. Even though the MBC coach didn't play him in the main lineup every match last round, he still saw quite a few ace matches. Now that Round 5 is here, and MBC is fighting for 2nd place, I don't think Coach Ha will hold Sea back anymore. He'll be sent out in every match, and in several ace matches.
5 Zero Zero is a little bit of a risk. He's in a bit of a slump right now, but I fully believe that he can get out of it and re-claim Woongjin's ace duties. If he starts winning ace matches again, 5 points will have been a bargain.
6 STX Soul STX is on fire. They've got the most momentum of any team right now, and I don't see them slowing down in Round 5 as they chase down KT for the #1 seed.
Anti Team 5 Flying I'm a huge Flying fan, but I don't think he wins enough games to justify his cost of 5. It was either him or Roro - and Roro didn't work out so well for me last season. Flying it is, even though I'll hate rooting against him in proleague.
3 Guemchi I just don't see G-Chizzle getting much playing time after the emergence of Soulkey. He's Woongjin's 2nd protoss behind Free, and I don't see Woongjin fielding 2 protosses in any match with their lineup and the maps being what they are.
5 Hyuk Hyuk is 5 points? Wow. I like my chances here, seeing as he'll probably lose every non-mirror he plays.
free - Seems like a bargain at 4 points, since he gets ace matches sometimes for Woongjin. However, with their shiny new 3-zerg lineup, and MVP possibly getting more playing time, I think Sea and Action were better 4-pointers than Free.
Soulkey - I'm a huge fan of Soulkey's and think he has a lot of potential... but you've got to believe that Woongjin won't send 3 zergs out every single match. Zero and Kwanro are both better than Soulkey right now, so I think that when they choose to use only 2 zergs he'll be the odd man out.
HoGiL - One of the few players left on the depleted Sparkyz team, he should be seeing a ton of playing time, especially now that he's alpha Zerg with the departure of Yarnc. Ultimately I decided that 4 points wasn't worth it since his chances of getting an ace match over Leta are small, and his ZvZ record is ugly.
Hydra - I like Hydra a lot. I picked him last season and he ended up being a great deal for 2 points, and I think he'll easily live up to his 3 point cost. I decided to go with Classic instead because I think Classic will get more playing time.
Leta - Leta is pretty much guaranteed all of Hite's R5 ace matches. Sadly I don't think they'll make it that far too often this season, and that's why I picked Effort over Leta as my 7 pointer.
sKyHigh - Seems expensive at 5. Then I remembered he's really good at mirrors and he's likely to get a lot of them, so I avoided him.
Stork - Stork is my favorite player, and ultimately that's the only reason he isn't on my anti-team. The poor guy is losing games left and right, and logically he'd be a good choice since he seems to have lost ace duties to JangBi and Great, but I just couldn't bring myself to do it.
fOrGG - I doubt he'll play an ace match over Flash again, since this is the final round and KT is competing with STX for the #1 seed. I think he'll win more games than Flying and Hyuk, though.
Horang2 - Same as Skyhigh, basically. He seems expensive, and isn't likely to ever see an ace match. He's really good at PvP though and I think he'll probably get it often.
2 Reach - Even if this doesn't end well, it's totally worth the two points to make my team both manly and awesome.
6 Really - I'm not really sure why I picked Really. Perhaps for the puns? He'll be in the lineup a lot, at least.
4 Stats - Stats had a great round, and I'm hoping his form will continue.
3 eSTRO - I needed a cheap team in order to afford Jaedong, at 3 points and with a good finish in round 4, eSTRO fit the bill.
Anti Team
3 Anytime - Not sure about this one. Anytime had a good round 4, and will get lots of lineup appearances. Very few team win points, though. If he doesn't win too much, it'll be pretty good.
5 Bisu - Last round I picked Bisu for anti, then promptly traded him away as soon as he stopped winning. I'll repeat that mistake this round, too.
5 Great - Another anti-team pick that will get lots of lineup appearances and hopefully lose most of them. I'll probably trade Great away at some point for someone much better, costing me tons of points.
Kal and Leta are both beasts in PL, both get lots of playtime and tons of wins consistently even if they are not S-Class. They make points, and carry this team.
Free and Sea are so friggin cheap and are both very solid players, Free is Woongjin's Ace nowadays, more or less, and Sea is Sea. Yum Bo Sung. yep. only 4 points.
Movie has potential, gets playtime and was only 3 points (Snow was 4, or i'd have taken him instead)
Hydra was to satisfy the race rule and use up my last point, best 1 point zerg i saw...
MBCGame is undervalued due to bad R4 performance, they will show why they were #2 for a long time once again, or at least catch up a little bit to STX
Anytime is 3 points for some reason, he hasn't done terrible in ACE terms but hes below 50% for sure so I won't lose any points from him.
Bisu is likely not going to do well in R5, regardless of whether there is a comeback left in him or not, it wont come out in R5.
Horang2 on AT will fuck me over. I really know that...-.-...I wanted to change this pick. I realized that no matter what he does in PvT, aka 1 base carrier attempt...he IS a PvP bonjwa and will get so much playtime on SPARKYZ due to my team's name. BUT, this increased playtime and workload means he COULD still be the fail 4th dimension toss...so its a double edged sword, it could give me points but has a higher chance, I admit, to lose me points.
All the terran, all so many points! Now it is so hard to make full terran team again . Not impossible, but harder...ah, I'll spend more time on my team making tomorrow...
Anyway, do you think it is nice to make full SKT T1 team? kkkk!
I remember BoxeR said he play game is not entirely focus to be the best, but a way to connect to his fans via his play.
Ah, maybe I should not make a team FTW, maybe....for support? So I watch SKT T1 PL game it is more .... exciting? kkk.
Ah, I'm confused... I'll stick to SKT T1 full team for today. Maybe I'll consider making a better team tomorrow

wow that's a pretty decent team if Light and Sea get back in form and Bisu keeps slumping.
Killer will end you, I swear it upon my soul.
Killer won't play enought to hur tme. Jeadong, Lomo, Hiya, BackHo will be playing the most for Oz. I'm also sure they will send out Princess a couple of time instead of Killer. The only place that I think kille rcould get point is if Oz win lots of win.
I picked 3 protosses for my team, and noticed many people do the same. Seems like everybody is expecting a recovery of protoss race now, when they all are cheap.
analysis: Last time i made lots of mistakes (RorO in antiteam...) i think this time the Team is pretty decent. Leta and RorO are Always good, so they were pretty easy choices. M18M was a pretty random choice, but i think he'll be good for at least 10 to 15 points. Snow, Hydra and Action are all on the way up, so i hOpe the will continue to play well. i've been thinking about Classic, too, but he didn't seem to be worth the risk yet. and finally, i took OZ, because one of the not-jaedong guys will finally stop sucking.
the antiteam is quite a gamble, i JusthOpeBisu continues to slump. best could be dangerous, but i think there will be good possibilities to trade him early enough. and HoGiL won't Win, unless he's playing against Bisu.

CH isn't going to see a lot of playtime, and you might be much better off choosing a 1-pointer on a good team for team points. Free, Kal, and Leta are all solid choices for earning points, but Movie is questionable (has to share playtime with Snow) and Sea at 4 is really cheap... I'm tempted to choose him. I agree with your AT for the most part, except for on the Horangutan which you've already talked about :S

I'd be wary of choosing so many terrans... Lomo will see play time, and despite the fact that he won't win a lot of his games, the fact that he'll show up in the OZ lineup very consistently will cost you points over the long run. Midas, too, don't mess with the teddy bear. Also Pure hasn't been played in PL for a long time, and I don't see that changing since WeMade FOX is able to play a lineup of BaBy, Midas, Shine, RorO, Mind, or even NaDa, with BaBy, Midas, Shine, and RorO all more likely to see playtime than Pure.
Movie's fighting for playtime with Snow, and probably won't see as much action as Snow given Snow's recent breakthrough plus his status of being dreamleague bonjwa. Action is solid (so many people will have him this round), and Leta is a good choice to always earn points, but for 7 points I think EffOrt would be a better choice than fantasy--less flaky, in better form, and more consistent. Also even if Hite were to turn things around, it wouldn't be in the beginning... we'd probably have to wait till next season for them to recover and play as a better team.
i have no idea what to do with sea. he's only 4 points right now because MBC literally only played him like 6 times last round and he only won half the time. Does this mean that MBC will play him all the time now because they want to make sure they stay in playoffs? Or is he horribly slumping and won't be playing at all?
right now I dont have him on either team because i just dont know what to make of him lol
BackHo's only 1 point, and he's back (no pun intended) so he's going to be seeing playtime I hope.
Jaedong is Jaedong. Always on my team since he's my favourite player.
Killer isn't that good, but he's been getting a lot of playtime as Oz tries to get him better and more used to live matches.
Light is a solid pick in general, and has the potential to do really good. Same with Sea. Also has to do something with my like of MBC after watching Hyungjoon.
Pure seems to be a free pick for only 2 points. Wemade has to play a Protoss sometime.
MBC is solid and 3 points. Also, Hyungjoon.
Anti: Bisu has been failing. Probably is going continue to fail.
Iris is overrated right now. Don't think he's going to be getting much playtime.
Snow got a few wins, but overall I don't think he's worth the cost.

Opinions on my team?
BackHo is a gamble, I'm not sure anybody can say what's going to happen. Killer doesn't see too much playtime, and will probably see less since BackHo is back. Jaedong is guaranteed to deliver points but is very very expensive. Also he's cute :3
Light and Sea... I don't know what to make of them. They really failed R4 and dragged MBC down with them (well, there were some shitty Ace decisions, but meh...) and it could pay off big for you, or get you owned. Don't pick Pure, he hasn't been played for the last two months in PL and there's no reason to assume he will what with the strong T lineup for WeMade and Shine and RorO holding down the Z fort.
Snow for AT... bad idea. Look at the kid's record, and he's definitely going to be one of the breakouts.
On May 28 2010 03:12 night terrors wrote: not too sure wether stats or snow, any thoughts on the team?
You already have 2 CJ players, so it's probably a good decision not to get snow. I learned from my first FPL that it's a bad idea to load up your lineup with players from one team.
Your anti-team looks like mine, heh... except I have lomo instead of hyun (just to short OZ even more)
BackHo - will probably get some playtime since he just came back. whether he actually wins anything will be hard to predict, but at 1 point, he can't really hurt you that much. RuBy - Last round he sucked because he pretty much only played T's and P's. His TvZ has always been A-class though, so as long as he faces more zergs he will be worthwhile at 2 points. Sea - It's Sea. At 4 points? Sure he played like crap last round, but it probably won't last forever.
Potential breakouts: Classic - went 6-0 last round, but mostly against scrubs. At 3 points he's pretty cheap and could prove to be actually good. Snow - Everybody knows the game vs Flash. At 5 points, somewhat expensive, but he's definitely on the rise.
Mid-tier: Horang2 - As someone else said, he's probably going to be hite's second best player now. Has a godly PvP and a cheesily unreliable everything else. Just hope that hite's coach is able to put him in the correct spot. Action - Has been a really good player for a few rounds now, but hasn't quite output his worth in points. This season might be the one where he finally learns to transition to late game consistently, where his abilities really shine.
Carry players: Amongst the 7+ points group (Flash, Jaedong, Kal, BaBy, EffOrt, fantasy, Leta), everyone is pretty much going to be worth their point value. The only question is if any of these people are worth slightly more than their point value. I would say that amongst this group, fantasy is probably your worse bet, and Kal probably seems like the best value.
if i wanted to play smart i'd go snow instead of fantasy and use those 2 points elsewhere (likely changing sweattoss or mantoss to chintoss), but he is just so fun
welcoming inputs since this is my first time playing FPL, also does anyone know when GGaemo's transfer to ACE will be complete?
2 1-pointers are just FAR too juicy to pass up... Princess just went 6-0 in the offline prelims, and was picked up for the hwaseung oz a-team lineup BackHo is back, I just don't see him not being a massive payout.
My anti-team I'm taking a gamble on Bisu Best and Free, I'm still hoping for a continued protoss death spiral. the one I'm most worried about here is Free.
I had to drop hyuk off, he's been a staple of my teams for the past couple seasons, but he's just not worth the 5 pts he's at right now, so I went for calm instead (had 1 extra point)
Jaedong at 11 will still be worth it, as he'll be at the top as always :D
edit: yea, swapped free for snow, it puts my anti-team at 14, but it's a better decision overall...
Btw: Why are so many people putting Bisu in their anti-team? He's only performed badly at the last set of games he played and he's always in the T1 line-up. Can't figure out why :D
Be careful with that anti team. Both Great and Free tend to get a decent amount of ace matches. Your main team looks alright, but it depends on what you want to do. If you want to hang on to SKT1 for awhile then it might be a good idea to get more than 1 SKT player on your main team to reap the rewards of them, etc. It's all down to just who you think will do better this round than they did last round (Unless it's KT. Not sure why they cost 6).

I'm pretty sure it's already gone through completely, he should be playing for them now but hasn't been shown in the June roster changes, so it's likely we won't be seeing him play until July.

Crazy-Hydra kind of wastes a point that could otherwise go to team points. He won't see any playtime on Stars since he's vastly overshadowed by Soulkey, ZerO, and Kwanro. It'd be better to choose somebody that's worth one point on say, STX or FOX and at least be able to pick up 7-8 points that you'd otherwise not have. fantasy is definitely, in my opinion, the flakiest of the seven pointers. It'd be better to choose somebody like EffOrt or BaBy, since they have a better chance of delivering. BackHo and Jaedong together could be worth it. Normally, it's rough choosing such an expensive player like the Dong since then you have a huge point discrepancy to make up but who knows, BackHo could be bonjwa. RuBy should get you some points, I think, and Sea is a steal at 4 if he stop sucking / is played / is played for Ace. SKT is solid for team.
Your anti seems fine.
Oh Bisu's there both because a lot of people on TL hate him and also because he severely underperforms as of late. He hasn't even been playing matches in the past few weeks... coaches have to have no faith in him, which is good for the likes of an AT.

Thought this about great as well, but I have the feeling JangBi and Stork may return, in which case they might pick up the ace role as well.

thank you, I think i'll swap him for Princess. do you have any other tips? I may eventually give up fantasy for snow and swap sweattoss or mantoss up to chintoss, will reach's end of service affect his availability in r5?

I personally wouldn't take Puma, not only is he on that losing streak but he has looked absolutely terrible in all of his losses. Midas seems like a bit of a gamble at 4 points too, old-school players tend to flare up for a month or two and then settle back into mediocrity, but he might still be worth his value. Honestly at 4 points there are better choices in free, Kwanro, Sea, etc...
Anti seems fine. Pretty much everybody has Bisu/great anti (or both) so even if they do win some your overall ranking might not drop much haha.
Jpak, I wouldn't be surprised if you happened to do really well lol. It could be like SKT's rape spree a last season. CJ is definitely the team to watch this round, I think they'll own it up. Lots of talent new and old, unslumping current roster, their old "legendary depth" is back.
Too everyone that plays Great on their anti. I hope your ready to lose some points. A very solid Zerg that gets played almost every game by khan. Putting him on your anti is suicide.

I thought about putting Great on my Anti, but then I remembered about that and how many wins he surprisingly got. So I went with Bisu.
I think Killer and Skyhigh are way too overpriced hence they're on my anti. I'm not too sure about Midas on my anti, he's playing some really solid Starcraft recently but I think his great record from last round (5-1)isn't going to be replicated. And he's never the Wemade ace.
Action is a solid zerg, I know his only great MU right now is ZvT but I really do expect this to change. He seems confident in his play right now. I really love Action. I think Really is capable of some great Starcraft and is a good choice for 6 points. Best is a bit of a gamble, but with Bisu slumping hard I think he will pick up some of the slack on SKT T1. And I think the new map is toss favoured? And Grand Line is ok for toss. That's why I put shuttle on my team as well, I'm really looking forward to what results he can produce for STX next round.
I put Hogil in there because Hite is a pretty shallow team right now so I expect him to get a lot of play time, and he is sometime picked for the ace match (even though he always loses ;_;). If Sea plays to half the level he is capable of he is a steal for 4 points.
Samsung Khan because I love them and I predict Stork, Jangbi and great will all play some good games, and I didn't want to put all my eggs in one basket by picking estro with 2 estro players on my main. We'll see. And this time I won't be torn between my favourite players and FPL cause I at least like all my main team players, lol. Bisu on my anti last round broke my little nerd heart every time he played.
effort seems to be rock solid lately. backho being back seems like a great 1 point pickup. free/zero and wjs will get a lot of ace matches, and either free or zero will get picked almost all the time. light for 5 pts as the ace for mbc seems good, and movie at 3 points is a solid pick.
for my antiteam, i'm probably the only person to pick baby. i think he's overrated at 7 pts b/c he's not really the "ace" for fox since they cycle around four people or so for their ace and hyun is plain bad and moon is too.

I think you'll regret that you added Baby to the anti team. Just a personal opinion.

Eh, BaBy will get playtime every time though, and he's going to win matches, plus whatever Ace matches he comes down with. I agree with the poster above in saying that this may be a bad idea...

You're right about Wemade but I still think Baby'll rape your anti. He has the potential to go huge and win the ace matches that he is played in.
Main Team 6 Calm (captain) - Calm made it to the semi's of the MSL, and I think he's just overall a lot of bang for his buck. Seeing as how him and Kal are STX's ACEs, he'll see a lot of play time too. 1 Crazy-Hydra - 1 Point and he puts on some pretty impressive plays every now and then. I had to pick a 1 pointer for my one of my choices and I think he's the best one. Great mutalisk micro as well. 2 Firebathero - Not so hot lately, but his TvT is strong and he should be able to get some points for KHAN at least. If he was worth 3 I would have been iffy on this, but I can handle 2. 4 Free - I am TLs biggest free fanboy probably, and he is still pretty solid, despite his recent games due to the fact he had to Bo5 Flash and lost. 4 points? yesplz 6 Jangbi - JangBi is progressively picking up his game, and I can see him doing well this season. Little expensive at 6 points imo, but I will splurge. 7 Leta - Still hite's ACE and still an overall strong player. I don't see him doing amazing this season, but he should rack up a decent amount of points for hite. 4 Hwaseung Oz - I didn't have enough points for WeMade FOX like I wanted to pick, and I think Oz is pretty easily the best choice worth 4 points.
Anti Team 4 Hogil - I expect to lose some points from this, but I didn't see any better choices with. 5 Horang2 - Same with HoGiL 4 Killer - Same with HoGiL
On May 28 2010 10:43 krndandaman wrote: guys, which is the best 2pointer?
I think I should get rid of Puma because apparently he is horrible.
Any suggestions? really do not want to change my lineup. Need a 2 pointer.
atm its
Snow, effort, kwanro, puma, really, classic ESTRO
looks smilar to my team. I did not need a 2 pointer, but if i did, i had Reach lined up. He plays more than any other 2 pointer, and wins, with a 3-3 record. you won't get points for team wins, but I think it is worth it.
Jaedong- 11 point for a single player is alot even if they win all their regular games, but I have a really strong feeling that JD will be playing well and Oz will have alot of ace matches, I need JD to go 80%-90% for it to be worth the 11 points.
Stats- This guy has been playing in the KT roster more and more, but more importantly posting results he's a bargain.
Kwanro- I feel like the Stars didn't have a strong R4 but I don't think they are bad, I think they will come back this month and with that Kwanro will too.
Classic- For 3 points I could not resist, in my opinion he is at the skill level of Really and he will be getting an appearance every week, I see him taking over the ace player position.
Hydra- Hydra has been playing CJ's games alot now, and winning, the new league of CJ players is being trained, and I see Effort, Skyhigh, and two of the new guys in their roster.
BackHo- He just came back and hes one point, it's a gamble, but for one point I'm taking it as a Oz fan.
Oz- I think Hiya will start posting results and I have a feeling BackHo will too, I see Oz going 9-2 or 10-1 this month.
Anti Team:
Bisu- His time is up, I don't think he's getting anymore playtime.
Lomo- With BackHo back, I think Lomo is the one to be replaced in appearances instead of him. And if he plays I don't think he will win anyways.
Midas- He had a few flashes of brillience vs JD and a couple other PL games, but I don't see it returning.
EffOrt and Snow is on a roll! Since my team is MBC, I think I should have at least one of the MBC players in my team ---> Sea (Only 4 Points, might sometimes play ace match). s2 and Stats: both are in a 3 win streak, and s2 has played a total of 3 games in Round 4!. Action is questionable though, for a 4-pointer his ZvP is a bit weak (losses to DaezanG and Anytime) great loses to everyone. The only people he has beat are HoeJJa, Peace, SoO and RuBy. HoGiL might be played a lot, but he isn't a ZvP monster like he used to be anymore. Killer is always on my anti-team.
IDK about this season so much. Last season I just really had a good feeling about really/action/flying and went for a mostly estro line up that worked out fairly well. Seems a number of others saw that too. This time around I don't see so many rising stars that have really shown themselves to be progressing. Several people are coming back into form or have shown a few good games, but not consistently enough to really draw my attention. In the end I just figured Jaedong is never a bad option, and either way the MSL finals go; they will probably inspire Jaedong to do better still. If Hiya can pull his weight and Oz doesn't push killer too hard, it could work out for me.
How does everyone feel about Iris? I have him on my main team for his relatively cheap cost (and I needed a Terran), but it seems people like putting him in their anti-, too.

For whom should I get rid of Puma for? I'm really not liking my 2 point choices...
Thinking about Puma for -> Jaehoon, Ruby, or Saint. (Mantoss maybe?)
these are going to be my final picks but i have some solid picks and some i have trouble like Horang2, Stats, Kwanro and Xellos
solid picks are Effort because well hes gonna have many games along with Snow and maybe Stats but if you can recommend anyone better, preferably a Teran, that would be great!!!!
im having trouble with Horang2 and Kwanro, and others who are doing much better with the same points. can you give me a replacement for them? a Terran would be really great!
and the team CJ Entus i picked but i in exchange for the expensive team, i get a Xellos for a terran and i think it might give me problems in the long run ..
please help .. :D
regarding my anti-team
i am hoping that Bisu will be playing more games than Best this round, and think it will happen because bisu has been out for a long time, and he might have something ready this round :D
i also think that Killer wont be playing much games because of that new Zerg Princess (WTF name). only won 2 with games and those were rather poor performers.
Zero is 5 points and is rather doing poorly this round and i am hoping that soulkey will be their 2nd Zerg. I really dont get why Zero has really high points along with Bisu.
but if you can recommend something on my team and on my anti team, give me good input, that would be very awesome, and would truly appreciate it .. :D
HoGiL or Horang2 on anti both seem incredibly risky to me as sparkyz has almost no players left, so the few that they do have will see a lot of playtime and will probably be getting decent points through brute force.
effort seems to be rock solid lately. backho being back seems like a great 1 point pickup. free/zero and wjs will get a lot of ace matches, and either free or zero will get picked almost all the time. light for 5 pts as the ace for mbc seems good, and movie at 3 points is a solid pick.

and baby going 9-1 last round plus going far in both starleagues and establishing his presence as a dominant force somehow doesn't reflect his points?
Anytime - Ace's go to man. Although it doesn't mean much, he's still most likely to get the most playing time, and he's shown... above average results. Don't know how far that'll take me, but I'm hoping the sashin will be able to do his stuff this round and lead ACE to more than 1 win this round.
BabY - I hope people like floppity realize that baby is worth the hype. This kid is good.
Calm - I needed a Zerg, I could have gotten Action for much cheaper, but Calm is a more reliable source of wins imo. I haven't exactly bought into the Action hype yet.
Classic- I'm placing my faith on this kid this round.
ForGG - showed some pretty good results last round. Hoping that he'll continue to ride on this newfound surge.
Nada - not sure why i put him on my main team. nostalgic reasons i guess.
Woongjin - I was sooo tempted to put wemade again cause they did so freakin well last season. But I settled for Woongjin. IIRC, they had a huge streak early on last round before it kind of died away. I'm hoping for a similar showing.
Great - is not great. hopefully.
Hyun - not the best of the best
Violet - blah. all three of these i looked at the stats sheet and based it off of who doesn't play that much and losing streaks.
This is my first time playing so it might be rocky, but I think I get the idea. Having Best on the main and Bisu on the anti at the same time seems a little risky. I had Movie in Best's spot but that left me with 1 point free and there were no other one point upgrades I was dying to take. If anyone has a good one point upgrade suggestion...
I'm counting on Chintoss and Action.
Anyone going for a Flash on anti-team? I could see someone playing that this round.
Funny me too =/ I am trying to get effort in as well , but it's not working out too well.... Maybe if I trade midas/kwanro for someone then use them + effort, but it's very hard ~.~
Why? Well I was going to pick Effort instead of Baby but Baby gave me a lot of points in round 4 so I thought it was a good pick because he will earn as much this round. With BackHo i needed an one pointer so I opted for him because I have a feeling he will win a few games. Hyuk, like Baby, gave me a lot of points last round so I thought why not? Midas had a good performance last round and despite the fact that he didnt play much in May I think he will see a lot of play time and WMFox will win with and without him so more points :D. Snow and Soulkey will be good for their teams and will see a lot of play time (I hope!) and CJ well..My favourite team and it hurt me so much last round (had effort and iris in my anti so this time I decided to pick them and be happy when my team wins! :D
My anti has 2 potential backfires (like last round) Zero and Free. I dont like Free that much dont exactly know why and Zero didnt play a lot last round so I believe he will be in a slump next round. If not I'll trade him. Lomo..well..4points and I think he wont win that many games so a good anti pick in my opinion!
Reasoning: Action : Owning lately Backho : Hopefully he will be as good as before? Jaedong : is Jaedong Midas : Did pretty good last round Movie: Will get some playtime, but hopefully he makes good use of it. A little bit of a risk on this one. Soulkey : Pretty cheap, lots of playtime, and has been doing pretty good
Bisu: I have a feeling he is gonna screw me over, but lets see... Hogil : Second 'best' Zerg on hite, and has been getting lots of playtime, but I think he will choke like last round Killer : I love OZ, but I hope he does terrible :D
People need to read the bottom of the first post here DO NOT just post your team and maybe a 1-liner of "will this do well?" or "I'll see how this goes" if you want to do that, do it in the other thread, if you're posting your team here, but in some analysis of why you chose who you did...
Pretty Little Princesses
Main Team 1 BackHo Backho coming back is going to be one of the best deals at a 1-point buy, unless he decided to cut off his hands in his downtime, he'll be a big earner 6 Calm Solid play lately, I believe his tlpd stats are slanted poorly on his last 10 games due to being in Jaedong's way. For 6 points he's a solid mid-ranger who is likely to pay out decently 5 Hiya The one I'm most worried about whether he'll payout for his 5-point cost, but I'm an oz fan at heart, so I'll take the risk. I also had points to spare with the deals I've got on my other players 11 Jaedong LE JE DONG, nuff said 2 PerfectMan as an oz fan he's been a fairly consistant low-tier player, he gets play-time and can pull out some wins 1 Princess (captain) the lynchpin of the team, I called it from the moment I saw oz pick this guy up onto their A-team. Since then he went 6-0 in the MSL offline prelims, so I think this guy, despite his bad alias, is a very solid up-and-comer. 4 Hwaseung Oz with the majority of my team being on oz, this was a no-brainer
Anti Team 4 Best he hurt me last season more then I wanted, but he was also worth less then. this dragon is past his prime, and losing steam 5 Bisu the guy everyone loves to hate because of his slumping play recently, he's fallen far because he had a long way to fall from, but I think that trend will continue 5 Snow the extra 1 pt over my anti-team minimum I think is worth it here, as I believe snow's play last season to be a 1-off, and not sustainable.
Reasoning Jaedong: In R4 he led all players with the most points and as he prepares for MSL finals and R5 I expect that to continue. Expensive but worth it; I expect the DONG to will his team into playoffs by winning his matches and the teams ace matches.
Shuttle: Quietly Shuttle has put up an impressive R3 and R4 for STX and has really bolstered their protoss lineup. I believe shuttle will continue to play well as can play all three matchups consistently. I think he will benefit with the addition of Fortress into the map pool.
Killer: For Jaedong to get to ace he is going to need one of his teammates to step up and get that second win. For me, that person will be Killer. Many will argue that Backho brings more value for Oz at just 1 point, but I do not think he will be played much. Killer has a consistent ZvZ and ZvP, and while his ZvT is rather abysmal he can bring quality wins for Jaedong and gain bonus points for my team when the dong cleans up ace. For one point less than Hiya I think he will get Oz just as many wins.
Classic: Classic has been playing very impressively and with the departure of upmagic and the slump of really he and classic become the go-to goes for the ace match. A quality pick for 3 points.
Pure: Pure is FOX's only legitimate Protoss and I expect him to play a good number of matches. Like Shuttle, I can see FOX to send Pure out on Fortress to bring some wins for his team. For 2 points he is a safe choice IMO.
MVP: I only chose MVP over Backho because I believe he will be played significantly more. MVP does have the potential to play at a mediocre level so for 1 point he is my choice.
Hwaseung OZ: For 4 points this team is the most "bang for buck" deal and as I said before, Jaedong will deliver in R5 as this team makes a push to get into the playoffs.
Calm: This pick is certainly crazy but I question whether Calm will be able to play solid SC after his crushing defeat to JD. His ZvZ and ZvT have looked very questionable and those are the matchups he mainly plays. I do not expect Calm to get as many ace match opportunities has usual, splitting with Kal and possible Shuttle. If this pick disappoints me he will be traded.
Lomo: Good chance that when Lomo plays he will lose.
S2: SK has a lot of zergs that like to rotate in their lineups but I expect S2 to get significantly less playtime as hyuk has become SK's surprising new ace.
Suggestions would be helpful as this is my first time playing fantasy SC. Thank-you and GL to everyone.

Even though I barely won last round, I have to say that planning a team for this round is really difficult. I'm probably thinking longer for this round than the last one. There's just so many combinations I want to try out.
And damnit free T-shirt =( Hope I win this one too haha.

Seeing as how Hite are really thin on the ground right now, I don't think Hogil and Horang2 are good choices, I'm sure they'll get play time. I think Killer is a good 4 point choice for anti. I don't know how good Hyun is for 4 points either.
I don't think you're making a huge mistake cause none of those players are great, but it could go either way and I think there are better anti team choices.

ok ok I'm an optimist, I needed a 2 point oz player, he's not as horrible as his tlpd stats put him
MVP: I Only chose MVP over BackHo because I believe he will be played significantly more. MVP does have the potential to play at a mediocre level so for 1 Point he is my choice.
Well MVP might be mediocre, but out of his last twenty games, he's beaten BeSt, Stork, EffOrt, BaBy, JangBi, Kal and even Flash (though only once in a bo5). Also, he's the ranking terran on his team (although that just mean's he's the least-bad Woongjin Terran, cough splutter) so he ought to be getting at least a reasonable amount of games.
Unless he's going to lose some of his fingers in a freak eggwhisk accident, or KeSPA is going to catch him throwing games to raise his liquibet score, he's got to be a bargain pick this season.
MVP is a decent option at 1. It's hard to compare to BackHo since we have no idea what condition he's gonna be in, or how much OZ is planning to use him. Unfortunately, as much of a BackHo fan as I am, expecting him to do well at this point is a long shot.
Now you've gone and peer pressured me into swapping my team around. I think it's for the best though, as with backho being back, it is likely perfectman will see less games, and I had not seen that MVP was at 1 pt...
MVP may turn out to be a bargain, but if round 4 was any indication, he's either back to being terrible in the practice house or Woongjin just refuses to send him out for some reason. Even Piano was played more than him...
Btw does anybody else think it'd be interesting to try to get a final point total of 0?
Reasoning: BaBy: Did quite well last season and I believe it's gonna continue. 7 pts might be a bit but I think it's just enough. Classic: A steal. With his recent record I'm sure he's gonna play a lot of matches and probably win a decent part. EffOrt: Hopefully he's not overated and will continue giving good results. After OSL he must be in his best shape right now. Princess: Prelims results and now on A team make me think that for one point it can be a nice payback. Let's hope. Sea: He really dissapointed me last season but I have faith in him and believe he's gonna come back in strength >< Anyway for 4 points that's decent. Snow: Impressive last round, he really is rising imo. I'm putting my faith in him once again.
Bisu: He's not gonna play a lot I think... hopefully. Had him on anti last time but he was 7 points back then. I'm not sure. free: I'm not certain about him. Killer: He hasn't been going well at all and it's gonna be worse.
I'm really having doubts about my anti-teams, others seasons my anti team always gave me problems ><
Damn, he will be the successor to Killer then , not sure if I want him or not, also who are good anti picks? I have Great (at 5 points) then hogil(he will unfortunately see lots of games with HITE in their condition)... and the Lomo (who is good enough to win seeing oZ's line up he will also get many games)
Damn, maestro from SKT ALSO plowed through MST, but I think SKT has too many up and coming zergs now (soo, hyuk, s2) he might not get play time
On May 29 2010 05:18 slimshady wrote: Anti Team 4 Hogil 5 Horang2 4 Hyun
Guys, can you tell me if I'm making a huge mistake there? I make bad anti team 2 seasons in a row.
The biggest worry is Hyun. He's a pretty good player and MBC uses him fairly regularly for ace matches.
HoGiL and Horang2 are both primarily vs. P specialists. Horang2 will be on a Protoss-favored map 80% of the time, probably playing PvP and winning at least half of that. I'd figure Horang2 gets 4 or 5 wins this round. I don't like him on anti, but for 5 points it might be worth it, since hite probably won't win that many matches.
HoGiL's a trickier question. He's primarily a ZvP specialist, but with the scandal clearing out hite's bench he's now hite's #2. He's not very good, but he'll see a lot of games - I'd figure he gets 4-7 wins depending how many Protoss/bad players he faces.
So yes, that anti looks like a huge mistake... unfortunately I've been unable to come up with a better one.
I did pretty well last season because I did a full Terran team kkk. Only mistake I did was exchange Forgg for Hwasin since both are 3 points. Ah, worst decision. I just want to earn points and since SKT T1 is not doing well I thought I'll try support Terran race Thus able to pick Flash as captain.
Ah, it was stupid. I spend more time watching other teams and less time watching SKT T1. And when there are proleague matches such as SKT vs WeMadeFox I don't know who to watch how to support. One time I support Baby win next I support Hyuk win.
This will make my Proleague experience more exciting! And I believe. My feeling tell me. R5 SKT will rise up. SKT T1 Fighting!
The players I've chosen are regular lineup players from SKT T1. Some are pretty cheap price .
Bisu still cost more than Best.. Bisu might be key player if SKT T1 is going to rise up, maybe....Hyuk will carry the team instead?
i'm trying to think of a 3 pointer, so far I can only think of classic or hero. I'm leaning more towards classic because he'll be most likely playing more games and he went 5-0 compared to hero's 4-0. Only difference is that STX is performing better than eSTRO so it's hard to tell who will get more points. If i choose hero I have to hope he'll get more playtime given his current win streak and continue to do better but classic just seems like a good prospect argh
MVP: I Only chose MVP over BackHo because I believe he will be played significantly more. MVP does have the potential to play at a mediocre level so for 1 Point he is my choice.

Thats what I thought last season, but he was sent out 3 times won only once.
I really have no idea who to put on anti. I think Killer is a solid choice, but Bisu might make a reappearance (and isn't really doing bad at all). Hyun isn't that great, but he does get a fair amount of playtime at MBC.
So this is my first FPL and I'm wondering what difference is there from a captain and just a team member? Does the captain get extra points for something or does being captain not really mean anything?
1. The captain is the tie-breaker. If two teams finish with 130 points, but one had Kal as captain with 25 and the other had Perfectman as captain with 6, the first team would be ranked ahead. 2. On the other hand, the captain is the one player you can't trade.
Obviously, this leads to different possible uses for a captain: Take Flash/Jaedong/Leta/Kal as captain to win the tiebreakers, OR take a 1-2-pointer as captain b/c you probably won't be trading him anyway and you can then trade any player you want to OR take a 3-5-pointer as captain so if he does well you get tiebreak points but if he doesn't do well you haven't lost too much trade potential.

PICK BACKHO. you are overlooking the omnipotent for the weak.
I'm going to get raped by my antiteam. I went out.....and forgot to change it, and when I came back games already started. Goodbye to defending champ lol.
Yeah, fantasy really changes your emotions when you watch games since you want points, but you also want your favorite (non-fantasy) team and player to win. Even this round I've got nothing from T1 on my positive points team, so sad. Hyuk is way overpriced. I hope to trade for Bisu in week 2/3 though, if I pay attention.
If T1 kicks ass your FPL team is going to rack up so many points for team wins, since every time T1 wins not only will you get points for the T1 team, but each player will score another team-win point too. If only...

I don't think anyone has ever won twice. To abuse statistics by making some bad assumptions - that means you have zero chance of winning, while everyone else who hasn't won before still has a slim chance.

I wasn't expecting to win twice, but still it would be fun to compete. With Hyuk and Violet........I can only pray they start slumping again haha. We'll see how the season goes.
Hmm RandomItUp is probably somebody's spoof... and by probably I mean definitely. He's also guaranteed points for the rest of the week too, since CJ and Stars play and all his players are CJ and Stars.
Also Classic losing today and hyvaa going against Hydra instead of Action kind of messed me up. I was expecting like: Classic > Movie 3 Really < Snow 4 Action > Hydra 3 Hyvaa < EffORt 4 Action < EffOrt 1 + 4 = 5 since I have Classic, Snow, Action, and EffOrt for a good 19 right there.
Instead Classic loses and hyvaa beats Hydra instead so I only get 8-1 (since I have eSTRO). Blah go big or go home :<
Meh eSTRO vs Ace should get me points for Action and Classic though as well as team, so eh.

Yeah I think your anti is a little fail. I think Hogil/Flying or Hogil/Horang2 would be better than Violet/Hyuk. What would u have changed it too if you'd remembered?
Sheesh, 27 points to lead off the first day. Already 15% of the winning score last round. Still, early leaders don't necessarily do well - last season my team was really dragging along the bottom until week 4 or so, ended up top 11%. And many of the early leaders dropped out eventually.
I do wish the alternate account teams get a consistent ruling and enforcement. I'm sure many others, like I, have plenty of "what-if's" they would try if alternate teams were the norm.
Interesting - Sea is once again proven to be TL's favorite player - more people bought him on their main teams than any other player. Bisu is the most popular anti-team pick. Poor Bisu.
Actually, if there was one or two week's break between seasons I would have picked Bisu for main, even after greatly benefiting from having him on anti last season - but damn proleague is harsh. No breaks, no time to recover or reflect or re-adjust. Why bother splitting them into rounds anyways? Just a constant barrage of games to insert a constant barrage of ads. Wonder if such saturation will actually burn fans' interest out more quickly than a more sparse schedule?

trading occurs after all the matches that week have been played, you'll have a couple of days before the next week starts to trade away players. i think it says so in the rules somewhere...

Woo, startin out nicely. Only a few points from Free/MVP/Effort but I didn't all in CJ/Stars like a lot of people so I've got some room to grow. Here's hoping Great crushes SKT in ace or something.
Though basically my entire team relies on Lomo/Killer not pulling out anything against KT and just laying down against Stats/Hoejja and hopefully getting 3-0'd.

Kwanro should 5 pool every game, it is strong strategy for his style.

Nooo , don't fail me yet! I've changed anti team to
GREAT BOGUS VIOLET ahahahaha
I remember Bogus. last season after found out Hwasin is ripping off my FPL, I change to....Bogus! but bogus earn 0 points for me too ahahaha.
I hate it. ForGG appear Ace match 2 times regular on KT lineup!! Never mind, that is last season.
It's only 4 games so far people. Most of the "high" point teams right now won't get any points for another 3 days because all their players have already played.
I'm trying the "1 stud" on anti and 2 "losers" on anti. Kal on anti (glad he lost both games) and JaeHoon with Bogus.
I'm a little hesitant with Bogus though because of how young he is. I might trade him if STX starts to use him. I think he could be a pretty good TvZ sniper (I think he's like 14-7 or so already against zergs)
hmm am i not seeing something? kal appeared once in stx's lineup, lost that game so +1 and -1 = 0 then appearance in ace match and lost that game +2 and -1 = 1? so shouldnt kal get +1? edit : or am i just too early and they haven't updated it yet

But then again, s2 kind of screwed me, but it's only 1 win from the anti-team out of the two other players (Bisu, Great), so I think I'm good. Now for Stats to serve up a good game...
Question brought up in the Bisu thread - since he wasn't at the arena (and thus not on the lineup), why is he still awarded the point for being on the lineup and his team winning?
Don't care really either way (it's a whopping one point) but am just curious. =)
Do you think choosing Leta and Hiya for anti is a bad choice?
I just have a feeling they won't perform well...
Leta is Hite's Ace. They play him in the lineup each week. He's kinda like Really but better. So imagine Really. Who is usually sent for Ace/Everyweek normal lineup, with a winrate of 60% and doesnt die in TvZ
Do you think choosing Leta and Hiya for anti is a bad choice?

Leta alone will rape your anti-team. Right now, he's pretty much the ace, especially after all the fallout from the betting scandal. Plus, he usually puts up pretty good results in proleague.

I have Kal on my anti-team, he's 0-2 so far, but has 2 lineup + 1 ace appearance. So he gets (-2) + (+3) for a net of +1? And being on my anti, giving me -1.

Why oh why did I anti-team hiya? I am murdered already. I have Jaedong and Hiya doing poorly hurts Jaedong and Hiya doing well helps Jaedong. What an awful hedge I did. Hopefully I can manage to do a mediocre trade for him.
Well, with one game played I don't have many points... but am reasonably happy. Five of my six players got games, although only one (Jaedong) won his. Fortunately my anti team only picked up one game and one point.

if they do play Iris, Inc. Kwanroll. You heard it from me first. I'm hoping stars beat cj, not just for the sake of my fpl team, but so Stars can keep their playoff spot :S. Stars 3-1 MVP will get rolled by snow's PvT, but ZerO free kwanro will clean up the rest of cj ^^

I'm doing really well except for HiyA anti. My hope is that Shine has another good day or two and I can trade Hiya for Shine.
Or I might just hang on to him. I mean, how many times will they not ace Jaedong when Flash isn't on the other side of the table. I'm thinking that match was a special situation.
Goddamnit. I swear to god my anti team is a filler and I was going to put a combination of Killer, Lomo, and Great somehow. Bisu, great, and Mind.
Also to the poster above: yes, I'd trade Stats for Classic. Stats might not even see play time, even against Ace, and you aren't penalized for players losing matches.
Also I need EffOrt, Snow, and Movie to play tonight for CJ vs SKT. EffOrt to kill BeSt, Snow to kill fantasy, and Movie to beat Hyuk. Either way, since I don't have SKT or CJ as my team and I don't want their trade values to skyrocket... it'd be best if it went to Ace and one of EffOrt or Snow played and won.
I'm feeling EffOrt set 2, since he likes Judgment Day, and Snow for set 4 on Fighting Spirit if it gets there...
Snow also likes PR, and it'd probably be against fantasy...
I'm feeling this tonight. My three CJ players should win, and eSTRO in its current form should take down KHAN in its current form.
I would like CJ to win yes but I want SKT to win the Hyuk game 3-1 CJ!
I need some advice. Should I trade Midas if he doesnt play this week also? I picked him beacuse I thought he was going to see a lot of play time and get ate least 50% wins but im afraid the spark from last round is gone...What should I do? Who should I trade him for?

You have all CJ players, you shouldn't want SKT to win ... Also, everyone is disregarding Midas already, we're not sure what will happen but it will depend on his next game. You can't really get much better for his point value so you can take the gamble and stick with him, or trade.
I'm still waiting for the unveiling of Princess (oZ) to come with the upsets.
Also, I have estro players (and my team) so I'm hoping they walk KHAN... and I'm frightful of Bisu getting back into any shape, that's the only reason I won't put him on my anti-team... maybe I'll go with Stork over Killer...
great just 5 points? He should have got 6 points(+1 for lineup, +2 for one win, +2 for ace selection, +1 for team win). Since he is on my anti, it doesn't really matter...but whatever.

The +1 lineup only applies to normal matches, not ace matches.

Thanks, then I misread/misunderstood this. I thought it has nothing to do with the +2 points you get in the way that you get the +1 anyway. The order of the scoring wasn't really helpful either :/

I didnt. I wanted CJ to win just not 3-0 but 3-1 so that Hyuk could win a game and give me points. But oh well SKT crushed the party
About Midas yeah Im going to hold on to hum this week to see what happens!
Things not to do. Build a crappy anti team and watch NBA before changing it and leaving Hyuk and Violet who are dangerous on it. Even Guemchi is dangerous.
Also, don't go out for bubble tea late at night when you didn't do any trading on your team. GG this FPL. See you all next season.
This is such a weird season. I don't really feel anyone is safe. If you are within 20-25 points of the leader, don't sell yourself short just yet. Far too many games left to go!
Fuck yeah! Finally out of the negative! If horang2 had won the ace though, I would have been put even deeper, that or if Calm had continued his losing streak.
Hey guys, I'm new to fantasy proleague, and it's a lot of fun! What I have been missing on is the trading dates. Every time I log in on TL trading is closed. Since I'd like not to miss the next one out, can anyone tell me the exact day I'll be able to perform trades? Thanks!

I've never really understood how fantasy works. Can someone explain to me how an Anti team works? Why wouldn't you simply put players that NEVER play, such as Rock, Dr. K, Justin, IdrA, etc.? Is there a minimum point requirement from anti?
I never seem to make it in time to do this, I wish therewas more advertisement of it, I've always wanted to participate, and I have literally missed every single fantasy league since I joined TL except one...

Yeah, your anti-team must add up to at least 13 points. edit: late :p

It is advertised, keep an eye out for the green bar.
I ain't doing horribly but I ain't moving very far either lol I'm like slowly climbing the ladder with 100kg weights on each limb >< stop losing fpl team!
oh wow somehow i always manage to pick one of the worst proteams out of the 12, maybe its because i never invest more than 4 points into the team ;< still theres always some good and some bad picks around that value and i just cant get it right.
5 of the current top 15 teams have pure-T1 main teams/T1 team pick. Best/Hyuk/S2 scoring 9 points each. Fantasy with 10. T1 scoring 18!! And I bet there's even more 3-0's in store.
Will this be like that one season where the pure-T1 team came in 2nd place? It's still only week 2 though, but craaaazy times!
My own team is sucking (and much moreso than the other posters here who are griping about their teams when they merely fall below 100th place or something)...but to be honest I still think the players on it are pretty good (for their cost), except maybe Midas. They've just run into difficult opponents and sometimes haven't been sent out at all, although I should be accounting for the latter part.
Trading Hyun for horang 2 is looking better by the minute, thing is, Great has two games this week, and the other possible trades seems way too scary to make.
Edit: Well Violet seems like a good anti pick, actually.
But the fact that Wemade prefers playing Shine over Roro is disheartening. I was expecting Roro to be that under the radar 6 point player who is owned by only > 100 players, so that when he does well, I get the points while also having the overall team trend upwards.

Guess I'll have to luck out massively on trading.
With Luxury gone, the new kicker is RorO Chaos Theory.
RorO used to just be the most terrible anti pick that everyone did. But now he actually hit 6 points cost, chaos theory takes effect!
Strongly considering swapping HiyA out of my anti for Kal, who's been playing sooooooooooooooo badly lately, but idk if I want to take that risk. Good Kal plays out of his mind but I don't know how long he'll continue to slump.
Also very disappointed Shine has been seeing more playtime than Roro, given the latter's domination last round (and subsequent spot on my team!).

Trading involving the high-priced players on anti seems so risky, because it's something that's very difficult to undo.

I took Roro over Shine as well, but despite Roro scoring more points last round his win% was a bit worse. And we never know what goes on in the house ranking games.

I had Roro in my team the first week but then I actually traded him for Shine who I think is the overall stronger player.
Now if only Classic and my so far terrible captain pick sKyHigh could get some playtime =(
Yeah, I'm really not sure what to do with Roro at this point. He's still tradeable for people like Sea, Jangbi, Violet (though I already have Stats...), and Hyun. Only problem is I can find valid reasons to not trade for each of them, and i know if I do Roro will get played in every match from here on out and win every game, so...
Hyun is 8-3 in the last two rounds and is probably the only appealing option for me on that list.
Considering Hyun is the only zerg currently on mbc, i would think they will keep fielding him. Seems like trading him for roro on anti is better, as Shine seems to be fielded much more this season that Roro.
Not sure what to do with trading, I want Snow in but don't know whether to kick Horang2 (who I basically picked because at least with Sparkyz he'll play and I like cheese) or Light, who's been average after the winners' league ended
I don't know wether to trade Stats for Snow. Stats will probably get sent out every match, but so are the chances for snow. Thing is, I already have Effort and Iris, who by they way hasnt done anything, on the main.
Also traded Great out for Violet for anti. I hope this doesnt bite me in the ass.
Hey, it's possible the silent majority, including those that don't vote in the poll or read this thread prefer their own team.
Seeing the standings is probably only appealing if you're within striking distance of the top, like those clowns (sigh). I doubt everyone in say, rank 300+ are really concerned that the fpl teams so far ahead of them have shuffled in position and are instead thinking about where their own team stands relative to the crowd.
I know every time I click on Fantasy I immediately click on "My Team" (since I am one of those nowhere near the top...)
Do you think Bisu will be fielded out next week? Or . . . Maybe next next week?
I wonder, trade him or keep him. I cannot let him stay in my team eat free food. But somehow I missed him play for team SKT T1 . . Ah, I cannot let feeling to keep him. Will spoil my FPL.
Is there any clue when his special training be over and come out play for proleague? Or it is top secret.

Even though I made 0 points from my main team players and actually lost 3 post when Flying won I still feel like a genius. Trading Snow and Effort for Stork and Zero was the best trade I've made in 3 seasons. Stork now has a game coming up vs ACE.
Effort losing and Snow not playing makes me a very happy fpl'er
there is no way you can be in a good position all season especially in this one.. I choose wrong captain wrong team and now i have left only hite sparkz as an elligible team .. thats it for me..

Just wait for Hite to win a game and another decent team to slump. Then trade up. Also, look at the upcoming matchs for the week so you can trade a team or player that has only 1 match for one that has two. And make sure to check how many remaining games they have in the stats tab on fantasy. Don't give up hope, anything can happen in FPL
7th place? Thank you Samsung Funny how this is probably my best season of FPL when I just stopped trying and just went for the teams I like (70% being Khan)

Hehe. I tried that in my first season (mainly just with the team though, Khan). And then in Winners League I tried the same with an almost all-Stars team. Worked great until the Coachs decided to start sending Guemchi, Piano, Crazy-hydra and MVP out every game. So so weird. Unless Kwanro, Zero, free are just incredibly streaky in in-house tourney's and practice
I just realized I'm only showing trade tax at -1 even though I've made two trades. Any ideas? (Not that I'm complaining about an extra point, mind you... )
Oh well, I guess I had a good first week, sadly effort is slumping and is my captain. I thought I made good player choices except... STX losing record is hurting compared to the ~20points SKT has handed out. I'll just stick with STX even though I get the feeling I should trade but oh well I've already dug myself in deep no way to recover might as well keep digging maybe STX will start winning and my players win games..
AT LEAST I didn't put Great on my Anti-Team , I was very close to doing that.
I didn't expect this to happen at all. I'm very pleased with it and it probably doesn't seem like something to get excited about. But I'm excited, I've never been higher ranked than I am now.
That's right, I've gone for a pure WeMade Fox team. It might seem like a risk, but one that I'm willing to take for two reasons. The first is that they are looking in good form. The second is for the kicks.
I've been lucky with really not winning more games and I think I might trade him soon. He's bound to start winning some time soon.
If I hand't traded at all I would still be top 20. Kinda unfortunate, but I really thought those trades through, so sadly I cannot blame it on anything. #121 still not too shabby. Still four weeks to go.
Classic not getting any playtime + losing wasn't too good (not really sure why I traded for him since I didn't pick him originally for exactly that reason, he didn't play too much in PL = sucks inhouse?).
Then great had to recover from his 10 loss streak or whatever and start winning 2 games per match , guess it was a bit predictable he'd get "some" playtimes seeing as the whole of khan is in a slump though AND I was sooooooo close to changing him out for violet before his streak, now it's ~Effort+ if you want him off your anti.
I am beyond fucked right now. Funny thing, is when I finally learned my lesson this round, Roro actually is an alright anti-pick so far, though appareantly, Really is even better.

great is playing 1 time only this week,I am going to risk the 4 points by not trading him. Leta against ACE in 1 of the games so chances of him destroying you[if u get him] is very high
eSTRO really f'd me up this round. By sucking and also by not playing Classic despite all their other players sucking.
Jaedong playing 0 ace matches so far is also . Stats getting matched against Jaedong and Baby is also .
How much I wish I had Really on my anti instead of Hiya who I can't get rid of for anyone reasonable because he owned week 1. Although my main has killed me way more than my anti.
I had pulled off the trade of the century. The deal to end all deals. I had looked into the mind and soul of the SKT coach and I understood him. Reaching a higher level of consciousness, I could see exactly how he pulled off the triple 3-0's, and as I delved deeper into his mind, I knew - Bisu was going to play and win against ACE.
I would make the exchange that would blindside all others. Bisu, from anti-team to main in two explosive trades. No one else would have the depth of insight or the courage to pull off such a plan. I would leapfrog all unbelievers when he scored his 4 points, hurting my opponents with him on anti while scoring points for me on main, and leapfrog forwards in the FPL standings. Everything was in place, and everything would go according to the plan...
except Bisu lost.
So Bisu anti owners haven't been punished and I've been left holding an empty bag. Actually, it's not even an empty bag, but a negative one - a bag connected to another dimension that vacuums points away from my team and sends them into oblivion. Since the two other minor by-products of my genius swap went from wankers to winners last week. Oh Stats, ForGG, how could you.
If only Bisu had won, it would have been a masterstroke. Instead it was a hey-master-let's-have-a-stroke as I realize I've dropped another couple hundred spots in the rankings. Just another day of sucking at FPL.

I almost put Hyun on anti. But then, I put Great instead. X_X
And week 4 started not really good, seriously what's with never making Sea play, MBC ??? And I'm not even mentioning Soulkey who I traded for Action, cause he's in a team with ZerO and Kwanro, but is STILL being sent (and winning) nearly each and every time :'(
Well trading has definitely become a hundred times harder without lineup information. Not only do you have to guess if a player is going to do well or not, but which players both sides' coaches will send. There seem to no longer be any FPL owners who can really exploit trading to gain a lot of points, compared to 2 or more seasons ago.
Yeah, you can't play until next round. I'm guessing there'll be a different format FPL for the playoffs, then normal FPL will resume with the '10-11 Proleague season.
That's assuming of course the gretech licensing goes through, which I'm personally 99.9% sure it will.
+11 points today : ). Hope fpl is updated soon. Points from last night have gone in but not updated totals. I think I might be 1st after today. Should still be top 5 at end of week whatever happens
It'll update eventually. All the teams are the same at the moment, not just yours. Your totals and today's points will go through at some stage. Don't worry. Edit Also, it lists teams by alphabetical order, not points won.
One thing that always bugged me... Why the hell are there 'line-up appearance' points?
Wouldn't it be better to not give points for lineup appearance at all and just +1 for ace match? Also, 0 points for loss instead of -1. Result would be the same point-wise but there would be much less counting involved...

When lineups were posted ahead of time it meant you got points for a player who was slated for game 4 even if it ended 0-3. 3-0. Only now would it be the same to implement the changes you suggest.

I don't think they were sure exactly when matchups would be released. There was a chance that they would just reveal all 4 players at the start of the match making the old(current) system useful. Once they realised we weren't going to know who's playing until they actually get sent out, they just couldn't be bothered changing the scoring scheme mid season.
On that note, the players lineups are already predetermined right? I hear a lot of people asking for certain players to be sent out, but as I understood the new rules, the coaches submit their lineups to the KeSPA officials before the first match no?
Anyone who is actually certain I'd love some more information.

No, not as far as I know. The teams probably decide amongst themselves beforehand who goes on what map, and they might make switches based on who remains on the other team, but they don't send in lineups before the first match.
great did a great job and scrwed me,with 23 points as a ANTI i can only trade him for either Fantasy and Baby.Well I suck at FPL for years and Great is the nly anti this season screwed me T_T.
Horang2 looked like a good antiteam decision on paper, especially if you consider his performance from previous seasons, but that's only if you don't take into account the fact that Hite Sparkyz has been destroyed. After you accept that fact, it ends up being clear that Horang2 is the #2 player on their team.
Well no Baby, no Action and no Stork games so far this week. Pretty unlucky. But Khan going 3-0 was nice. However as SKT1 also went 3-0 it won't change the top spots in fpl. Here's hoping for a top 10 finish

Up to #2. Sorta wish I traded MVP for Modesty like I had planned. Would have been a nice win for me. Might be time to trade SKT with those last 4 teams... KT,STX,OZ, and MBC
Looks like STX is finally using Bogus. I might need to trade him out for some loser who doesn't play and take the 1 pt hit as a preventive move.
I feel pretty amused that my following trade has cost me 1st place - Flying (2 games) for GoRush (1 game).
But flying still might play later this week, so might only cost me 1-2 points depending on if estro can pull a win (with flying winning).
Still ironic though : ). Gorush wins nothing but zvz and then owns Hiya. Lady luck... still she smiled at me with yellow even if everyone else didn't play or played each other (Stats > Zero -_-).
Being bored I went and did this manually so some results might be off. Just thought I'd share my nerdiness with those of you who are curious about where you stand in the top rankings now
Edit: whoops got a lot of numbers off by one. Fixed.

i hope we can't.
It will be impossible. There value drops to 0. and you can't trade your anti-team to 0.
Also, I was hoping for my first top 10. I've been close twice before going into the final weeks of the round only to drop to 17th and 21st. I'm in 16th now, was 2nd. I better get top 10 for my sanity!
Think I'm screwed now, was hoping that wins for Free/Snow would move me up from 5th but a few people had Zero just behind so I didn't, need Khan to win and Fantasy (or s2)/Light to win ace matches.
After ending first week ranked like 2200, I'm all right with my rank now lol, but hey if mbc and leta pull a miracle out their ass, that would be sweet too ^_^
Whoops, even with my awesome -60 anti (and Backho captain. I regret nothing!) I managed to make top 500 without trading or paying attention to anything at all. Guess that'll teach me to give up so early :<

As much as I want you to do well - please don't do it MBC. I'm so close to winning and holding first. I need KT to win/lose 3-2/2-3. And I need Flash to win no more than 1 game and same for Light and Sea. Also Killer CANNOT win. And Stats winning either a match or ace-match would be great. If all this happens or even better things, I should hold first and become the champion for the round .
Otherwise I'm very happy with a likely top 10 finish. I always try hard with fantasy, usually spending between 2-4 hours putting together my teams and anti-teams. So I really hope I get rewarded tonight.
