Q: How do you feel about contributing to your team’s victory?
A: The team began its winning streak and I’m glad that I was able to make it continue.
Q: You had a 6-game losing streak in ZvT, so were you pressured when you were facing
PianO?
A: Although I was in a losing streak, I nevertheless practiced hard for it so I didn’t feel pressured or anything. I used to make a lot of little mistakes in ZvT, but I still had confidence.
Q: You defeated proxy Barracks well with your early Pool
A: Terrans don’t go standard on this map so I tried something different, but Piano’s build was the most complicated one for me. I couldn’t do any damage to the Terran due to his 8-rax. I was expecting him to block the entrance with a Barracks and a Factory.
Q: Your Hydralisk movements were good
A: I thought of ending it with Hydralisks. When I saw that Piano made Wraiths after Vultures, I thought he was going for fast Science Vessels and I ended up skipping Mutalisks for Hydralisks. I think I was really lucky on that.
Q: How do you feel about people calling you “Little Jaedong”?
A: Whenever I hear that, I think that nickname is overrating me. I don’t pay attention to it that much. I don’t think I’ll mind hearing it after playing an extremely good game. However, it really helps me a lot thatJaedong is next to me in my team. He is the best Zerg player so even if I just watch him and copy what he does, I feel myself improve so it’s really good. Also, Jaedong is doing well constantly so I want to become a player like him.
Q: Your goal for R4?
A: It is to make my win rate 50%. Whenever I get a chance to play, I will prepare for it thinking that my life is on the line and I will try my best.
Q: Anything else?
A: The team is on a winning streak and we can continue as long as we keep this momentum, so I hope the fans cheer a lot for us. I’ll try my best as well so I hope everyone continues to watch me.

▲ 우리 팀이 연승을 시작했는데 내 승리로 팀이 연승을 이어갈 수 있게 돼서 기쁘다.
- 테란전 6연패였는데 임진묵을 상대하면서 부담은 없었나
▲ 테란전 연패를 하고 있긴 한데 준비할 때는 테란전도 열심히 준비했기 때문에 위축되거나 하지는 않았다. 그 동안 테란전을 하면서 사소한 실수를 많이 하는 편이었는데 자신감은 있었다.
- 전진배럭을 선스포닝으로 잘 대처했는데
▲ 이 맵에서 테란들이 정석 플레이를 잘 하지 않기 때문에 노림수를 해봤는데 그래도 진묵이형이 한 빌드가 나에게는 가장 까다로운 빌드였다. 테란이 8배럭을 해서 초반 피해를 줄 수가 없었기 때문이다. 원래 배럭과 팩토리로 입구를 막는 빌드를 예상했었다.
- 히드라리스크의 움직임이 좋았다
▲ 히드라리스크로 끝내려고 생각했다. 진묵이형이 벌쳐 이후에 레이스를 뽑은 것을 보고 사이언스 베슬이 빠를 것을 예상하고 뮤탈리스크가 아닌 히드라를 택했는데 진짜 운이 많이 따랐던 것 같다.
- 리틀 이제동이라는 소리를 들으면 어떤지
▲ 그런 소리를 들으면 너무 높이 평가 받는 것은 아닌가 생각한다. 많이 신경 쓰는 편은 아니다. 내가 정말 잘했을 때 그런 소리를 들으면 기분이 나쁘지는 않을 것 같다. 그런데 팀에 이제동이라는 선수가 옆에 있어서 정말 도움이 된다. 저그 중에 가장 잘하기 때문에 보고 따라만 해도 실력이 느는 것을 느끼기 때문에 굉장히 좋은 것 같다. 또 제동이형이 꾸준히 잘하고 있기 때문에 나도 저런 선수가 되고 싶다는 생각을 많이 한다.
- 4라운드 목표가 있다면
▲ 목표는 승률 50%를 만드는 것이다. 출전 기회를 잡는다면 정말 한 경기마다 목숨을 걸고 준비하면 이길 수 있다는 생각으로 최선을 다하겠다.
- 하고 싶은 말이 있다면
▲ 팀이 연승을 하고 있는데 분위기를 타면 계속 이길 수 있기 때문에 팬들이 많이 응원해 주셨으면 좋겠고 나도 항상 열심히 할 테니까 많이 지켜봐 주셨으면 좋겠다.

Thoughts on bringing the team victory with two wins?
-When were up 2-0, I had no idea we would get to the ace match. It was Hiya playing game 3 to, I definitely thought he could’ve brought a clean finish, but suddenly the atmosphere changed, so I started thinking about a build, and started adjusting myself, so I could win in the end.
You had completely opposite openings in games 1 and 5, but the winner remained Jaedong, how does that work out?
-I’m not sure. I didn’t prepare that much, but simply played according to the most comfortable style in the game, so I was able to fully exhibit my potential just like in practice. I’ve been viewing this as an emphasis recently, and I’ve been striving to make no mistakes in televised games. Usually, during practice, if the opening puts me behind, it would put pressure on me and I would feel bad, and it’d be hard to stage a comeback. It’s important to be able to overcome this in live games.
You’re undefeated in May, what’s your secret?
-No secrets. It’s good that I won game 1 and the ace today, and increased my wins by 2. It’s very interesting.
You seem to have broken your curse here.
-It’s still only 6-4, and I’m only slightly ahead [laugh] I think it’ll become better with more games.
Flash also got 2 wins today, and now has 50 wins this seasn.
-There aren’t many games left, so if there are only 10 games or so of difference, Flash can be alone at tp. I think I need to start catching up [laugh] I need to keep winning too.
You beat Zero today, can this be considered a declaration of war against Calm?
-I’ve said this before for ZvZ, no matter what the opponent opens with, I still think “I’m the winner,” so I don’t think I will lose. Even though the opponent is strong this MSL semifinal, my weapon is, I am more confident than anyone else in ZvZ. But that doesn’t mean I will let my guard down.
The team is on a streak, is this what you were hoping for?
-We’re still not at our desired rank yet, but the three straight wins is helping us move from the middle rankings into the top rankings. We need to continue performing well in the rest of R4, which will help us relax a bit in the final round.
Last words?
-Nothing in particular. But I didn’t thank my parents in the interview on Parent’s Day, so I’m sorry. I’ll take this chance to tell them that I love them. I called them, but before I did, my good friend already called my parents. I want to thank him.
