Goodnight Sweet Prince...
Translated directly from Fomos MuMyung, who has worked with SKT since 2009 February, revealed that he hasn't been with the SKT Coaching Staff since February (2010 obviously). Coach Park Young Woon (not to be confused with Kingdom) said "MuMyung had to leave the SKT coaching staff for personal issues" Head Coach Park also said "MuMyung helped our team take home the Proleague Trophy. However ever since then the slumping of our Zerg line also gave MuMyung alot of stress along with other personal issues. After that MuMyung felt it was best if he left the coaching staff all together." Head Coach Park is now looking for a new coach to take MuMyung's place for his players
I just find it amazing that the guy hasn't been with the team for over a month and fomos writes an article about this just 4 hours ago.

The old schoolers are disappearing left and right. =(
Mumyung sucked though. The guy was just terrible. No wonder SKT zergs failed left and right. Having Mumyung as your coach wouldn't help you win.
=D

and he used to be so good (sort of like California)
Sort of sad to see him go

He has 2 MSL titles. That counts for something, doesnt it? I know Rock is bashed for being like him, but at least this guy has titles.

hire sir@soni if he's alive

They should hire Jaedong as a part-time coach.

Maybe now their Zerg lineup won't be so bad

SKT1's going through rough times right now. T.T

Wait, Mumyung was amazing back in the day. Not so much later on. But I remember him beating Hery twice to give ACE a win against KTF ^^ (well, okay, Hery wasn't the best player ever either).
When he joined SKT as a coach, shortly after the SKT zerg lineup was becoming less fail, with Hyuk un-hyuking himself for brief periods of time. Or that may have been just TheZerg's influence on the Zerg lineup back then (where is that guy nowadays anyway?) when SKT stole him from MBC.
I wonder if any coach can change the image of SKT Zerg...

good, hopefully they get a good zerg coach this time

Didn't SKT1 fire everyone last time when the team started to go downhill?

We just found the reason SKT has been doing horribly now.

It's unfair to mumyung to blame s2 and hyuk... S2 AND HYUK!!! performing like crap. Back in the day mumyung was great. I don't think you can argue against him being great in his era. We know players from back then are a joke now, even HOT's games in the heritage were so so bad. However to show this kinda disrespect to a man who not only helped as a player, but also came back to help coach and improve his team is just garbage Especially from visitors of a pro-gaming website.
He stuck with his team and tried to improve their zerg line. He even seemed to be doing a lot better with them at one point... but what are you gonna do when your retarded players can't even stop a zealot rush. That's not the coaches fault.
FFFFUUU Some of you guys make me angry.

oh no. mummy's gone ? who will ressurect the dead SKT zerg line?

Oversky could make a great coach. Boxer knows him well enough from the army time. He somehow managed to maintain a respectable winning percentage in the first generation ACE team despite everybody else failing left and right.
Gorush is also a possible candidate. So is Yellow.
It all depends on how big SKT's wallet is.

SKT Zergs actually started doing well when MuMyung joined. How else do you think Hyuk beat Jaedong and made dents into the Starleagues? MuMyungs coaching. Why do you think fantasy is so good? Oov's coaching. Why do you think Bisu and Best aren't doing so hot lately? Kingdom left and Doctor K isn't as good a coach.

Oversky's retired and he would have been made a coach already if he could. Gorush and Yellow still have a good amount of air force time left. No way in hell Yellow would coach at T1, hes a KTF player originally and was for a long time and he wouldn't coach for their arch rivals.

Hence why I said it depends on how big SKT's wallet is. For the right salary, even Yellow will coach SKT.
As for Oversky, he retired, yes. But face it, the demand for a Zerg coach from a high budget team probably wasn't available at the time of his retirement. If you read Oversky's retirement interview as I did, you would realize that Oversky isn't very sure about the direction of his future. His intention was to take a break first and then return to school. Boxer should be friendly with Oversky as they were teammates back on ACE. With the right salary and incentives, I don't see why Oversky wouldn't want to coach SKT.

The KPGA tours are regarded as MSLs. The monthly tournaments that preceded them are definitely not afforded that level of respect.

They should get Siva or someone

nooo
this might just add to the numerous reason why the best team in the league is losing so much >.>

Maybe if they actually bid on Jaedong last summer when they had the chance...
Seriously, Hyuk, s2, and SoO fucking suck because theyyy fucking suck.
Scapegoat MuMyung

I forget what Oversky did after leaving Ace but he should be a playing coach for SKT, he was better than SKT's zerg line when he got out of Ace.
|
i think its to early for gorush to be coach
|
to be fair, the SKT zergs did accomplish something while MuMyung. It's not like he was completely useless

i wish well for MuMyung in his future endeavors.
I hope SKT finds a zerg coach soon =( otherwise the SKT zergs will become even worse (if thats possible o_0)

Mumyung leaves SKT and suddenly SKT Zergs start delivering. Coincidence, or late vindication of the Mumyung-haters?
Does anyone know if SKT picked up an old Zerg for their coaching staff, or has oov given up on fantasy and started focusing on the Zergs?

Ah no, I hadn't read the last one, from the SKT vs eSTRO match --
The Zerg line-up, with Hyuk, is on the rise. -Recently, Assistant Coach Cha Ji Hyun took over the Zerg lineup, and we now have a 5-1 record. He helped the Zergs improve a lot, and he would often talk with us. He wasn’t a progamer, but he’s very good, and he has a deep understanding of Starcraft, and he’s very good at helping players adjust psychologically to games.

Oversky is a consistent Panel in Kingdom's Manner Pylon show He said he wanted to be a caster if he could rather than a Coach (old episode from 뒷담화) And no man, Yellow will not go to SKT. The same reason why iloveoov and Stork didn't go to KTF
Didn't Oov try to go to KTF, but was forced to terminate the contract due to violation of his contract with SKT? And that scandal caused Kespa to create "Free Agency".
Oh, and SKT Zergs are a power house now after MuMyung left. Coincidence? I think not.

I guess the special training Bisu is recieving, after all, is about him switching to zerg.

Mumyung sucked though. The guy was just terrible. No wonder SKT zergs failed left and right. Having Mumyung as your coach wouldn't help you win.
=D Fuck. You youngsters have no respect for old schoolers. Next thing I'll hear "Boxer is trash." Nah, I'll always hold Mumyung as a second tier player, comparable to someone like Junwi or a Jju. Kinda like someone who everyone knows about, is there, plays a lot, but doesn't really get anywhere or do much. No disrepest at all, I just didn't think he was all that great.

he's my favourite player because he makes terran look good. also when he wins its a huge surprise and i like surprises like that. lol

Doctor.K methinks

Mumyung was an old school player and peaked earlier and then plateaued and never quite got up to the top level ever again. Sure, he was the Dual Tournament/Challenge League bonjwa, but OSL failure. Personally, never really liked the guy and I think its just funny how everybody's mentioning the rise of SKT Zergs since MuMyung left.

Although I'm not a fan of Doctor.K I'm sure they wouldn't have hired him to be the Protoss Couch if they weren't confident in his abilities to couch. That being the key here, maybe he wasn't the best player, but that doesn't mean he didn't have the strategical prowess and great game analyzing ability. Maybe he just wasn't fast enough, didn't have the drive to practice hours on end, etc.

It's coach, not couch. I had to point it out because it was kinda hard to take your post seriously due to that typo lol.
Being a progamer or not doesn't matter much. All it matters is the result. We can clearly see the impact that Boxer/Oov had on Fantasy and the new Zerg coach on the SKT Zerg lineup. We can also see the impact that Head Coach Park made on SKT as Park magically turned SKT from a bottom rank team to grand champion.
And we can also clearly see that Bisu/Best suffered significant performance loss since the absence of Kingdom. Whatever the case, in all likelihood, Doctor.K isn't as good a coach as Kingdom.
