WARNING: i brought the camera charger so that i would not be limited in how much i taped. before you get excited thinking i was smart for this, please realize that now i present you with a 1.5 hour video.
Youtubes are up! All videos are as video responses to the video before so it's easy to navigate all of them.
Haha so awesome, ret suited up! Also I googled rets opponent for the first round back when the brackets were released but since I'm not a huge fan of kpop I didnt make any connection
I cannot thank you enough for all these videos you've been doing artosis, they are amazing. Major props to ret for going to korea and putting himself out there, he got sooo close!
If anyone hears anything about footage of that reality show going up I would love to see it :D
edit: hahahahaha "not the tightest pants I've seen today" and then a guy walks past "oh wait they are quite incredibly tight, he should've spent more time practising rather than putting those pants on" i've been laughing throughout the entire video, thanks so much artosis!
OK, I'm not quite finished, but damn this is good. Thanks for getting it up so promptly.
I just have to say, Ret is a fucking beast in ZvZ. He just crushed Koreans who were trying hard and practicing in the matchup. If he can't beat Castro with one hand tied behind his back I'll eat my shoe (how's that for stacking idioms like mutas).
roflrofl, I really hope someone gets that special up on youtube or streams it or something. Ah the pride of a Korean when he gets crushed by a white dude, you can imagine the Korean boards rofling hard when they see that.
For those wondering, hyungjun is an insanely famous korean popstar, very good dancer, similar to Rain who was recently in Ninja assassin (which was an awesome movie that everyone should watch.) I also believe he was in a commercial during the MSL final, so if he looks familiar to anyone (as he did to me before i realized who he was) it's not because all koreans look alike, it's because you have actually seen him before.
Also, this is sorta unrelated, but i've heard from my korean friends that he is being tutored by jaedong, so don't take him lightly
Edit: 21:45 - "tightest pants i've seen today" rofl
Ok, I've finished. I know how Ret felt afterward, having seen the other thread, but I would still have liked some closure after watching an hour and a half. It didn't feel right ending just after gg.
Regardless. So confident for Ret in TSL after seeing that. The only ZvZs he lost were very very close, and he won 7 back to back prior to that.
Just finished it aswell. Too bad about the last series, indeed felt like you had it. Must feel great to have proven to everyone (including yourself?) that you zvz really is progamer level now. What a great end on the Korea episode. Wish you the best of luck back in the Netherlands, though I had wished you were there to win courage next month! ^^

Couple seconds later: "Oh, look at that... that's quite... ridiculously tight pants. Got his keyboard in hand. 'maybe should've spent less time putting them on... and more time practicing?'' LLLooooooooolllll
Just finished it.. Sucks man.. He was playing hot in those first 3 games, smoking the opponents.
Seems like he got a little bit nerved the last games though, I don't know why. Nothing substantial, but it seemed like the further he progressed, he was a little less sure that he could keep smashing them. Granted, that last guy was a really good player, but I don't know, I just got that vibe.
I hope he keeps going... I'm dying for a foreigner to show them up and to open up e-sports outside of Korea.
ZvZ.. even with an incredible appreciation of the match up is a bit of a Russian roulette in the sense that it's just so fragile.. and to play that many ZvZs is really a testament to how good ret's ZvZ has gotten. he knocked out the zerg that made it to the GF's last courage.. then some cheesie newb knocks Ret out 2-1 on his way to the top four.. if only Ret could hang around another month..
Wow, that was siiiiiiiiiick. He played unbelievably solid -- 7 wins in a row -- and I was excited to find out he beat the last round's finalist. Sick shit, Jos. TSL is yours. Kick that IdrA kid's ass.
Man, sad to hear ret is leaving korea after that awesome run. Game 2 literally came down to a couple zerglings.
I completely understand why he's leaving now but he was totally tearing it up. So annoying to see every single one of his games be zvz, but considering its his weakest matchup and he did that good, would have loved to see another one.
Either way, keep it up ret. You really are amazing at sc! I watched the entire video and enjoyed every second. To think, the next courage is going to just be all asians again, no white guy to throw them off their game!
I enjoyed these, I never watch any mu but P vs another race, u made them very entertaining, i was glad to have watched these and be up at 4am even tho ihave to work in four hours, ty sir!
It's so annoying that you can't jump forward. Scforall does it's usuall freeze at a certain moment and you have to load from the start, and considering the lenght of the video... was interesting though.
Thank you for the video. I hope you will make a video with ret before he leaves where he sums up the last courage and his stay in Korea in general. Thanks again for the effort.

try it again. had some issues the last days but after trying it twice it worked. another interview with ret would be great. summing up last courage and so on..

: S
Its doable. They have so many weaknesses , their amount of practice being the biggest.
Awesome video as always. Can't help but wonder what would've happened if he took another shot. Considering the rate at which his ZvZ has been improving I think next time he would've crushed it.
this is weird, I can view all the other scforallvideos, but for this one, I just get a black screen! Someone please youtube this. First time its ever happened as everything else works
On January 25 2010 22:56 Chill wrote: LOL I just watched the first 10 seconds but I had to pause because I was laughing at "Where is ret you ask?... ohhhhh!" hahahaha okok going back.
Seriously, man, I cracked-up so hard. He looked like the saddest abandoned puppy I've ever seen.
Is there any way to play the video from the certain time? I acidently refreshed when I was at ~70min mark >.<. I happened when ret won 1st game against 4th zerg and then his sc crashed again, he was a little pissed, and I realised he lost next 2 games :S. Why does computers fail us so much recently ;/ (MSL finals, courage...)

ret is wearing a fucking suit? sickkkkkkkkkk hahahahaha wowowowowow also it looks like ret lost weight :O
I got the same impression, it DOES seem as if he lost weight

Idk if he lost weight or not. But remember that suits are a flattering outfit.
Ret, man. You did it. You conquered ZvZ. It's only a matter of time before you are the foreigner ZvZ bonjwa. These games were beautiful. Artosis was just joking, but you really are a stone-faced killer when it comes to ZvZ. I'm glad all your hard work paid off - I hope you're more happy that you are on your way to mastering ZvZ than you are disappointed at not quite winning Courage.
Wish you the best of luck, man. Whenever you have doubts about the TSL, just remember the crushed dreams of your opponents in Courage.

Damn, some really nice footage here. Unlucky ret, you played like a superstar yo . ZvZ is one slip up and ur done for basically, so unlucky with game 2 and 3.. but very nice games, good pwnage mate! And thanks alot Artosis, really enjoyed the 1.5hrs, felt like 20 minutes mind ;x
somehow I can't figure it out how he lost the second game in the QF could have been so amazing winning all those ZvZs but nevertheless GREAT PLAY, ret improved alot indeed... and ret: although u owned this one, don't forget about some practice in ZvT and a strong idra. get the money dude! u deserve it now more than any other. because u can.
That 2nd ZvZ in the quarterfinal was insane... Soooo close. What bad luck running into nothing but Zergs. Oh well Ret, you still did amazing! great job! Hope to see you kick some ass in TSL2... Thanks as always Artosis <3
Really great seeing you get much farther than you did last time!! Your zvz sure has come a long way, but is Ret gonna stay in Korea or go back to the Netherlands?
Seriously. Does he ever play any matchups at courage that aren't zvz -.-. Did pretty awesome. GG Jos
EDit: Holy crap o.O Ret's ZvZ was his weakest matchup right?... Damn. Also... seems it would have been nice to be on a computer that didn't constantly crash.

Just b/c everyone likes to complain about your website Artosis, I just wanted to say the video loaded super fast for me, and I watched it straight through without any problems. By the end of the first match it was 80% loaded! Thanks for all you do for the community!

x2 it loaded super fast for me too lol.
Thanks artosis for such a great coverage. And good job ret, you improved a lot.
I'm impressed ret! So unfortunate that you didn't win that g2 :< was silly close and I thought you had it.. Also, what are the odds that you only got to play zvz's o_O You've had everything against you it seems and you still perform like that.. must feel like a hellofa revenge! ^^
Best of luck in the TSL, I'll be rooting for you! Also thanks for the video Artosis, I agree with you on the pants!! n_n;
Wow 4 ZvZs in a row... What horrid luck. However, I've seen that your ZvZ has DEFINITELY improved, so much props on that. If only you stayed longer, then I'm sure that you could take down Courage your next try! Especially if you get some other race.
It says a lot about Korea when even random boy band celebrities are not totally ass at starcraft. Like I don't know exactly how good he was but he seemed okay.

Wow Ret impressed me, really good games. If he had a little bit better luck, he would be capable of winning the courage. I would really surprise me if he gets beaten by Castro in ZvZ.
Someone please tell me how the hell has some pop star time to practice sc. He didn't seem like any good compared to other courage participants (Ret especially), but still... I just don't get it.

I think he's just doing it for a TV show, obviously he had no intention of becoming a progamer.
It's so weird to have watched the videos from Hyunjoon''s perspective, then from Artosis'. i lol'd when he referred to Shark as his co-boy band member.
