i'd rather write it like "Sicky" cause both i s are short vowels.

I think it is absurd that they hop into our scene whenever money is available then shun us when it isn't. I skipped several pages of this thread just to re-quote this. This is right beyond belief. No one knows much about any of the chinese gamers because of how little they are active in the community. If it isn't a money sort of opportunity for them they don't even bother. But how can they? They speak barely any English/None at all. Perhaps they could say that we are inactive in their community, I mean why aren't we on their boards posting away? Ret's honest opinion was that he feels Chinese players are not part of our community. That's 100% perfectly fine, it's his opinion he's not some judge sworn to uphold neutrality and if he feels that Chinese aren't part of the foreign community then so be it. He's not even that upset... he's very gentle about the issue and just it more comes down to what he "feels" and he just feels that the Chinese players don't fit in with the spirit of TSL. But that was a good interview, I enjoyed it a lot. Especially the bit about Dreamleague, I hope IdrA can take some games there in the future.

You can either agree or disagree with what I said, but if you've followed sc at all for the past few years you'd at least see both sides have some merit. It just ends up being a debate about what TSL is really is, for me teamliquid, and TSL stands for the foreign 'community'. The community that has never had big tournaments (the last year has actually been quite good). A chance for the players to finally play for a 'real prize' against each other. A reward for the years of hard work everyone put in simply because they LOVE the game. The community that has always been in a dark corner of the world ever since warcraft 3 came out because the only thing we had was WCG. And a lot of countries didn't even have that. China has a pro-scene. China has MAJOR tournaments all year long. Chinese players make good money off SC. Part of what makes a community is that among foreigners, everyone knows each other, we meet each other all the time in different tournaments, play online, all that stuff. We've all bitched to each other about how there should be more tournaments and asked each other ' is playing this game really worth it?' as we watched war3 pros rack in thausands of $. Chinese have never participated in the day to day routines of 'foreign' bw. F91 playing in liqubition.. He did that for money. And caused a shitload of lag problems for the players he had to face. Is that really an arguement as to why he's part of the 'foreign' community? They played (lagged) up a few clanwars with Fnatic for a couple of months BECAUSE fnatic paid them a big fat salary that ended up being fnatic sc's downfall. For me the only reason that having anyone besides people that are from the 'foreign community' that most us know and love ( ok, maybe not love) is that the TSL is sponsored by a big company now that wants to see a return on their investment. I had not taken PGL into consideration, because I wasn't playing when it happend and never really gotten any word of it. But that does change things in favor of having Chinese players. slightly. I have nothing against Chinese players, I know they are good people. But that's just my opinion. There are numerous foreign players that do exactly what you just listed. They play purely for money. Does JF enter any tournament without a prize? Does Draco? Are they part of TL or post on the forums? Do they stream constantly and interact with the community? You can't restrict it to just Chinese players and try to paint the rest of the non-Chinese foreigner community as saints. Draco and JF have been in foreign tournaments and clanwars every weekend ( Draco not so much since he retired ) for years and years. Draco even has a stream Yeah, Draco's a HUGE streamer /sarcasm (rofl)

That's complete bullshit. Idra made a life-changing decision to move to a completely foreign country so he can follow his dream of becoming a professional gamer, where his competition is 300+ gamers playing 10+ hours a day. For this he gets banned from the foreign (as in outside of Korea) tournaments by the community which he has been a part of since adolescence? What the fuck. I apologize for the derail but this traitorous banter evokes great nerd rage from within my soul.

He moved to Korea to become a progamer because he wanted to. Why are you making him into a martyr?

1: china 2: chile 3: castro 4: korea 5: ppl who refuse to leave after just have wasted their army and is about to lose their last money income plus main base solution: rent some random house in europe with decent internet connection and send all of these guys who qualify in top48 plus lags hard to this house and it will be lag free im not being serious im just trying to explain to u that more than the chinese are lagging hard and its better that we look for solutions rather than discussing who is active in the foreign scene. TSL is a competitive league for competitive players, not a league for players who use teamliquid for entertainment... but this is just my opinion ;p ye lol Leath id like ret alot more if his voice was like that xD
