Flash-y
Main Team 1 TurN 2 BaBy 8 Calm 10 Flash (captain) 2 July 2 PerfectMan 5 KTF MagicNs
Anti Team 6 BackHo 4 Justin 3 Thezerg
I'm not expecting too much, just picked my favorite players to give me more reason to cheer for them this season. Also, either TurN or BaBy will be the next bonjwa so there's that too.
But basically I'm just hoping that Flash and Calm will get me to a respectable score.

But HiyA's kind of sucked recently, and sAviOr's still got the ability to steal games from anyone, slumping ex-bonjwa or no... I agree that they both look like underdogs week one. Besides, it's a false dilemma: there are other players you can pick up for 2 points, OR you can make some adjustments and get a higher point value slot. But who knows? Maybe HiyA will bring back his Winners League TvP performance?
2-pointers: let's look at the decent/good ones, from worst to best imo:
The questionable: Xellos, YellOw - could pay off big, could flop. Oh, and neither is playing this week. Boxer, iloveoov - useful for picking up SKT points, but I'm not sold on that idea. BaBy, FireFist, IrOn, Miracle - no games this week, on teams with too many mediocres in their respective races. Yes, I just called BaBy mediocre.
The reasonable: HyuN - bad, but even he should beat Reach right now - but that's a one-week-wonder kind of deal, I'd have to trade him. HoeJJa - tempting, should beat GuemChi imho, but would be trade-bait after that. GoRush - He should beat Jaehoon I think, but then maybe not. Piano - but he will pull the upset of the week if he beats Bisu, even though I'm a huge fan. Stats - really brilliant play recently, but has to play Zero to start out. Pure - might be good, should be WeMade's main P, but he could be out of lineups next week, given WeMade.
In contrast sAviOr's now CJ's second Zerg and likely to see a lot of games (although maybe not that many wins, but is Orion/Devil any better?), while HiyA is still OZ's best Terran (pathetic as that looks right now).

also this threeway with JD & Effort & Yarnc is hard to solve, Yarnc just might win them both :|
i can't stand this anymore, i've been thinking so hard my head hurts, im gonna hit submit just about now and try to avoid changing it anymore ;p Off-line Frozean would probably stomp Iris, it really depends on how if the team transfer has boosted his confidence when it comes to live games. A very unpredictable player, especially after having had so many things go on this week - there's no real reason to risk going with Iris this first week... (this was why I thought Ruby was a better 1 pointer, at least this week, as his first game is almost guaranteed to be a win... really, Mbc? Shark?).

Baby and JangBi are bargains! only 2 each?!
And my anti-team secret weapons is Sea. Ya he's good but he's on a mediocre team. He cracked under the pressure in the individual leagues last year cause he was focusing so much on the ProLeague. I'm hoping he gets selfish this year and cracks in the proleague instead!

Should I choose Calm+SKT or Flash/JD + STX/CJ/OZ?

Fantasy or Light? Or am I being crazy for even thinking about this?

To focus on players other than just those playing this week (if the player you pick loses, and the player you wanted to trade for has a team win, guess what, you might not be able to obtain that player again)
GosI[Flying] is interesting, but risky, same with mong.
What about jangbi? Better pickup for 2 points than pure in pretty much every way I would say, since hes potential ace as well and might end his slump.
go.go is an amazing pickup, and if it wasnt for him not playing at all this week, would be on my team. Type-b and s2 have obvious merits as well.

very crazy. Not only will fantasy almost certainly get more wins, his team will get more wins as well. The slightly increased ace match chance of light doesnt make up for this.
On October 09 2009 17:30 konadora wrote: I couldn't think of other players (especially from ACE) that are cheap and are bound to fail.
Sangho will be sent out regularly. Considering you only need a 1 pointer player bound to fail, the choices are nearly endless.
(T)Favian 1 - khan will probably suck with maps/slump, and this guy wont play anyways (P)yoOn 1 - see above. Added benefit of protoss on a strong protoss team on weak protoss maps (P)Young 1 - apparently retired, likely to be removed. (Z)herO[jOin] 1 (P)mingu 1 (T)tiny 1
suny might be worth the risk as well (especially given the terran depth on estro, and their lack of team wins)

I would take Flash + STX. I'm predicting Flash as the #1 scorer in fantasy points because I think he'll see lots of ace games and win them. Jaedong could be substituted if you think his supporting cast can get him enough team wins. Calm is a great talent who won't see enough ace games as I predict it, because his team will often win in less than 5 games, and because he has at least one ace-worthy teammate. So I'm feeling good about STX as a team. CJ can be played if you're confident about Movie. I'm a bit down on OZ right now for 6 points.
On October 10 2009 11:13 Kyuukyuu wrote: Fantasy or Light? Or am I being crazy for even thinking about this?
Light will probably get more ace games because of Bisu, but this is one case where the difference in both individual and team wins will make up for it. I say fantasy all the way.

I agree, SangHo will be strong this season. I would not anti-team him. (I don't even think he's the best anti-teamer at the 5 point level). If all you need is a 1-pointer for anti, I like tiny there.

Light. Light has been playing much more solidly in PL outside of the PL finals, going 8-2 in R5. Also, a spoiler + Show Spoiler + Fantasy's play in the MST was terrible. Like, really, really bad- based on that one night I honestly think he might be a decent anti-team choice, if you're ballsy.
|
+ Show Spoiler +eh, he wasnt that horrible. His decision making was very suspect, but his macro was still very good

First time taking a crack at this. Made a 2 S-class player + assorted poor players team, with STX. Originally I had calm/pusan instead of bisu/daezang, hope that doesn't turn out better! Wonder if Backho will bite me in the ass.
Main Team 9 Bisu 0 DaezanG 1 FrOzean 3 Hyuk 1 Iris 10 Jaedong (captain) 6 STX Soul
Anti Team 3 Anytime 6 BackHo 4 UpMagiC
How exactly are trade values calculated? Some sort of weighted average between current results and original price?
