So the CSL is right around the corner, and whether or not we'll make it by the deadline this weekend is up in the air right now, but regardless...
I wanted to start a CSL team right here in College Station at TAMU. I'm not sure of the number of people here (college thread says 7 of us???), but this has to be a great location for a team. It's a great school with a great history which means smart people which means Asians which means possibly Koreans O_o
Hilarious syllogism aside, obviously there are plenty of good Americans to choose from as well.
What we're looking for
You don't have to be amazing. Myself, Royal2384, and ForTheSwarm are all around C- or so, which is respectable enough.
We'll take worse players, we'll take better players. What really matters is a desire to get better and a competitive nature. Even if your D- noobsauce on noobspaghetti but still have a strong desire to get better, we're here to sharpen iron. We'll grow as a team.
Also a good knowledge of the map pool is obviously important, you can find the map pool for the league right here.
You also must show up on game days! ***VERY IMPORTANT*** This shouldn't be difficult since the league is only in US so 4 a.m. bouts won't happen. If we practice all we but 3 of our 7 people don't show up, thats bad news pandabears. Dedicate yourself!
Don't worry, it'll be fun though ^_^ We'll have awesome LANs with cake and confetti and fun fun times!
Also you have to be at TAMU. Ya...
Practice Time
Obviously no one can really keep tabs on how much you play, but a regular amount of practice would be beneficial. We're trying to be competitive (especially with our longhorn rivals, who if you haven't heard, are pretty damn good) SO practicing as much as possible is the best thing to do.
Myself, I practice a few hours a day, when I have time between classes and before/after work. You can ladder or we'll have like an op tamu channel to hang out in if many of us are on at the same time, that sort of thing.

1. Post in the thread (ex: xomgajpgbbq SIGN ME UP!!!)
2. PM me with your ID you'll use in the CSL, real name, and email address
3. What race you play
4. Your ICCup name
5. An MSN if you have it
Please do this AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. I'd like to get a team together for this upcoming CSL, so that even if we're new and don't do well, we still get the experience of the league.

It is difficult to find players in Texas. Still haven't seen any other players at Tech other than HeavOnEarth and I... I'd like to be signed up :-(

ya finding good players here is a difficult task
but if you're at Tech I don't think we can take you, i talked to UT and they said a team got DQ'd last season or something for having players that didn't go to their school 
but i'll double check with admins, since i'd love to have ya ^_^

im positive we could get C- if we laddered as much as we should. we all hit solid D+ last season when we were laddering regularly.
also the slope becomes steeper the better you are, so getting from D+ to C- is significantly easier than going from B+ to A-, obviously.
regardless, there's always room for improvement. it's not like C- is the end all be all, i just used that as a guide.

as far as co-enrollment at blinn/tamu is concerned, i dont really know. or if blinn student planning to transfer can compete either, but i'm talking to admins about it to verify.

Mannnnnn, I'd be so down to play with ya'll. I'm about d to d+ when in shape, but I'm a fish in the corps this year . Basically they have me by the balls so I don't get much free time. But if I ever escape, I might come see what's up.

It might not be such a great idea to post the ranks of your players in case other coordinators are busy getting some pre-season intel.
EDIT: But now I know Texas A&M isn't a threat LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOOLOOOOOOOOL

its not like knowing we're bad will make them any better. intel can only take you as far as your skill, and since a better player is (in the word) better, intel doesnt really matter
edit: lol, but ya, its hard to expect too much out of a new team in any sport, so i'm not keeping things close to the chest on much for now. just want to get a team. period.

I think the main thing to pursue is just to have fun as a team and hopefully improve your SC.
