29 schools! Keep them coming :D
Also, putting off some social plans with the excuse being "I have to practice/play for the unofficial StarCraft team" doesn't sway everyone in your social circle
Just describe it how it is. It's an intercollegiate league for Starcraft players across North America, 29 schools have already signed up, it's the Next Big Thing, NYTimes have written about it, and it's not so dorky as you think. Don't go in there with the mentality that SC isn't cool, think of it as the coolest thing ever made.
I find that people are a little silly about hiding their hobbies. If you express confidence in something you're passionate about, no one's going to make fun of you.
you never submitted the roster with the wrong name or something and so they said you submitted it late and then had to forfeit the 1st match?
Yeaaah sorry I think we're going to have to come up with something less severe, but something that still motivates people to submit things in on time / proofread / etc.

It's not that hard on paper, but I know it's difficult for people with teams that don't follow SC religiously. Luckily we somehow motivate our team with lots of SPIRIT! Yeah :D!
No seriously, somehow you have to make this matter to people, and usually all it takes is showing that it really matters to you. I'm assuming that this is the last priority for many people, especially around midterm hell weeks and around finals week. Personally, as much as I want to play next season, next year is going to be terribly busy due to school issues and I'm sure everyone has to deal with this too. I know sometimes just setting at time for everyone to meet once a week or something seems easy to do, but a lot of things do come up once school gets rolling =(. Also, putting off some social plans with the excuse being "I have to practice/play for the unofficial StarCraft team" doesn't sway everyone in your social circle, especially if everyone doesn't know what ESPORTS is about. It'll just have to come down to scheduling every minute of my day.
Schedule around it? Really, these clanwars take maybe 1-2 hours once per week out of a night. You can't tell me that every single night every week you're not going to have 1-2 hours to kill, unless you are like the most popular kid in school and are always out and whatnot. What's wrong with stating Starcraft as a hobby? I use that to pick up girls all the time, with a 100% success rate.
+ Show Spoiler +Me: "Hey baby, I play with 200apm and manage a Starcraft team.. wanna come to my place tonight? I'll get you a nice dinner with my $50/month salary from gaming" Girl: "Done deal, let's fuck" + Show Spoiler + Actually $50 would be fuckin cool, much better than my actual $0 salary T_T
^--- this can be you too!

I'm passionate about ponies and unicorns.
DON'T JUDGE ME.
Schools are in the OP I believe.
And yes SC is fucking sick, it's like war and plays like soccer and chess combined on a computer screen where you craft Stars and war the Broods to dominate with both mechanical and intellectual prowess.

I think fanatacist was paid to spam this thread..
And being a coordinator might take a few hours every week...not a big sacrifice to get to participate in CSL+
Something I noticed hasn't been said in this thread: Logistically, it might not be possible to do both CSL+ and CSL, Inc... They'll probably have the same playing time options as us (weekends at 8?) and if they conflict, then you NEED two teams to be in both. Meaning one league, you'll probably suck (although, if everyone has their "B" teams in one league, that might solve that problem. lol).

Maybe we could something like a Minor League or something for CSL or CSL+, would be more interesting to get new people playing the game than just being stomped upon by better gamers.
I really hope I could recruit more than 4 players from my university, but that's how it goes.

It has been established that I am to be paid, the details have been worked out in my negotiations with hazelynut. Let me tell you, I am being rewarded handsomely for my efforts.

Go seduce more colleges into joining our cause, instead of transparently bumping the thread here.
Actually, do both.

well honestly, a MAJORITY of the players are "bad" - there are maybe a few schools who have 1-2 B level players, some schools have C players but a large majority are probably D or D+ ...

This is why superiorwolf should have the honorary spot on the Princeton team that he desperately wants (right?!?)
