General Information It's Proleague season again! What is the Proleague? Where the OSL and the MSL are individual tournaments, with individual players playing for personal glory, the Proleague is a league in which players play together for a team to win the Proleague for their teams.
With 12 teams consisting of 10 to 15 players each, 132 matches with 3 to 5 games in them, 8 maps, including two teamplay maps, and over 16 weeks of play, the Shinhan Bank Proleague is not just a big event, it's a massive event!
+ Show Spoiler [History of previous Proleagues] +Sky Proleague 2005 Round 1 Final: SK Telecom T1 4 - 1 KTF MagicNs Sky Proleague 2005 Round 2 Final: SK Telecom T1 4 - 3 Samsung KHAN Sky Proleague 2005 Grand Final: SK Telecom T1 4 - 2 KTF MagicNs Sky Proleague 2006 Round 1 Final: SK Telecom T1 4 - 1 MBCGame HERO Sky Proleague 2006 Round 2 Final: MBCGame HERO 4 - 2 CJ Entus Sky Proleague 2006 Grand Final: SK Telecom T1 3 - 4 MBCGame HERO ShinHan Proleague 2007 Round 1 Final: Samsung Khan 4-0 Lecaf OZ
Broadcasting and Sponsorship To broadcast this event OnGameNet and MBCGame each broadcast half the matches played. Two matches are always played at the same time, with one match being broadcasted on each channel.
The league is sponsored by none other than ShinHan Bank, sponsors of many major leagues and tournaments in Starcraft. This powerful sponsor adds stability to the massive affair, making sure that fans can enjoy their daily dose of Starcraft without a hitch.
Format We are now at the second round of the ShinHan Proleague 2007. Each round is a double round robin, which means that each team has to play two matches against every other team. A link ot the results of the first round can be found in the external links section.
Each match consists of up to five games: two 1v1s, one 2v2, another 1v1, and the Ace game. The first team to win three games takes the match.
Line-ups for the first 4 games of each match are announced long before the match takes place, and can be found on the TeamLiquid schedule. A player may only be used for one 1v1 game or one 2v2 game per match. Should a match go to the fifth game (called the Ace match), both teams' coaches have to decide who will play in the game. They may use a player that has already played in the match again! This game determines the winner of the match, and the coaches' decisions are often the source of much dispute in the teamliquid community.
Once the round robin stage of the league is over, the top four teams go into the play-offs. The play-offs consist of three matches, which can be seen as a quarter-final, semi-final, and grand-final. In the quarter-final, the teams that ended third and fourth in the round robin stage, play off for a position in the semi-final. In the semi-final, the winner from the quarter-final plays against the team that came second in the round robin stage. In the grand finals, the team that won the semi-final plays against the team that won the round robin stage. The winner of this match is considered the grand champion.
The play-offs matches consist of a best of seven match that has two 1v1s, a 2v2, two more 1v1s, a 2v2, and finally an Ace match.
Schedule Proleague will be played on five days a week this season, which amounts to ten matches played each week, and up to 50 games per week! This is more than the OSL and the MSL put together! You can find links to the schedule for the proleague in the external links section.

haji, I can email the whole topic to you, and then you can repost it, if you want to.
EDIT: I added the Team and Map stats using pictures, since I can do that without HTML editing.

Seriously, though, that was insanely awesome. Whether this is updated once a week or every day or whatever it should be kept alive, this is like god.

Just noticed a typo under Player and Team Statistics for ACE.. says they went 2-3 vs Lecaf but it was actually 1-3

Thanks for pointing out the mistakes, I've gone through this a few times but some mistakes always slip through.
If you find anything in the stats section that is not tlpd'ized, please point it out so that I can fix it. Those are also very hard to spot.

I thought it was very interesting. First zvz, and then another zvz, on Blue Storm, and another two zvz's on Un'goro. I wonder if that map really is as bad for Protoss as the stats make it seem, out of the 15 games on it that we know of, there's only been protoss players on two of them. I guess that would make this:
Jaedong < Un'Goro Crater > Rock
A game to look out for. Other than that my predictions are:
ACE 1 - 3 Samsung eSTRO 1 - 3 CJ MBC 2 - 3 KTF STX 3 - 1 SKT OGN 1 - 3 Hanbit Lecaf 3 - 0 WeMade eSTRO 3 - 1 Samsung ACE 0 - 3 CJ MBC 2 - 3 SKT STX 2 - 3 KTF
I think I'm pretty much just calling the obvious games here, so I might be completely wrong. Hope KTF can get the two 3-2 scores I predicted, they have two tough games coming up. It's so hard to predict how MBC will play though, if their players perform to their strength then few teams could beat them, but they've been playing a full strength squad for a few games now, and they haven't suddenly taken all the matches 3-0.
|
I think this is the updated list as of today:
|
South Africa4316 Posts
Thanks Virii, I'll have to go through everything though, it's very hard to keep track of all the changes if you don't make them at the same time. Will be nice to be able to compare the changes with yours though. I'm updating after the proleague tomorrow again.
|
Not a problem, I was kind of bored so I decided to rank them to see who was in first after last nights game.
|
United States7488 Posts
less losses should be ranked better than teams with the same amount of wins but more losses. For example, ViRii in your update I think STX should be placed below the 3-1 teams since 3-1 is the better record to have with three wins. Same with eStro and Lecaf.
|
The way I ranked it was number of wins, and then number of game wins.
So a 4-1 team that is 13-8 is ranked higher than a 4-0 team with 12-5.. because 4 = 4 and 13 > 12.
I dont know if thats how PL does it or not, anyone know?
|
iirc they do it by wins and then by the difference in wins/losses?
so cj would be +5 and lecaf would be +7 therefore lecaf would be higher than cj
|
Alright I think this is right then...
|
|
I can't read Korean But how does programer.or.kr work?
|
Look at the left side, second thing down.
|
I know, but did they do it the way I did and I just did some math wrong?
|
virii, your difference is correct (and matches the last number on progamerkr), But I think the rank is based on matches won - matches lost, and not games won - games lost.
(note, this is all a guess)
In other words: Lecaf 4-0 = 4 CJ 4-1 = 3 SKT = 3-1 = 2 OGN = 3-1 = 2 KTF = 3-1 = 2 STX = 3-2 = 1 KHAN = 2-3 = -1 MBC = 2-3 = -1 eSTRO = 2-4 = -2 Hanbit = 1-3 = -2 FOX = 1-3 = -2 ACE = 0 - 6 = -6
Tie breaks are handled by games won - games lost.
|
# Wins, then Win %, then games won - games lost
|
Found another typo under spoiler for detailed match statistics -> september 16th
should be estro 1 - 3 skt

Ok, this week's update is IN! I made some changes to the main stats, including some pretty colors. Hope you guys like it. You'll notice I added win percentage, this reflects the game win percentage, not the match win percentage. The reason for this is actually fairly obvious:
Teams are organized by their match wins first and foremost, so a team with 4 wins, and 3 losses is ranked above a team with 3 wins and 0 losses. Thus all teams with 4 wins will be ranked next to each other. The only difference in their "win percentage" would be the difference in their losses then, which makes the stat fairly obvious and unnecessary. It is much more interesting, in my opinion, to see the win percentage of the games, as teams are ranked on that after they are ranked on match performances.
Some interesting stats from today's update: CJ's 2v2 squad is 5-0! Kal becomes the first player to get 5 wins (5-1), but Anytime beats his stats two days later with 5-0. Ace no longer have a single person with a positive win-ratio. CJ has played the most 1v1 players with 8 different players, while ACE has played the most teams, with 5 different teams. Calm becomes the first player to get 5 losses (3-5), and is also the player that has played the most games (8). From the 10 matches played this week there were only 3 ace matches (3-2), 4 white washes (3-0), and 3 average matches (3-1).
I'm sure there are other interesting stats, but these were the ones I picked up when updating.

Desade, if you read the whole OP you would see that this gets updated every wednesday after the PL of that day. So this is updated now.
This week Savior finally won his first game (against ClouD), so he is now a stunning 1-4. Flower power is going strong at 6-0, and KTF/SKT seem to be losing their momentum. Lecaf pushes on, now comfortably in the lead with 6-0. We also see MBC starting to make their comeback, WeMade finally starting to perform, and Samsung fight their way into second last position.
This is turning out to be a very interesting PL! KTF Fighting!

Man, what happened to the 2v2 master sigamari? Did the other teams just get a lot better at 2v2 or something?
|
Melbourne5338 Posts
Could be various reasons: - Other 2v2 got better - New different maps with different strategies or just different focuses - Looking at Lecaf / OGN, appears TvZ is better on these maps (and unlike bisu/saint and reach/zergboy, he doesn't have a strong protoss partner) - Hes just slumping
Qoo)Max (Last season 2v2 MVP) is also doing pretty bad too.

Ok, update out.
Weekly Stats Report!
The team positions seems to have solidified a bit, as very little changed this week except for KTF dropping like a rock and MBC continuing to make their comeback. Lecaf remains at the top with a stunning 8-0, and a game win percentage of just under 75%. If Airforce Ace manage win a match or two they can surpass Samsung the Samsung way they are playing at the moment with the only players sporting positive win records in Samsung being Freedom (2-1) and Odin (4-0).
Nal_rA has finally surpassed sAviOr as worst fucking player ever with 1-5, and sAviOr picked up his second win to take a strong fourth last place (in front of Nal_rA(1-5), Oversky (1-5) and Sea.Pure (1-4)). Clearly he's in good company.
Kal dropped two games this week (two PvPs), but managed to win a PvT to keep his place as second best in the PL, while Anytime has taken a resounding lead with 9-1, and Jaedong is in a firm third place with 6-1.
Lecaf looks unbeatable this season, with their top three players going 9-1, 6-1, and 3-1 (ForGG) respectively, and their main 2v2 team not looking too bad (3-2). Hopefully they can give their younger players (Lomo, BackHo) enough experience so that at least one of them can grab a win in the playoffs this season.
Flower/Justin remain unbeaten at 7-0, propelling OGN into a surprising second place. Along with the 2v2 squad, Luxury is the only real performer in the OGN team with a stunning 5-0. His twin also has a positive win ratio (3-2) but he is not performing as well as was expected.
Although WeMade and Hanbit haven't moved up any spots, they are both threatening to take positions in the middle of the field, with team stats of 3-4 held by both teams. Both WeMade and Hanbit still have 3 matches to play before they have played as many matches as the #7 position SKT, and they are only trailing one match. At least one of them should pass SKT soon.
And finally, I have made a big update to the map stats. The cosmetic update (colours etc) are only there so that the stats are a bit clearer, as I've had to split the cells in which the stats were kept in order to create accurate Race Win % stats.
Looking at these race stats we can see that Protoss is having a strong season, winning 60% of all their games (and having played the most games, 85, compared to Terran's 84 games, and Zerg's 82 games), and 73% of their games against Terran. Surprisingly, last season's maps (Python, Monty Hall) are the most balanced maps so far with exactly 50% win ratios for all three races. This shouldn't be taken too seriously though, as these maps haven't seen as many games as most of the other maps.
I hope you guys find these updates useful, and that you appreciate the new features that I try to add to the thread (side note: Pachi, I added the maps that the games were played on for this week). I also hope you guys enjoy the weekly stats reports. I do these since I'm in a unique position to see all the stats, so I hope that the short updates are informative.

Fortunately from tomorrow I can start downloading again, so I'll have lots of catching up to do.

Sweet, thanks for the summary Daigomi. Makes PL so much easier to follow, though it's a shame not many people will see it here. Maybe Steve can quote it in his Proleague recap.

Jaedong's 6-1 record is better than Kal's 7-3. Unfortunately, number of wins is always ranked higher than win percentage, although I do agree that Jaedong probably has the better stats at the moment, and will surpass Kal soon, if he gets to play a few more games.
And Aepplet, I agree whole-heartedly with you. Samsung can keep their place at the bottom. I'd love to see an OGN, Lecaf, MBC, KTF or similar play-offs this season (although CJ are probably more likely to get that last spot).

Luxury and 2v2 undefeated so far helps quite a bit seeing as OGN has won at least 2 games every match they've had. Similar to the hustle Khan had going last season but they're not playing luxury every single match and their closer game is shakey.
For Daigomi: When I was looking through OGN's matches, you have in the detailed team/player stats recorded OGN 3-2 Hanbit, while in the detailed match you have OGN 3-0 Hanbit, while the actual game scores suggest a OGN 3-1 Hanbit. This is under the spoiler for 15th of October.

wow I loved your weekly report. Thx for it. Its weird how Samsung blows right now. Probably cuz Stork isn't as hot as he was a few months ago. Anytime's weird fall strength is scary yet so awesome. I'm not sure he will be able to get to the Fall final this year. He will have the Bisu and sAviOr to play and next OSL is supposed to be Bisu's as long as he doesn't take this one.

Wow, it is really going down this week:
OGN have to fight for their second place (coming up against STX from #5, and MBC from #4) Estro vs Hanbit for the bottom yellow spot on the rankings.
And lecaf also have some tight games, once again vs STX, and MBC. They might be pushed into only their fourth ace match this season.
As to KTF/SKT, this weeks matches will decide whether they still have a chance to be competitive, while Samsung must win to have any chance of not disgracing themselves, and CJ must win to stand a chance to take back second position.
This will be a good week!
|
Lecaf lost one and ACE won one this week! and both to the same team!!!
(wtf@STXSoul)
|
actually its not the same team.....
Lecaf lost to STXSoul like u said, but ACE won WeMade not STXSoul too^^
|
I'm not sure on this, but judging on the fact that MBC:s current ranking of the teams have a +/-*number* next to the team names and positions. I guess these are the differences in won games, as high ranked teams have high plusses, and low ranked teams have huge minuses (like ACE at -18 after the MBC - OGN game, the VOD where I saw this). Is this what they use for tiebreakers?
Anyway, thought that might be something to consider when you make this page for next season, if that's what they're using for tiebreakers. Btw, Chalrenge vs Sea was awesome.

Update out.
Weekly Stats Report!
What an interesting week for the PL. We're finally in the middle of the proleague, and Lecaf has lost its first (and second) match, while ACE won it's first match. STX first took down Lecaf, and then followed it up by beating OGN. At the bottom of the ranks, Hanbit had a very strong week, clenching a 3-1 victory over ACE, and following it up with a 3-0 victory over their closest rivals (at that time) eSTRO. KTF and SKT both continue their slumps, with KTF going 5 matches without a win now, and SKT 4. Finally, WeMade's short winning spree (2, vs. SKT and KTF) game to an abrupt end as they lost 3 games in a row, ending with a loss against ACE.
ACE WON A MATCH!
In other news, Anytime's victory march continues, as he goes to 10-2. That said, he has lost his second game this season now, losing to Sea on Baekmagoji (a map that typically favours protoss in PvT). GGPlay is eating through his opponents, going on to 7-1 now (which, incidentally, is Anytime's score vs Terran this season). Odin remains the only beacon of hope in the Samsung team, taking third place with a score of 5-0. Finally, Sea and Jaedong both won and lost a game this week, taking them both to 6-2.
In the team news, Flower and Justin have taken nine consecutive games now. I don't know who Flower is, and I know Justin isn't the greatest 1v1 player, but damn they work together well. Clon has been playing like a star for ACE, and remains the only positive influence on that team. His stats are now 5-3 if you exclude his 1v1s, and 6-5 including his 1v1s. The last time Clon lost a game was on 15 October, and since then he's taken 6 consecutive wins.
We've had a few interesting upsets this week. Piano beat Boxer, after which Boxer went on to beat Mind, who's just come from one of the most successful TvT MSL runs ever (qualifying from an all Terran group, then beating Oov in the round of 16, and beating TheMania in the quartefinals). Sheis stopped Jaedong from getting 15 consecutive ZvT wins, and Yellow[Arnc] stopped Kal from getting 5 consecutive PvZ wins.
And the biggest upset of the week is without a doubt Sea beating Anytime. Anytime was on 7-0 vs Terran, while Sea was 0-2 vs Protoss. The map was Baekmagoji that, at the time, was 8-2 for PvT, and I'm sure everyone expected it to become 9-2. Unfortunately for Anytime, Sea had different plans, stopping Anytime from reaching his tenth win, and breaking his perfect run against Terran.
Finally, yet another Proleague Thread update, with a list of the top players and 2v2 teams coming in. This list is sorted as follows: Net Score is ranked first. If players are equal on Net Score, number of games played is ranked, the more games played, the higher the player is (this means that 6-2 is above 4-0). If games played and net score are equal, the spread of the games are taken into account. A player winning 2 games against each race is ranked higher than a player that's taken 6 games against the same race. If all this doesn't split two players, they are sorted alphabetically.
The little arrows next to each player shows how much he has climbed or dropped this week. As this is the first week I've had to do the arrows by memory, so don't tell me that I've made a mistake, and that Jaedong was actually third, not fourth, last week. That said, I think the arrows are accurate
Once again, I hope you guys enjoyed the update, as well as the stats report. To me, this has been one of the most interesting weeks in PL so far.

Thanks so much for the update Daigomi.

Looks like Steve is 100% justified in putting Sea at 9th over Anytime (despite the loss to Chalrenge).
And what about Flower/Justin eh? 10-0?? I feel differently about Bifrost now. I guess players really can find their specialty in 2v2, especially given how badly Flower sucked in OSC groups today.

Ahh, thanks to your comment I checked my stats again. Flower/Justin are actually 9/0. There was a Zues/Flower game somewhere early in the PL, so OGN are 10/0 in total.
Something else I found interesting but forgot to add to the weekly report is how badly Terran is doing this season. Only one Terran on the top 10 (trusty old Sea), and an average win rate of 43% for terran, including a fairly horrid 24-11 score against Protoss. If you believe in karma, then this is karma for Geometry.

Braavos36374 Posts
haha yeah, but nobody complains that T is doing badly (even though there hasn't been a T winner of the MSL for ages, and the last two OSL winners were Zergs), because let's face it:
there's nothing more entertaining than a mediocre T getting taken apart by an upper level ZvTer or PvTer. even T players enjoy watching that.
combine that with the overflow of no-name Ts into the leagues the past few seasons and you have nobody really cheering for them, other than for the very top ones. also, the environment has produced many vT specialists. just look at Stork, Jaedong, Kwanro, the twins on OGN. we have an MSL semifinalist (Mind) who basically only played vT to get there.

Also, Zergman finally returns to KHAN's lineup. Desperation?

Yes, I feel bad for Casy. He moves to a new team, and then he gets the worst matches to start with. Best (ok, maybe this one wasn't that hard, still BeSt has been playing well), then GGPlay, who is in incredible form this season, and finally Stork. Really not the entrance he would have liked. Still, if he manages to win a game he will have secured his spot in the team.

By the way, when Casy went 0-3 in his Daum group, two of the losses were against GGPlay and Stork. This time though they better lube up good because Casy is coming back with a vengeance. He actually played well vs. Best and is on his way to a comeback. You heard it first here, Casy is coming back to win an SL.

would it be possible to put team in the 'best players' table?
thanks!!
|
South Africa4316 Posts
Strangely, I put "team" in to the "best 2v2" table, but only because it was smaller and I didn't want to manipulate the table to much. In the end I took that out, but never thought of adding it to both the tables. I'll do so from next week.

Nope, it gets updated after the Wednesday games. And, when the games are done, it still takes roughly two hours every update, so you can expect the update in a few hours.
And thanks for pointing out the mistake Pachi, it's fixed now

Not to steal thunder but I was dusting off my webpage skills and was messing around with the tlpd rss feeds and made this:
Shihan Bank Proleague R2 - Solo Player List
(note: elo rating is slightly modified elo only considering proleague games)
|
South Africa4316 Posts
pachi, that is actually very useful. I'll still create my list as my list has slightlty more info, but I can use yours to double check mine. I'd also like to use your ELO ratings, if that is ok? Thanks for the update!
|
Melbourne5338 Posts
Sure, you can use it. However, I remade the ratings a little with a standard formula and K=100 for nice variation in ratings. Losses seem to hurt more though. Poor Nal_rA, Much seems pretty fly after beating prime Anytime, as well as Stork and Luxury, and Sea also beat Anytime for a nice points boost.

Ok, I will update this a bit later. My update just got swallowed by an illegal error as I was busy doing the last 2 matches. So my team stats have been updated, as have the map stats, so i'll come update the player stats again soon.

Weekly Stats Report
So this week very little happened... with the team standings, there were a two groups of teams swapping positions. eSTRO moved up a spot, while SKT moved down a spot (even though they finally won a game again), and CJ moved up a spot while Lecaf DROPPED A SPOT!
KTF had a massive showdown with SKT to see could have the most consecutive losses, which KTF won 3-2. SKT, tired of losing, struck back the next match and also took their first win in 6 matches. Unfortunately they could not stop eSTRO from climbing up above them.
At the top a lot happened and Lecaf were finally surpassed. MBC powered through Lecaf as well as STX, to stay put at #4, while OGN beat Lecaf but lost to SKT, and stayed put at #3. CJ cleaned out the bottom of the ranks beating Samsung and Hanbit (not that bottom anymore I guess), to take first place, while Lecaf lost to OGN, but managed to beat KTF, to stop themselves from dropping more than one place. An interesting stat: CJ and Lecaf have won the exact same number of games (29-19), but CJ is 9-2, while Lecaf is 9-3. Strange.
In the map stats we'll see that Terran had a very good week. Terran has climbed to a 46% win percentage, while Protoss has dropped to a 56% win percentage. Some maps still seem very good for protoss, but Terran seems to be avoiding those, and focussing on the maps where they can win.
As to the player stats, we'll see a few big changes. 4 Players dropped out of the top 10 this week. Some were insignificant (Rock), while others were very significant (Jaedong, just before the OSL quarters). In the 2v2 stats we'll see Stay and Ho move up to third place after winning two more games, with Bisu and Saint dropping out after two consecutive losses. Strangely enough, Jy and Much climbed a spot, without playing a game. Justin and Flower took their tenth consecutive win! Unforunately, the celebrations were a bit dampened in the OGN rooms after Spear and Hogil lost the first 2v2 for OGN.
As to upsets of the week, I'd say Boxer beating Tester on Baekmagoji was a big upset. Baekmagoji is now 8-3 for Protoss after that loss. Other than that, I'd say 815 running over Midas and Jaedong were the second biggest upsets, as well as the miraculous birth of Hiya who beat Flash and Hogil (as well as Reach in the OSC) this week.
Finally, you'll see some cosmetic changes to the player and 2v2 stats (thanks Hot_bid and GrandInquisitor), as well as a newly created ELO system for the player stats (big thanks to Pachi for this). Another change is the way in which the game results are displayed. I've changed it from:
FireFist < ZergMaN @ Katrina
to this:
FireFist < Katrina > ZergMaN
simply because having to copy and paste the map name out of the game info takes an extra 20 seconds, which adds up to 15 more minutes I spend on this every week. The new method is really fast, and I think it might even be a bit clearer. If you guys prefer the old way let me know though, and I'll consider doing it that way again...
I'll end this week with a request: Can anyone please find out what's wrong with the WeMade stats. I seem to be missing one game loss from the WeMade stats (the tally of all the players and 2v2 teams are 26, while they've lost 27 games), and I just can't find it. I'd appreciate any help.
I also apologize if this update was a bit late, my browser crashed five minutes before I finished the update, and as such swallowed all the player stats that I added. Once that was fixed I spent an age trying to find the WeMade stats problem. In the end I would probably have fixed the problem faster by completely redoing the WeMade stats, but I'm not going to do that now.
Finally, I'm adding pachi's ELO list to the front page. This gives you an up to date list of the top players every week as the games happen. The page is generated automatically from the TLPD, but the ELO system is his own. I will still create my slightly more detailed stats, but pachi's page is a great help in finding the top players, and the ELO system is a really nice touch. Thanks pachi!

On Novemebr 12, the Match between Ace and eStro should have the fourth match as a win for Upmagic rather than DaezanG.
Also most of your tags for the player 815 lead to the map 815 instead.

There are still the finals left!!! It isn't finished!
And proleague will keep the same five day schedule even after leagues finish. The MBC Survivor Tournament will be starting within a week or so after the MSL finishes and that would likely be taking the time slot that was previously slotted for the MSL.

At the moment I counted that your indiv losses were 22 and team losses 5 (27), but your wins were 16+6(22). Your missing win is from Hoony who won a game against Lomo on 16/10 (not Hero_V_ [his stats other stats are fine]) according to tlpd. (Also note Nada v Hery seems to be the wrong way around on 21/10).

Thanks pachi, it was that HoOny game. The Nada "win" was only a cosmetic error. I checked all the stats of the players that had played, and compared it with the TLPD stats. I also checked the games they played to see if I missed a player but I couldn't find one. Great help
|
thx semioldguy another question there is a one week holiday (for the proleague) for the finals of MSL ?
|
Hm, First time I've seen Zergman play for a while. As always, kudos for keeping this so accurate and up to date.
|
Are the 1v1 stats for Samsung Khan correct? I count 20-18 from the detailed player and team stats part but the chart says 17-22.
|
Melbourne5338 Posts
Of note, it seems that Zergman was just some kind of copy of oDin with his tlpd still linked and his stats copied too. Zergman is only 1-0 not 5-1 which is -4/-1.
Overall which is 19-25, minus teams which is 3-8 you get 16-17 which is (20-4)-(18-1).
|
South Africa4316 Posts
Thanks for pointing that out. I can't use TLPD on the thread, as that screws it up more than not using it, so I generally copy a players tlpd name, and replace what is necessary. I must have forgotten to change the stats after I'd changed the player details when I redid the stats this week.
Sorry for the mistakes this week

Matches to watch:
GGPlay <Blue Storm> Hwasin
GGPlay's ZvT is quite good despite his OSL early exit. Hwasin's TvZ has always been his best matchup. I expect an interesting confrontation. Hoping for GGPlay to come out on top.
NaDa <Baekmagoji> Pusan
PvT on this map is so fun to watch. NaDa's been a bit off his game recently, but he's still Lee Yoon-Yeol. Pusan's PvT is just entertaining, pure and simple. (Sometimes a bit too simple)
Iris <Python> YellOw[ArnC]
Iris' TvZ is solid, Yarnc's ZvT is solid. Python is a solid map. Recipe for a solid game.
Freedom <Un'Goro Crater> Jaedong
Yay Jaedong rapage. And I know there are some Freedom fans out there, so an upset would please some people as well.
Stork <Katrina> Anytime
Stork PvP. Anytime PvP. Seems like a fun game to me.
Violet[Name] <Blue Storm> OversKy
KTF new player demo! I always like watching the new KTFers.
Reach <Katrina> BoxeR
This needs no explanation.
GGPlay <Monty Hall SE> Light
If the map weren't Monty Hall, this would be far more interesting. It should be a good game anyways, though.
Junwi/ Qoo)Max <Hwangsanbul> Saint[z-zone]/ Sea
Oh god Junwi :O Please do something good.
mensol[zero] <Katrina> Pusan
mensol 2-0'd Much in prelims. Pusan's PvZ is a notch below Much's, but mensol's screen experience is somewhat underwhelming. I hope for an interesting set.
Stork <Katrina> YellOw[ArnC]
Stork and Yarnc are respectable players, with one bad matchup. Here they can match their bad matchups against one another in a comedy of errors! Those kinds of games are always funniest.
Iris <Un'Goro Crater> Jaedong
Jaedong ZvT again. Always a joy, especially against a good opponent like Iris.
Much <Blue Storm> Anytime
Much is CJ's PvP rape machine, but Anytime is Lecaf's all-around rape machine. Whose rape-machine is better crafted?

Weekly Stats Report!
Ok, so yet another week down, and we are well over the half-way mark now. Not much happened at the top of the table except for MBC and OGN swapping around again. The middle of the table has been blown open completely this week, with the difference between the sixth place and the eleventh place being only one match. Samsung had a great week taking a big win of Lecaf, and another big win of OGN, rocketing them up to sixth place, with only one match between them and STX on fifth. It seems like they might actually make the playoffs again this season.
After Samsung, WeMade also had a very strong week, taking wins from MBC and STX. So the #10 and #11 teams beat the #2, #3, #4 and #5 teams this week... Very strange. This season is definitely turning into one of the most unpredictable seasons ever.
On the more predictable front, KTF dropped like a rock with their recent losses finally catching up with them. They are now tenth out of twelve, and their loss to ACE this week shows why they are (although it must be said that they were playing a very young team). Hanbit dropped two spots without really doing anything wrong, they beat STX (giving STX two losses this week), but lost to MBC.
And this week, not only the match results, but also the game results were completely unpredictable. Kal lost against Firefist but beat Guemchi, Nada ran over Pusan and Hwasin. Jaedong beat Iris, but lost to Freedom, while GGPlay beat Hwasin but lost to Light. Firefist won two games, Much won two games, continuing his massive streak, and Nada won two games, while Hwasin lost two games and Justin and Flower lost their first game. I really hoped they would go unbeaten.
In the player stats we saw Iris and Free come back onto the top ten, while Much went all the way to the second highest spot, equalling Anytime's score at #1. Stork also went up thanks to his two wins, while Pusan dropped a stop with his 1-1 score this week.
In the 2v2 section we see very little excitement. Flower and Justin are practically impassable this season at the top, while Reach and Zergbong retain their position at #2 without having played a game in the last two months. Lake and Shudder are back onto the list, while we have our first random pair this season, with Qoo)Max and Mensol.
Finally, I'm glad to say that I think the stats tables are finally fixed, and although no new features were added (I can't think of any important features to add), a lot of fixing was done.
Hope you guys enjoyed this week's update, and that you're all staying up to date with this fabulous proleague season.
Edit:
It seems like there was a one game error in both my SKT and Samsung stats. That is one game, not one match. Fixing this error caused SKT to climb three spots, and Samsung to drop three spots. What an incredible season!

The Standings chart is wrong. SK Telecom still has one extra match loss, and the game records are wrong for SKT and Samsung. Here are the actual standings as shown at the close of Wednesday's game on OGN: + Show Spoiler +1. CJ Entus, 10-3, 32-24, +7(1) 2. Lecaf OZ, 10-4, 32-22, +10 3. MBCGame HERO, 9-5, 30-24, +6 4. OGN Sparkyz, 8-6, 35-25, +10 5. STX SouL, 7-7, 29-31, -2 6. WeMade Fox, 6-7, 29-29, 0 6. SK Telecom T1, 6-7, 27-27, 0 8. Hanbitstars, 6-7, 25-26, -1 8. Samsung Khan, 6-7, 25-26, -1 10. KTF MagicNs, 5-8, 24-31, -7 11. eSTRO, 5-8, 23-31, -8 12. Air Force ACE, 2-11, 19-34, -15 (this was a screenshot initially, but I've removed it. If you don't believe me, this is my source.) Thanks for the comments!
Tigron, thank you very much for your comment, especially considering that it's your first. You have no idea how hard it is to find errors in this. I can basically just check my own stats to see if there is any error, which is what I did, and since my 1v1/2v2 stats and my game stats matched I had to assume that everything was fine. Guys like you pointing out mistakes show me where to look for problems which allows me to fix it. Thanks alot!
Thanks too semioldguy. I had that fixed, but I took the screenshot before I fixed it, and forgot to take a new one. And I'd love to see Much play Anytime at the moment, my bet would be on Much though.
Finally, does anyone know why CJ were penalized? I didn't hear anything about it.

If you want to check your stats for errors, both networks show the standings at the beginning and end of each Proleague match. We were fortunate that they were included in the VOD torrents this week. So whoever did that, good job!
In regards to CJ Entus being penalized, I was referring to the fact that their net game score is listed as +7(1) when it should be +8. This happened several times before in the previous Proleague season (look under "Final table of the regular season"). EDIT: The above was just FYI for all readers, not just Dai.

Weekly Stats Report
It's late at night now, and I've just spent two hours extra fixing the damage I caused earlier in this thread, so I'm a bit too tired for a proper stats report. In short, Hanbit, Samsung and Wemade continue climbing the tables, while STX has finally dropped from the #5 position which they have been controlling for four or five consecutive weeks now.
Zerg's season is starting to go down hill, as their initial dominance over protoss has ended, and their terran stats are still looking horrible thanks to Baekmagoji.
HiyA makes a surprise top 10 entry with his 4-0 after wins against Flash, Darkelf, and Bisu (and Hogil, but that doesn't count for much). Perhaps he could be the fourth 1v1 player Lecaf needs if they want to stand a chance of winning the grand finals.
Cool and Sangho have gone unbeaten for five games now, but they could not stop eSTRO from continuing it's losing streak. Jihyun and Cuteboy are also doing well, replacing their seniors quite effectively with a 4-1 score.
I'm going to end this stats report with a question:
So far this season has been highly unpredictable. The champions dropped to the bottom before starting their comeback, one of the bottom teams from last season went unbeaten, and few heroes from last season have performed again. But the most unpredictable element of this season, to me atleast, was the 2v2s. Namoo and Max (MVP 2v2 team of last season) has gone for 1-5 this season, Sigamari and TT have gone for 1-4 this season. Reach and Zergbong, while doing slightly better, have also not been able to repeat the success of the previous season.
Even the teams that seem to be doing well during this season constantly change. Everytime I see a strong new team I think that these guys could turn the tide for their team, and after a few glorious wins in the beginning, the new teams almost inevitably lose just as many games. So the question is, do the unpredictable 2v2 matches this season reflect the unpredictable maps, or perhaps the growing strength of the 2v2 arena, or could these unpredictable results even reflect the slightly larger element of "luck" still found with 2v2s. What do you guys think?
|
You list eSTRO as being 5-11 this week when they should be 5-10, but everything else looks A-OK.
+ Show Spoiler +I enjoyed watching most of these games, and I especially enjoyed watching Anytime avenge himself against Pusan, as well as newbie Haran outbluff Much.
|
South Africa4316 Posts
Thanks for pointing that out.
|
i think that 2v2 is unstable coz of more posibilitis and more counters, for exapmple Reach and zergbong come with 3hatch pool + fast sair strategy and won 3 games, then someone made perfect counter

Yes, I'm glad they are doing well. For some reason I've been supporting Cool since he was semi-pro. I loved the lame way he played. I was disappointed with his 2v2 stats this season (as I judge him to be a good 2v2 specialist) until finally he seems to have found a decent partner.

As the proleague nears its final quarter things are really starting to heat up. There's a single match difference between the last play-off spot and the 8th spot. There are 6 teams contending for the last two play-off spots at the moment, and the next few weeks will be crucial for all teams that stand a chance.
KTF is on a three match winning streak, with the young players taking all the wins. Haran beat Mind and Much in the last two week, 815 beat Xellos and Hero but lost to GGPlay, and Flash beat free, Nada and Much, with KTF's final wins coming from the raid and sair, leaving only one older player getting a win (Hery over GuemChi).
This week also saw some result turn-arounds between teams. Samsung beat eSTRO 3-0, after losing to them 0-3 earlier in the season, KTF beat Hanbit 3-1, after losing to them 1-3 earlier in the season, KTF also beat WeMade 3-2 after losing to them 2-3 earlier in the season, and finally SKT lost to Hanbit 1-3 after beating them 3-1 earlier in the season. Other than that, Lecaf beat STX 3-0 after losing to them 1-3 a few weeks ago, and MBC beat OGN 3-2, after losing to them 1-3 earlier in the season.
The 2v2 games remain highly unpredictable with Flower/Justin taking a loss to Thezerg/910, and SangHo/Cool and Jihyun/Cuteboy continuing their unlikely climbs. The WeMade 2v2 teams also both had good weeks, moving into the top five 2v2 teams.
Stork is continuing his show of form, taking the top spot from Anytime. Perhaps, now that Autumn is over, we will see more players passing Anytime. Luxury is just one win away from the top spot at the moment, as is Much, so we can expect tense games from these players in the coming weeks. This is also the first week that we have three terran players on the top ten, clearly showing the increased performance of terran players in the proleague.
Toughest Proleague The players that have had the toughest proleagues so far (using Pachi's wonderful ELO list, and only taking players with five games or more), in descending order, are:
5. go.go - facing opponents with an average rating of 1558 and walking away with a 6-3 score is not bad.
4. iloveOov - facing opponents with an average rating of 1566 but only managing a 3-4 score, his tough competition is clearly counting against him
3. HyuN - facing opponents with an average rating of 1571 and managing 4-3 is not bad, especially considering the role he played in MBC's recent victory over OGN.
2. ChalRenge - facing opponents with an average rating of 1573 but falling short with a score of 4-5 we can see Chalrenge's regular position as an ace player count against him.
1. Haran - facing opponents with an average rating of 1598, Haran is the player that has faced the stiffest competition so far this proleague, walking away with a 4-1 score against the likes of Much, Hwasin, Light, Mind and Anytime, this kid has performed exceptionally well.
Zerg continues to have a hard time this proleague. With only a 44% win ratio at the moment, they are sporting bad records against Protoss and Terran now, and the only maps in which Zerg has a 50% win record or higher are Un'goro Crater (a map aimed at Zerg), and Blue Storm (a map where their strong ZvT score is helping keep a positive win record). Let's hope the zerg players can pull the stats back before the end of the season.
That's all for this week's update. I hope you all enjoyed it! Please feel free to point out any mistakes made in this weeks proleague stats.

Standings look A-ok this week. Good job!

yay weekly report
wouldn't luxury and much both need 2 wins or stork to lose in order to over take? even with the same net, they're both behind by a game win.

Well, I've gone over from total wins to ELO to determine how a player is ranked if the net difference is the same. But I guess that it's not likely for them to gain more than 100 rating points with a win. They should pass Anytime though.

Let's go, KTF!
GET SIX CONSECUTIVE WINS
14-8 is good enough for postseason, hopefully.

Goddamn SKT... oov better make MSL and show some nice play or this season will suck (for me).

SKT only has two players with positive win records at the moment: BeSt and Kingdom. If your best players are BeSt and Kingdom, then you know you are having a rough time.

Week 11 lineups are up on the calendar. Unfortunately I closed the wrong window so I can't paste them all in here at once. :p

KTF MagicNs vs STX SouL
Haran < Un'Goro Crater > Sheis
Flash < Monty Hall SE > Calm
Reach/ ZergBOy < Hwangsanbul > Modesty[GsP]/ TheStC 815 < Blue Storm > Hwasin Closer < Katrina >
Haran > Sheis I think Haran should beat Sheis. He has beaten much stronger Terran players, so I have faith in. him.
Flash > Calm Definitely Flash. I have tremendous faith in Flash, especially on Monty Hall, and Calm has had a disappointing season for me. I really thought he would do something notable this season.
Reach/ZergBOy > Modesty[GsP]/TheStC Reach and Zergboy over any new team, especially if that new team has TheStC as its "experienced" player.
KTF 3 - 0 STX
If it goes to a fourth map I expect Hwasin to win, although I think 815 has a decent chance. The Closer i'm not entirely sure about. I think KTF should play Flash. The only protoss he could face is Kal, who hasn't been playing well recently. It will probably be a Flash vs Hwasin closer, which I would give 50:50 odds.
KTF MagicNs vs MBCGame HERO
Flash < Python > Light
Violet < Baekmagoji > Pusan
Reach/ ZergBOy < Hwangsanbul > Saint[z-zone]/ Sea
Hery < Un'Goro Crater > HyuN Closer < Blue Storm >
Flash > Light Flash has played way too many TvT's on Python (I really dislike the map for TvT), and his games have all been convincing (look at Flash vs Nada last week).
Violet < Pusan I can't see the Pusan losing this. I am glad that KTF are giving Violet more practise, but perhaps they should do the same for Lucifer. The fact that KTF never plays Lucifer doesn't give me much faith in him, but he always looks good when I see him play.
Reach/ZergBOy > Saint[z-zone]/Sea This one is tricky. I'd bet on Reach/Zergbong again because Saint and Sea haven't really played together, but I can see how Saint and Sea could be a strong 2v2 team.
Hery > HyuN Yet another close game. Hery played a good game on Un'goro earlier the season, and I still think he is average enough to beat most up and coming players. Hyun hasn't impressed me with his play too much either, but he definitely has a chance of winning.
KTF 3 : 1 MBC
If it goes to the closer:
Closer: Flash > Pusan Even though TvP is Flash's "worst" matchup, there are only two players that have consistently beaten Flash in this matchup, and even then it's never been clearcut. This will be a tough game, but I'd bet on Flash.

agree but Sheis has 7-0 in tvz so this will be really good show i hope

Hmm a horendously t favoured map for the semi final rematch.
But up did lose to july .

agree but Sheis has 7-0 in tvz so this will be really good show i hope I didn't realise he did so well against T players. Looking at the list though, except for two Jaedong wins (one which was in Jaedong's recent ZvT slump in the proleague), and one Luxury win, he hasn't had the toughest TvZ games (2 against Jju, 1 against Mumyung, and 1 against Silver).
A 7-0 score vs Z that includes wins against Jaedong and Luxury is still impressive though.
EDIT: Sheis actually ended Jaedong's winning streak, after which Jaedong had a fairly bad ZvT run in the proleague (losing to Sea and Freedom afterwards, but beating Iris).
|
Would be pretty interesting if Jaedong wins this OSL because it would be mean the top 3 players of the 2006 Proleague in terms of net wins (by a large margin too) would be the 3 players to win the OSL in 2007, sAviOr, GGPlay, and now maybe Jaedong. Just found that interesting.
Also looking at the two 2007 tables quickly I made this list of the best 2007 Proleague players so far by net wins (including playoffs):
1. Stork 21 2. Sea 19 3. Anytime 16 4. free 14 5. Jaedong 12
So if Stork wins at least he is the best 2007 Proleague player so far.
Thanks for the tables of statistics by the way.

Reminds me of how even though Stork has been doing amazing this year (2 final appearances, 1 semi, amazing proleague performance, and [76 wins - 33 losses (69.72%) ] for this year), like he said in an interview, he probably won't get any kind of award unless he wins a title.
|
You forgot to mention he won the WCG this year too, so at least he actually did win a big tournament. But yeah he really needs a Starleague win, I'm rooting for him to win this OSL.
Also, his team won the first round of the Proleague this year too. Stork might possibly have been the best player of 2007. If Stork could win this OSL he'd give Bisu good competition for best at least, they'd be one and two either way though I think. Bisu has had better Starleague success than Stork even if Storks win the OSL but it depends how heavily you want to weigh Starleagues and ignore Proleague and WCG and overall winning percentage.
Anyway, what kind of awards do you mean though?
[edit]Now that I think about it, if Stork can't even win one Starleague there could be some argument to place Savior over Stork at 2nd too. Stork needs a Starleague win badly.

Dec 5 is also labeled as Nov.

Anytime going 3-0 this week to pass Stork again (1-0) however Khan has 2 games next week to Lecaf's one, but with Stork in the finals will he risk it to chase the MVP and his team? From the looks of it Khan can get into the top 4 by replacing MBC this week if it wins its match against MBC.

Update out!
Weekly Stats Report! Big news this week! The Weekly Stats Report is moving to the front page. From this week on you'll be able to get your Proleague update from the news section, as well as from this thread.
In the team standings this week, CJ recovered from their loss to KTF last week to give WeMade only their second whitewash this season, while Lecaf faced off against the two lowest ranked teams in the league: eSTRO and ACE. Lecaf beat ACE in the closer, with Anytime beating Boxer, and then repeated their 3-0 destruction of eSTRO from earlier in the season.
The batle for the last two playoff spots has intensified this week, with OGN and MBC both holding on to their positions with an 11-7 score, and Samsung being close on their heels, sporting a 10-7 score, a score that is especially impressive considering that they were 2-6 a few weeks ago. That said, all the teams up to KTF in ninth spot (tied with WeMade, Hanbit and STX on 9-9) still has a chance to qualify for the playoffs.
Zerg continues their bad season, with the winning percentage going down to 43%. The only map that retains a good Zerg win ratio is now Blue Storm, and even on Blue Storm the win ratio is only positive against one race.
Terran's recent success in the proleague can be seen in the top player stats. Last week we saw the first week with three Terran players in the top 10 and this week we find three Terran players in the top 10 again. This week though, the Terran players have taken positions 5-7, with only Luxury (who has reached fourth position by beating his fellow Zerg players), and the three Protoss fixtures still ahead of them.
GGPlay dropped down three spots after a surprise loss against Odin, while 815 is new on the rankings this week after beating Sea in the unexpected KTF victory over MBC.
Easiest Proleague Last week I covered the players who has had the hardest proleague so far. This week I will check who has had the easiest proleague so far. The stat compares the average oppositional ELO of all players in the proleague who have played in more than five games this season.
5. sAviOr and maGma - These two players are tied fifth, with an average oppositional ELO of 1499. Both players also have a net score of -3 (2-5 for sAviOr, and 5-8 for maGma), so not only have both of them had one of the easiest proleagues, they've both had one of the worst.
4. Odin - Odin's opponents have had an average rating of 1496. Odin took good advantage of this by winning six games and losing only three.
3. Kal - Kal dominated the ranks early in the season with a net score of +7, and if we take into consideration that he's opponents have had an average rating of 1495, it's not hard to see how he's managed this.
2. Iris - Last season's OSL second place has been blessed with an easy Proleague this season, facing opponents with an average rating of 1479. Even though Iris has a score of 8-4 this season, many people were not impressed by his play, and perhaps the quality of his opponents has had to do with this.
1. Guemchi - With a 5-5 score, and an average oppositional rating of 1455, Guemchi has had the easiest introduction to progaming he could have asked for.
One of the most talked about topics at the moment is the occurence of mirror matches in the proleague. As the proleague progresses, the occurence of mirror matches increases, as does the complaints from teamliquid.
This week there were thirty 1v1 matches played, of which exactly 20 were mirror matches. This gives us an average of 66.6% of all 1v1 matches played being mirror matches, exactly twice as much as the expected 33.3%.
Over the last three weeks there has been eighty eight 1v1 matches played, of which 43 were mirror matches. This gives an average of 51.8% of matches played being mirror matches, a full 18.5% above the expected average of 33.3%. When this is compared to the first three weeks of the proleague which contained exaclty 90 games of which exactly 30 were mirror matches, we can see how the increased experience on maps leads to the increase in mirror matches.
A final feature of this week was the unexpected line-ups played by various teams, and the unexpected success of those line-ups. Samsung decided to play Jangbi, who was on 0-4 at the time, and Odin, who hasn't played in the proleague for two weeks, and hasn't won a game in the proleague for over a month and a half. More than this, they decided to play these players in a game which could decide whether they would make the playoffs or not, against a team that is notorious for creating upsets: Hanbit. Their decision payed off when Jangbi beat Guemchi, and Odin beat GGplay, finished off by consistent Stork taking a win over Free to give Samsung a 3-1 victory.
Similarly, KTF decided to play Violet on Baekmagoji, a map on which he was likely to face either Pusan or Sea. Violet ended up facing Pusan, and his victoy over Pusan was instrumental in KTF beating MBC. In line with this, STX not only played Sheis for the first time in over six weeks, but they played him twice. Sheis repayed STX by beating both Haran and Canata on Un'goro crater. Hopefully these unexpected plays will continue as the proleague enters its last few weeks.
That's all for now; I hope you all enjoyed this week's Stats Report!

Lecaf defeated CJ 3-0 on Nov 28th, but it isn't listed in the team stats.
CJ has only played STX once so far this season, but it's listed twice under their stats.
Also under CJ, the second loss to KTF should be 2-3. It is correct in the KTF stats.
In KTF stats their match against OGN should be 1-3. It is correct in the OGN stats.
In OGN stats their recent loss to MBC should be 2-3. It is correct in the MBC stats.
SKT should be 6-12 on the standings chart. (the team stats are right)
Hanbit should be 9-9 on the standings chart. (the team stats are right)
I've been doing some things with the team stats, and just noticed a couple differences and had to investigate.

Finally - Update Out!
On a quick personal note, I'm sorry if the update has been a bit slow in coming this week, I've been bombarded with obstacles. I went on holiday for the Christmas week, only to find that I forgot my Proleague spreadsheets at home. This delayed the process a bit, and then, while on holiday, I managed to break my foot and drink some poisoned water, which landed me in hospital for a few hours when I got back from my first week of holiday, a few hours which made me forget to copy the spreadsheets to my laptop as I headed off to my second week on holiday where I am now. That said, I created a new set of spreadsheets today (which you may find looks slightly different as I am using OpenOffice on this laptop, not Excel, so let me know which set you prefer). But here we are now, with the update ready for you all!
Weekly Stats Report!
With less than a month left in the Proleague round robin stage, things were expected to heat up this week as teams battle it out for the last play-off positions. While CJ and Lecaf were safe at the top, the battle for third and fourth qualifying positions raged on with Samsung having the greatest chances- poised firmly on 10-7.
![[image loading]](http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f193/tessfalen/20071227-TeamStats.png)
That said, MBC guaranteed themselves a spot in the play-offs this week with decisive wins over Samsung and CJ, and OGN is all but guaranteed a spot with the mid-ranked teams all failing this week. Samsung can only qualify if OGN lose their last three games, thanks to defeats to MBC and STX this week, while STX has squandered its chances by losing to CJ on the first day of the week. KTF continues its run as the most hated team on Liquibet by losing to eSTRO this week after their upset over MBC last week, and WeMade and Hanbit's disappointing 0-3 defeats to OGN and CJ respectively has blown their chances of reaching the playoffs this season.
![[image loading]](http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f193/tessfalen/20071227-MapStatsb.png)
In the map stats, Zerg has gained a 2% increase in their winning percentages after sAviOr took care of Hwasin on Katrina, both Hyun and Luxury grabbed more Zerg wins on Blue Storm, Jaedong showed us that he can play against Protoss by beating Free on Python, and s2, after a rocky start to his Minor League season, took care of Boxer.
That said, Zerg also suffered some setbacks versus Terran, with the most notable being sAviOr's loss to Ruby on Blue Storm, a map that sported a 12-2 score in favour of Zerg before sAviOrs loss. And on that note:
Worst Players of the Season Some players are expected to do poorly and cannot be said to have a bad season when their net scores are negative. When a player has been on the KeSPA top 30 in the last four months though, a little more is expected. This is a list of the worst performances by the players ranked highest since the Proleague started.
10. Midas - Ranked 26th on the September rankings, and with a net score of -2, Midas is the first of the SKT players on the list.
9. GoRush - Ranked 25th on the same rankings, and tied with Midas with a net score of -2, GoRush takes the spot directly below his SKT teammate.
8. Calm - Ranked as high as 20th on the October rankings by KeSPA, and with a net score of -2, Calm takes a strong 8th spot.
7. Hwasin - For a player that has been ranked 5th in the world since June of this year, -2 can only be seen as a poor performance.
6. Bisu - His #1 ranking in the world is definitely not thanks to his Proleague performances, with a -2 net score and only four 1v1 games, Bisu has now been demoted to 2v2 partner in the MBC ranks.
5. Casy - Although Casy only managed to reach rank 29 in the last four months, his 0-3 performance in the Proleague this season warrants him a position in the Worst Players of the Season box.
4. July - The last player from SKT to make the list, July started Septemer ranked 22nd, and was only ousted from the KeSPA rankings in December. His three under par will definitely not bring a smile to the SKT coach's face.
3. Reach - Starting as high up as 17th on the rankings, Reach has maintained his position on the KeSPA top 30 for the last four months with his dazzling performance in the ... ... Still searching for his first win in the Proleague, Reach has lost three games now, and it doesn't seem like he will stop any time soon.
2. sAviOr - Ranked third in the world from September to December, sAviOr will not be happy with his Proleague performance so far, having won only three games while losing six.
1. Nal_rA - The runaway winner for Worst Player of the Season, Nal_rA started September ranked 27th by KeSPA, and managed to climb up to 24th in October. He has still not dropped from the KeSPA rankings. With that said, Nal_rA has not only beaten all the challengers for this #1 spot with a whopping -7 net score, he has also beaten all non-contestants (including DaezanG, Rage, and Mingu) to earn himself the award of Worst Player of the Season.
On the other side of the specturm, Sea and Luxury have continued their climb up the Best Player ladder, with Sea taking two respectable wins vs Iris and Firebathero, and Luxury showing that he can do more than pummel his Zerg brothers by defeating the defending MSL chamption.
![[image loading]](http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f193/tessfalen/20071227-1v1Stats.png)
Those that were denied playing time this week may regret it as Kal rushed past them with his two victories, one against Stork, and another against Much, earning himself his highest position on the ranks in over two months. Darkelf also made a comeback for the first time in months by taking down Calm in a closer for CJ. Calm's dreary score against Terran (started by Iris and Darkelf on the very first day of the Proleague) continues as his most recent loss drops it down to 2-5.
![[image loading]](http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f193/tessfalen/20071227-2v2Statsb.png)
Finally, in the 2v2 standings, Justin and Flower continue their reign at the top as they quickly take care of WeMade's prized Stay/Ho combination. Cool and SangHo, as well as JiHyun and Cuteboy, keep on showing that 2v2 games can be predictable as their winning streaks continue, and one is left wondering why no other team has come close to showing the domination presented by the top three teams this season.
That's all there is in the Proleague Stats Report this week. I hope you've enjoyed it!

yay, i just noticed anytime is a lock for most game wins and MVP. Whats the criteria for best rookie? If its not strictly debuting during this season, then I think 815 or Haran should have it.

Update out!
Weekly Stats Report!
As the proleague progressed to the penultimate week, three of the play-off spots had been decided, and OGN only needed one win to secure their position.
![[image loading]](http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f193/tessfalen/080401-Team.png)
The week got off to a rocky start for OGN as they were run over 3-0 by the league leaders Lecaf. OGN came back strongly on the last day of the week though, and took down the up and coming KTF team 1-3, with only Hogil taking a loss to 815.
KTF also had a match at the start of the week where they faced off against their rivals SKT. The match was decided in the closer by a rematch of the first game between Flash and Canata. After losing the first game, Flash secured his team a victory by taking the second game.
There were a few upsets in the matches this week of which the biggest upset was certainly STX taking a 0-3 nose-dive against ACE. ACE managed to win the match by playing their season's two most dependable players: Oversky (7-8), and Boxer (10-10), who took wins off Kal and TheStC respectively. After ACE took the lead 2-0, Sunny and Clon team gave ACE their third victory this season.
The second big upset of the week occured in one of the most hyped proleague matches of the season: CJ Entus vs Samsung KHAN. In their previous match CJ took a decisive 3-1 win with only sAviOr falling short against Firebathero. This match offered a rematch to not only sAviOr as he faced Firebathero again, but also to Stork who lost against Much the previous time the teams met. In the end, sAviOr repeated his performance from earlier in the season against Firebathero, while Stork took venegeance on Much for his previous loss. Bolstered by the strong JiHyun/Cuteboy 2v2 team, Samsung finished the match in three games.

In the map statistics Zerg has continued to improve while Protoss's success rate continues to steadily decline. As the season comes to an end, each map is firmly cemented into a position with certain match-ups being favoured, while others are avoided. This allows us to look at the:
Map Balance With the statistics available to us we can see which maps were the most balanced this season, and which maps were the least. The formula I used to calculate this was simply to add the difference between each race's winning percentage and 50% together. The higher the difference of all three races added together, the more imbalanced the map was, and vice versa.
With that in mind, the most imbalanced maps of the season were:
3. Blue Storm - Blue Storm is fairly balanced in both TvP and PvZ, but unfortunately the ZvT balance is atrocious, with Zerg winning 13 of the 17 encouters on the map.
2. Un'goro Crater - Perhaps one of the most interesting maps this season, Un'goro crater falls short of a well-balanced map by allowing Terran to build in the middle of the map. This minor problem with the map creates major problems for Protoss, as a slow push is inevitable on the map.
1. Katrina - Katrina suffers from not one bad matchup, but two. Protoss dominates this map with a 74% win percentage against the other races. Terran has only managed to win one of it's first nine games against Protoss on the map, while Zerg has won less than half its games against Protoss.

In the player stats this week: Anytime has cemented his position as the MVP for the season, and also as the player with the most wins of the season, and while Aytime runs away with pole position, the fight for second place rages one. Stork currently holds second position but a bad result against Haran next week could allow any of the top ten players to take his spot.
The contest for the best rookie award is also tense as atleast five of the top ten players could be considered young players, while perhaps only two of them would be considered rookies. 815 is one of the rookies (although he played one game in the final week of the previous proleague), and he has shown why he is a strong contender for the rookie award by continuing his proleague run this week by beating both BeSt and HoGil.
Strongest Players by MatchupLooking at the strongest player opf each matchup you will find that many of the top players of the proleague are on the top players list thanks to one specific matchup, while others who may not be considered great players appear on the best matchup list due to one specific matchup. The list is as follows: The most interesting players on the list are without a dobut Boxer and BeSt. Boxer has dominated his games against Terran this season, especially against the younger generation of Terran players. Boxer's victims include: HiYa (his only loss), Lomo, Mind, Frozean, and TheManiaMST. BeSt has also dominated his mirror matchup, showing a staggering 8-1 score. His victims include: Tester, Ra, Jangbi, and recently, Pusan and Anytime. His only loss was given to him by Rock. Finally, Flower and Justin have retained their position as the top team in the proleague after another mediocre week in which they took one win as well as a loss. In their last eight games the OGN team has won only four matches: Both the Jihyun/Cuteboy and the Cool/Sangho team have shown better recent form than Flower and Justin. With that said, Flower and Justin have guaranteed themselves the MvP award this season by reaching a 10+ net score, and never falling below the 10+ mark.
That's all there is for this week. Next week will only have three days of Proleague, so expect an update slightly sooner. We'll look back at the whole season next week, and perhaps make some predictions for the play-offs. I hope you've all enjoyed the update, and feel free to leave your thoughts!

Update out!
Weekly Stats Report!
After fouteen weeks, 67 days of play, 132 matches, and 541 games, the proleague round-robin stage has finally come to a close. The play-off spots have been decided.
At the top of the log we find Lecaf, a team whose lowest position this proleague has been tied first; a team who lost their first match after nine matches. In second place is MBCGame HERO, coming back from a dreadful 1-3 start to finish the season 15-7. CJ will be disappointed with their third place finish (tied 15-7 with MBC, but losing on games) after holding second place or higher for eight consecutive weeks only to be passed in the last week of play. The final play-off spot goes to OGN, a team that has been consistently in the top four spots for the duration of the Proleague.
Looking back at the proleague it is interesting to see how this season has progressed, to note similarities, but also changes that occurred throughout this season. This week's update will look back to the start of the proleague (at least to the first spreadsheets I made), to see what how things have changed since the start of the proleague.
+ Show Spoiler [24 October 2007] + Looking at the team standings we can see that not much has changed. Lecaf, OGN, and CJ have stayed at the top of the rankings from the start, and MBC quickly recovered from their bad start.
The two biggest changers on the team standings are KTF and Samsung. Samsung climbed six spots to fifth place, missing a spot in the play-offs with only one match, in contrast with this, KTF dropped five spots from a qualifying spot to end as one of the bottom four teams.
+ Show Spoiler [24 October 2007] + Since the start of this proleague the maps have changed and evolved as players' grasp of the maps grow, and the effects of imballances become more obvious. By looking at the changes in the statistics we can see how the players' perceptions about the maps have changed.
Baekmagoji has changed from a TvZ dominant map to a TvP/PvP map, with only three TvZs being played in the last three months, while 18 TvPs and 16 PvPs were played.
Blue Storm has changed from a Protoss dominated map (Protoss had a 69% winning percentage at the time the stats were first generated), to a Zerg dominated map (63% winning percentage at the end of the round-robin stage). In contrast, Protoss now only have a 48% winning percentage.
Katrina has remained a Protoss map throughout the season, with the only change being Zerg fairing much worse in the latter half of the season.
Un'goro Crater can be seen as the map that has changed the least since the start of the season. When the season started, everyone knew the map would be a TvZ battleground, and the map has remained well-balanced in that matchup throughout the season. No other matchup (except for the mirrors) were ever truly played on the map.
+ Show Spoiler [7 November 2007] + In the 1v1 standings we see Anytime holding on to his position from the start of the season. The only other players that have remained on the list since the strat of the season are Sea and Luxury. Jaedong was on the list for a long time, and then dropped off the list for a long time- It was only in the penultimate week of the round-robin stage that Jaedong managed to join the list again. Kal was also a fixture on the top players list before a big losing streak caused him to drop from the list. It is only during the last week of the season that Kal has managed to get back onto the list.
Something that is interesting to note is the growth of the younger players this season: go.go, 815, Darkelf, and HiYa joined the list only in the second half of the season. While some of these players were known before the proleague started, few of them were well respected. As this season comes to a close now, there are not many experienced players that would confidently face the new proleague stars.
+ Show Spoiler [7 November 2007] + In the 2v2 standings we see Justin and Flower has continue their domination from start to end. Not all teams were able to do this though, as Reach and Zergbong ended the proleague on a 6-7 score, losing their last five games in a row. Lake and Shudder were also unable to improve on their score, winning only one of their last four games, and while Much and Jy were unable to improve on their score (they didn't played together again) they rejoined the 2v2 standings this week, still sporting the same 3-0 score.
-----
Looking forward to the up-and-coming play-offs it is perhaps poignant to look at the results these teams have had playing each other as they prepare to face off again.
+ Show Spoiler [Previous Results] + Lecaf Oz 0-3 vs MBCGame HERO 3-2 vs MBCGame HERO
3-1 vs CJ Entus 3-0 vs CJ Entus
1-3 vs OnGameNet SPARKYZ 3-0 vs OnGameNet SPARKYZ
MBCGame HERO 3-0 vs Lecaf Oz 2-3 vs Lecaf Oz
1-3 vs CJ Entus 3-1 vs CJ Entus
1-3 vs OnGameNet SPARKYZ 3-2 vs OnGameNet SPARKYZ
CJ Entus 1-3 vs Lecaf Oz 0-3 vs Lecaf Oz
3-1 vs MBCGame HERO 1-3 vs MBCGame HERO
3-2 vs OnGameNet SPARKYZ 3-2 vs OnGameNet SPARKYZ
OnGameNet SPARKYZ 3-1 vs Lecaf Oz 0-3 vs Lecaf Oz
3-1 vs MBCGame HERO 2-3 vs MBCGame HERO
2-3 vs CJ Entus 2-3 vs CJ Entus
The results are fairly equal and representative of the team's positions: Lecaf has done the best against its fellow quaifiers, beating them four times and losing only twice, while OGN has done the worse, winning only two of its matches and losing six. OGN has also lost its last three matches against the qualifiers, perhaps making them a slight underdog for the play-offs.
MBC has done well, taking a win from every qualifying team, and their depth might help them against the other teams in the BO7 setup of the play-offs. CJ has also won half their matches, but unlike MBC they did not manage to win a match against Lecaf but beat OGN twice. CJ also has a line-up with great depth, which could change their result against Lecaf should they face them again.
With that said, it is impossible to say what the play-off results will be. The changing format of the play-offs, as well as the inconsistent form shown by the teams, are sure to make the play-offs very unpredictable and exciting!
That is all there is for this week. I hope you have all enjoyed this week's laak at the proleague, and that you are all looking forward to the play-offs as much as I am!

I think there is a mistake in the match between ACE and MBCGame on 5 January 2008 (in the OP). Please recheck.

Sorry, I have that fixed in the stats, since I noticed the misake (I accidentally took someone's predictions rather than the results), but I must have forgotten to add the stats thtere.

im confused by this playoff picture im trying to create in my head where CJ has to play all 3 of the other top teams....

They do need to play all three other play off teams if they want to win. That's the difference between coming 3rd or 4th in the round robin stage and 1st or 2nd.

thank you very much for this excellent thread...amazing work !

Thank you so much for your effort Daigomi
Just want to say that while there are imbalances on these maps, I think they are much better than the Round 1 maps which forced tons of TvT on Geometry and tons of PvP on Nemesis. The less mirror matchups the better maps.

Just so that everyone knows, this thread is over now. I've added a small Playoffs section, but the stats do not include the playoffs as well, just the round robin stage.
Hope you've all enjoyed the proleague this season, and I should be here next season, doing the same thing for you guys!
