I know you cant generalize.. Nevertheless for the most this blush and shy boy in love role is maybe cute but still they are more attracted by male persons who represent a strong shoulder and got a good amount of self respect than somebody who is fond of and running after them all the time. Except you want to fill the "best friend" part. I wouldnt make such a fool of myself for any specific woman.

If it is real, then screw all the lectures people try to give you. Those who tries to dispense their so called wise advices to you are probably never gonna have the courage to get out of their shell and do what you did, no matter how crazy it may come across as.
