The second video.. there is not much talking in that one. Also, what exactly is not safe for work about it? Some dead bodies? Are you joking? This is the age of information ffs. Did not watch the third video. Anyway, these videos are difficult to translate due to the sub par sound quality and there is a lot to translate also... and "Just interested", as redtooth said, is hardly inciting. What are the inhabitants of this house you're defending saying? -Nobody needs this war. What else, basically right now were fighting the terrorists, they're fighting us, and between that the city is getting destroyed, whate are the inhabitants saying about that? -They say we will have to rebuild the city, again... we'll need a lot of materials. When he takes the shot of the group of soldiers he's saying that this group has completed their mission and has made it to the square near the presidential palace. Beginning of third vid. The soldier is saying that there are a lot of casualties. Complains about a degree of ineffectivnes in the operations: something about lack of cover fire when the soldiers go out to pull out the wounded. Then he says that their group had 197 soldiers and that over 60 have died, 30% casualty rate. | ||

The Chechen war was nothing but a pointless, bloody meat grinder. The Russian army was terribly prepared. Young soldiers who were 18, 19 years old, many who were just drafted into the military, with zero experience were sent into Grosny. It's understandable that the military was struggling at that time and needed extra troops. During the 90's the country was a chaotic shithole. Thus casualties were excessive. Too many young men, and Chechen citizens who got cought in the crossfire died. This war shouldn't have happened. Btw ask the uploader on youtube to try and make subtitles for these vids. | ||
