Announcements: Two huge things happening next week!
I will have a new set! It is time to put my money where my mouth is. I keep saying how easy it is to make a brackground for your ‘set’ but yet here I am in my office. Next week, come see iteration 1 of the new set.

Today we discuss eSports web shows. Specifically we do a deep dive into camera angle and what it means to have a proper set. Gone are the days of not having a care about your background, gone too are the days of not treating your bedroom and a set. Today I look at how the pros do it and I tell you exactly why you should do what they do.
Day9, JP McDaniel, djWHEAT, totalbiscuit are all at the top of their game. Do you think they just tossed their camera ontop of their compter and gave no consideration to their bedroom/offie-turned-set? No. They all have ‘purposeful’ backgrounds, they know that perception is half of branding and when you are in eSports you are your brand.
Course correcting: Around the 12:00 mark I take a look at different shows and discuss how their shots evolved over time. I highlight TB's new show, JP McDaniel's camera angle from one show to the next and how it effects the shot as well as highlight Adebisi and how he recently improved his setup. Check out how simple adjustments made to your 'set' can have an impact on the quality of your production value.
Around the 15minute mark I take a look at a non-Starcraft web show and I prove that just because you film in your house doesn’t mean you cannot have awesome production.
I also do a bonus episode at the very end where I discuss the awesome, amazing, mind-blowing, bar-raising production of the Magic the Gathering ProTour. Seriously, these guys just knocked it out of the park. If you haven’t seen MTG ProTour tune in to this!
end notes: Halfway through the episode I get to excited and bump the table which kicks my camera angle off. My OCD just cannot let that go and I need you to know it kills me to see myself with a bad camera angle Speaking of bad camera angles, the special segment I do at the end is all out of whack. Just goes to show you, you need two monitors to properly stream a show! I recognize my failure and shall work to correct it.
Awesome stuff! I also tuned into the MtG Protour today (only for a little bit since I haven't kept up with MtG since high school and have no clue about good decks now), but the production value was really nice in my opinion. I love the top down camera angle over the cards and hands... Really puts the focus on the cards and the hand movement. I'm really looking forward to next week's episode with Carmac!
Hey Jason, love your show. Have you ever watched a professional Broodwar match like from an OSL/MSL or Proleague? They already have the same stuff as the Magic guys. They have close-ups of players, map and player statistics, first person view and all that jazz. It might be interesting for you to watch a few of them, especially Proleague finals, those are insane.

I have only seen a little of BW. People keep telling me to check it out. I've seen the aircraft hanger finals they had a while back. I'll check them about. If you have a good link to a great ep that would b appreciated.
working on the concept for my set. So far I am working with 5 pieces of 8.5x14" pieces of paper, 2 desk lamps, a piece of foamcore and a bedsheet. Iteration 1 is about done!
Mind taking some pictures of work-in-progress for your set? Sometimes it's hard for us novices to figure out exactly how things are done just by looking at the final product.
Or maybe you're already making a show out of that. In that case, carry on.
That show somehow gets better and better Really looking forward to the next one with your new set! I would like to see a "Building my set"-Episode or a slideshow of that
