Well, I have been using the LMO for the past year or so, and while it is absolutely perfect for BW, Its DPI is not high enough to play SC2 at high res comfortably. I have everything maxed and it takes ages to get across the screen, not to mention the fact that if I turn off mouse acceleration it is either slow as a snail or jumping 4 pixels at a time. So I think I'm buying a modern mouse.
I looked around and I'm settled on the Razer Salmosa, its cheap and smaller than many other mice, and I exclusively use a fingertip grip on mice.

I found both the regular and Asia edition (smaller) on ebay from reputable sellers for 25$:
REGULAR: US/EU Salmosa
ASIA: Smaller size

But I'm still deciding which one to get, I searched back and found a few threads comparing them, but not very conclusively....
Does anyone here have experience with the LMO and Asia Edition salmosa? If they are the same rough size that would be perfect for me. But I have also heard that they are really tiny, I actually have large hands and want as close to LMO size as possible.

This is the Asia edition, it LOOKS about the same size as the LMO...is it really? I have heard complaints that it is WAY too small...I don't want a toy mouse.

I've always found these mice to be small to a point of being uncomfortable.

My personal preference is a solid mouse that fills to my hands (think MX518), so perhaps it's just a personal bias.

Have you used the LMO? Do you find that too small?

I never touch my palm to the mouse, so I want something fairly small I can fingertip easily.

I've never tried the LMO. In any case, use my mouse differently. I like to feel the mouse against my palm, so perhaps my problem isn't so bad for you.

edit-well the lmo seems inbetween the two...up to you, but you have big hands so why go for the little one...unless you do a serious claw grip I suppose.

Ah.

In either case, I haven't used a Logitech Optical Mini either.

But I generally prefer big mice to smaller mice, so take that into consideration.

Logitech Mini Optical - it's a popular mouse among SC:BW pro-gamers.

Here is a size comparison of the Razer Salmosa and the LMO

I believe the Asia Pro-gaming edition is roughly the same size as the Logitech Mini Optical. I have one and its the same size as my Logitech VX Nano, and I remember a comparison photo of the VX Nano and LMO being the same size. It was from a very in-depth laser/optical mouse DPI review, but I can't seem to find it.

Both of the mice have the same 1800/800 DPI switch (very useful for playing both BW and SC2). If you want a slightly larger mouse I would go for the Salmosa, or a similar Logitech/Microsoft mouse. If you're comfortable with the size of the Logitech Mini Optical buy the Asia Pro-gaming Salmosa.

In this pic the regular salmosa looks the same size as the LMO...at this point i'm leaning towards the Asia because I really fingertip, I gotta go find a ruler and measure my LMO.

FakeSteve to the rescue! im using a US salmosa and its just fine to fingertip, so either one would probably be good also both dpi settings are PERFECT for playing BOTH sc:bw and sc2 ^_____^ which makes the mouse my favorite from Razer atm (also like the diamondback 3g but i use that for fps only because the salmosa is better for starcraft in every way, funny thing i fingertip in starcraft but not in fps ^___^ )

This one right here.

Im a big person, 6'5 200 lbs and I use a salmosa with absolutely no problems. It's really not that small of a mouse.

Just got the regular Salmosa and I gotta say, after a long ass time of searching for a suitable mouse I think I've finally found it. I had reservations that it would be too small but it actually feels much bigger than the Krait I was using. No more awkward grip! It's easily clawable for average hands btw.

Do anyone have the correct dimensions of the LMO?
The websites that sold them are absolutely wrong. Amazon stated it was 5.8 inches, that's longer than the Deathadder. rofl

Anyways. Would be great if anyone knew or could measure. I am looking for a new mouse to replace my LMO.

Salmosa KR: 96x54.4x33 (mm)
Salmosa US: 115x63x37 (mm)

Deathadder: 128x70x42.5 (mm)
